Abstract
A protection barrier includes a base, the base having a great lower side and a small topside; the base expanding from the topside to the lower side gradually; each of two lateral sides of the base being installed with a first buffer for buffering and resisting impacts from vehicles. The base has an approximate triangle shape with each apex being frustrated. Each of the two lateral sides of the base having a second buffer. A ground anchor is installed to a bottom of the base. The buffers have a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes. The protection barriers can be arranged longitudinally between two lanes for isolation or aside a lane for preventing a vehicle to run out of the lane.
Description
- The present invention relates to protection barriers, and particularly to a protection barrier for buffering impacts from vehicles.
- Protection barriers serves to avoid the vehicles to run out of a predetermined lane, especially when the vehicles run with high speeds, it is necessary to install protection barriers at an outer side of a shoulder of the lane or to use protection barriers to isolate different lanes.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 a prior art Jersey barrier is illustrated for isolating the lanes of highways so as to provide the safety of traffic and provide a beautiful outlook. Generally, the barrier has a height of about 150 cm. Generally, the Jersey barrier has a height of approximately (a Chinese word) shape. Aprotecting edge 11 is formed at a lower side of the protection barrier for buffer the impact from a vehicle. - The wide bottom of the Jersey barrier is designed corresponding to the height of a vehicle. However the impact of a car is from different directions, orientations which are irregular. Thus, the prior art barrier with the protection edge is not sufficient for providing the safety of traffic.
- Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to provide a protection barrier, wherein the protection barrier includes a base, the base having a great lower side and a small topside; the base expanding from the topside to the lower side gradually; each of two lateral sides of the base being installed with a first buffer for buffering and resisting impacts from vehicles. The base has an approximate triangle shape with each apex being frustrated. Each of the two lateral sides of the base having a second buffer. A ground anchor is installed to a bottom of the base. The first buffer is a rubber ring. The second buffer is a rubber ring.
- The first buffer has a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes. The second buffer has a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes.
- The protection barriers of the present invention can be arranged longitudinally between two lanes for isolation or aside a lane for preventing a vehicle to run out of the lane. When a car runs out of a lane, it must impact the protection barrier firstly, while the buffers of the present invention provide buffer effect to the vehicle so as to protection the bottom of the car from destroy. The first buffer and second buffer provide a dual friction effect.
- The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.

FIG. 6 is a view continued from the state illustrated inFIG. 5 . - In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be provided in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.
- Referring to
FIG. 2 , the protection barrier of the present invention comprised abase 21. The base has a great lower side and a small topside; the base expanding from the topside to the lower side gradually. Each of two lateral sides of the base is installed with afirst buffer 21 for buffering and resisting impacts from vehicles. Furthermore, asecond buffer 22 can be installed aside thefirst buffer 20. The base has an approximate triangle shape with each apex being frustrated. Thefirst buffer 20 andsecond buffer 22 may have a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes and can be made of flexible material, such as rubber. A top of thebase 21 of the present invention can be installed with an alert indication 24 for alerting the drivers. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , it is illustrated that a bottom of thebase 21 of the present invention is installed with ananchor 23 for locking thebase 21 to the load. - With referring to
FIG. 4 , it is illustrated that the protection barriers of the present invention can be arranged longitudinally between two lanes for isolation or aside a lane for preventing a vehicle to run out of the lane. - Referring to
FIGS. 5 and 6 , when adriver 3, it is illustrated that a car run out of a lane, it must impact the protection barrier firstly, while the buffers of the present invention provide buffer effect to the vehicle so as to protection the bottom of thevehicle 3 from destroy. Thefirst buffer 20 andsecond buffer 22 provide a dual friction effect. - The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
Claims (8)
1. A protection barrier including a base, the base having a great lower side and a small topside; the base expanding from the topside to the lower side gradually; each of two lateral sides of the base being installed with a first buffer for buffering and resisting impacts from vehicles.
2. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the base has an approximate triangle shape with each apex being frustrated.
3. The protection gird as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of the two lateral sides of the base having a second buffer.
4. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a ground anchor is installed to a bottom of the base.
5. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first buffer is a rubber ring.
6. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second buffer is a rubber ring.
7. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first buffer has a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes.
8. The protection barrier as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second buffer has a shape selected from semi-round shapes, semi-elliptical shapes, and other cambered shapes.
