Abstract

A base part for a shower stall or a kitchen includes a floor with a peripheral side extending from a top thereof and the peripheral side includes an installation portion which includes an installation side and a fixing side. The installation side has a flat and horizontal top surface and a groove is defined in the flat and horizontal top surface of the installation side such that wall such as glass wall is engaged. The fixing side is connected to a wall. The floor includes protrusions extending from a top surface thereof so as to form a non-slip surface. A drain hole is defined through the floor when necessary.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a base part for a stall such as a shower stall, the base part provides grooves for glass wall and/or door to be installed and drain hole for draining.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional doorsill generally includes a base part which is fixed on the floor between two sides of a door case and an elongate stop extends from the top surface of the base part so that the door can be stopped by the elongate stop. The elongate stop includes an inclined surface and the door is secured a rubber plate on a lower end thereof so as to match with the inclined surface to prevent from water entering the interior and entrance of bugs. However, the elongate stop has only one side to connect the door and there is no support on the other side of the elongate stop. The elongate stop tends to loose after being frequent hit by the door. Besides, the conventional doorsill can only used to prevent water from entering the room from outside of the door and cannot used for a shower stall or kitchen where water may stay on the floor and should be stopped to flow out.
The present invention intends to provide a base part for shower stalls or kitchens and the base part is an integral part with grooves for glass wall to be installed and raised sides and drain hole to prevent water from flowing out from the inside of the shower stall or kitchen.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a base part for a shower stall or a kitchen and the base part comprises a floor with a peripheral side extending from a top thereof The peripheral side includes an installation portion which has an installation side with a flat and horizontal top surface. A groove is defined in the flat and horizontal top surface of the installation side so that a wall can be installed to the groove. The floor includes protrusions extending from a top surface thereof so as to form a non-slip surface.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a base part for a shower stall or a kitchen and the base part includes peripheral wall for being installed with walls and door, the floor includes a non-slip surface and a drain hole. The base part effectively prevents water from leaking from inside to outside of the shower stall or kitchen.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a base part for a shower stall or a kitchen wherein the glass wall is inserted into the groove and clamped by the two sidewalls of the groove so that it is secured and free of leakage.
Yet object of the present invention is to provide a base part for a shower stall or a kitchen wherein the installation side of the peripheral wall can be made to desired shapes so as to meet requirements of different installation needs.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show the base part of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view to show that a wall is inserted into the groove and fixed to the ground or floor by a bolt;

FIG. 5 shows a shower stall with a curved glass wall and door;

FIG. 6 shows a shower stall wherein the groove includes multiple sections;

FIG. 7 is a cross sectional view of another embodiment of the base part of the present invention, and

FIG. 8 shows that upright portions are connected perpendicularly from the peripheral wall of the base part and a wall is connected between the upright portions and is connected to the fixing side.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the base part 1 of the present invention for a shower stall of a kitchen comprises a floor 3 with a peripheral side extending from a top thereof and the peripheral side includes an installation portion 2. A plurality of protrusions 31 extend from a top surface of the floor 3 so as to form a non-slip surface. The installation portion 2 includes an installation side 21 and a fixing side 33 which is integrally connected with the installation side 21 so as to enclose the periphery of the floor 3. The installation side 21 has a flat and horizontal top surface and a groove 22 is defined in the flat and horizontal top surface of the installation side 21. A drain hole 32 is defined through the floor 3 when necessary.
A wall such as a glass wall or any known wall used in interior design is securely inserted into the groove 22 and the wall can be cooperated with a bolt as shown in FIG. 4 at a lower end of the wall, the bolt extends through the base part 3 and fixed to the ground or floor.
As shown in FIG. 5, the installation side 21 can be a curved side and the glass wall together with the glass door are curved so as to be engaged with the groove 22. The fixing side 33 is fixed to the wall of the room. A top is mounted to the glass wall and the door to form a shower stall.
FIG. 6 shows that the groove 22 includes two separated sections so as to define an opening between two galls walls. The number of the sections can be made as needed. FIG. 7 shows that a recess 23 is defined in an underside of the peripheral side of the base part so as to reduce weight and save material.
FIG. 8 shows that two upright portions 24 are connected perpendicularly from the peripheral side and located on two distal ends of the groove 21 and an elongate groove is defined in each of the upright portions 24 and communicates with the groove 22 in the installation side 21. A wall 25 is connected between the upright portions 24 and connected to the fixing side 33. The top and the glass wall and door are not shown and can be installed to the groove and the elongate groove. By this arrangement, the shower stall is an independent unit and can be set without using any room wall.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A base part comprising:

a floor with a peripheral side extending from a top thereof and the peripheral side including an installation portion, the installation portion including an installation side which has a flat and horizontal top surface, a groove defined in the flat and horizontal top surface of the installation side, the floor including protrusions extending from a top surface thereof.

2. The base part as claimed in claim 1, wherein the peripheral side includes a fixing side which is integrally connected with the installation side so as to be together with the installation side to enclose a periphery of the floor.

3. The base part as claimed in claim 1, wherein a drain hole is defined through the floor.

4. The base part as claimed in claim 1, wherein a wall is securely inserted into the groove.

5. The base part as claimed in claim 4, wherein the wall is connected with a bolt which extends into the groove and penetrates through the base part to fix to the ground.

6. The base part as claimed in claim 1, wherein the groove includes multiple separated sections.

7. The base part as claimed in claim 2, wherein upright portions are connected perpendicularly from the peripheral side and an elongate groove is defined in each of the upright portions and communicates with the groove in the installation side, a wall is connected between the upright portions and connected to the fixing side.

8. The base part as claimed in claim 1, wherein a recess is defined in an underside of the peripheral side.
