Abstract
A securing device for paint ball gun includes an adjustment member connected to a barrel and a positioning member has an end pivotably connected to the adjustment member. The adjustment member includes a contact end for contacting an end of the air bottle and an operation end which is located outside of the barrel. A curved groove is defined in an outer surface of the adjustment member. The positioning member includes a space defined between two sidewalls thereof such that a part of the air bottle is supported. A pin is fixed to the barrel and engaged with the curved groove. When pivoting the positioning member about the axis of the adjustment member, the adjustment member moved axially due to the engagement of the pin and the curved groove and the air bottle can be removed from the paint ball gun.
Description
- (1) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to an air bottle securing device for paint ball gun and more particularly, to a securing device that is easily operate to secure the air bottle.
- (2) Description of the Prior Art
- There are two ways to attach the pressurized air bottle to the paintball gun, the first way is to connect the air bottle outside of the barrel and the second way is to install the air bottle in the barrel. The second way usually connects the air bottle to the barrel or the handle. For the one that the air bottle is connected to the barrel, the barrel includes a chamber which is parallel to the barrel and the air bottle is then inserted into the chamber from an opening located beside the muzzle of the barrel. A stop bolt is then seals the opening to prevent dropping of the air bottle. However, if the length or size of the air bottle is not precise as expected, one end of the air tube might protrude out from the chamber or the bottle cannot be engaged with a communication hole of the barrel.
- Another way to position the air bottle is that a push part is provided in the chamber so as to push the air bottle toward the communication hole to ensure the connection of the air bottle and the communication hole in the barrel. Nevertheless, the push part can only push the air bottle in horizontal direction and there is no support force in the vertical direction so that the air bottle might drop due to shaking of the force in the vertical direction.
- The present invention intends to provide a securing device for the air bottle and the device provides both securing forces in horizontal or vertical directions to provide a reliable and secure way to the air bottle.
- The present invention relates to a securing device for paint ball gun and the securing device comprises an adjustment member which is connected to a barrel and has a contact end and an operation end. The contact end contacts an end of an air bottle and the operation end is located outside of the barrel. A curved groove is defined in an outer surface of the adjustment member. A positioning member has an end pivotably connected to the adjustment member and located close to the operation end. A space is defined in the positioning member so as to receive a part of the air bottle. A pin is fixed to the barrel and engaged with the curved groove. When pivoting the positioning member about an axis of the adjustment member, the adjustment member is moved axially while the pin moves in the curved groove such that the air bottle can be released.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide an air bottle securing device for a paint ball gun and includes a positioning member which provides support in vertical direction to the air bottle. The positioning member can be pivoted in two directions to release the air bottle conveniently.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the securing device of the present invention and the securing device is connected to the barrel and secures the air bottle; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show the securing device of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 shows a air bottle is secured by the securing device of the present invention; -
FIG. 3A is an enlarged view to show that the contact member contacts an end of the air bottle; -
FIG. 4 shows that the positioning member is pivoted about the pivot point with the adjustment member; -
FIG. 4A is an enlarged view to show that the positioning member is pivoted about the pivot point with the adjustment member; -
FIG. 4B shows an end view of the status inFIG. 4A ; -
FIG. 5 shows that the positioning member is pivoted about the axis of the adjustment member, and -
FIG. 6 shows that the air bottle is released from the adjustment member. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 , 2, 3 and 3A, the securingdevice 10 for a paint ball gun of the present invention comprises anadjustment member 20 and apositioning member 30, wherein theadjustment member 20 is connected beneath thebarrel 1 of the paint ball gun and has acontact end 21 and anoperation end 22. The operation end 22 of theadjustment member 20 has aknob 221 connected thereto and thecontact end 21 of theadjustment member 20 has acontact member 211 connected thereto which moves axially when rotating theknob 221. Areceiving space 2 is defined between thecontact member 211 and the body of the paint ball gun, such that anair bottle 3 is received in thereceiving space 2. Theair bottle 3 includes an outlet (not shown) which is in communication with a communication hole (not shown) in thebarrel 1 so as to introduce pressurized air into thebarrel 1. Thecontact member 211 on thecontact end 21 contacts an end of theair bottle 3 and theoperation end 22 is located outside of thebarrel 1. Acurved groove 23 is defined in an outer surface of theadjustment member 20. - The
positioning member 30 has an end pivotably connected to theadjustment member 20 and the pivot point is located close to theoperation end 22. Thepositioning member 30 includes two sidewalls with a transverse plate connected between the two sidewalls. Aspace 31 is defined in thepositioning member 30 such that a part of theair bottle 3 is received in thespace 31 and supported by the transverse plate. Anotch 32 is defined in a top edge of one of the sidewalls and apin 40 is fixed to thebarrel 1 and engaged with thenotch 32. - The position of the
contact member 211 can be adjusted to firmly contact theair bottle 3 if the lengths of theair bottles 3 are slightly different. - Referring to
FIGS. 4 , 4A and 4B, when releasing theair bottle 3, thepositioning member 30 is pivoted about the pivot point, thenotch 32 is removed from thepin 40 which is still engaged with thecurved groove 23. Thepositioning member 30 is then pivoted about an axis of theadjustment member 20 as shown inFIGS. 5 and 6 . The pivotal action about the axis of theadjustment member 20 of thepositioning member 30 rotates theadjustment member 20 which is moved in a direction away from theair bottle 3 with the guidance of thepin 40 in thecurved groove 23. Therefore, thecontact member 211 is disengaged from theair bottle 3 and theair bottle 3 is released from thesecuring device 10. - The
securing device 10 can firmly secure theair bottles 3 of different lengths and theair bottle 3 is supported in horizontal and vertical direction when thebarrel 1 is oriented horizontally. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
