  • The invention relates to sanitary covers, and more particularly, to a sanitary cover for a birthday cake that includes a plurality of recesses for securely holding candles therein.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Everyone has a birthday every year, and the common custom of blowing out candles on a birthday cake and making a wish remains strong. However, your cake, whether bought from a supermarket or made at a bakery or at home, requires that the candles be stuck directly therein. After you blow out the candles, and pull the candles out of the cake, divots are left that ruin the cake's appearance. But, that's not the most important problem. The blowing out of the candles presents an even bigger dilemma because when someone blows out the candles they inevitable blow out saliva, food spat, and thousands of germs. Who wants to eat a cake with live bacteria and germs sprayed thereon? In addition, everyone who has been to a child's birthday party knows that there is always the curious finger or two dipped into the frosting. The current invention seeks to eliminate these problems entirely.
  • United States Pat. Application No. 2003/136277 to Okros discloses a transparent dessert cover designed to shield cakes from germs resulting particularly from those attempting to blow out candles.
