Abstract
Provided is a thin-type glasses case for lens protection which is handy to carry in a pocket by realizing a thin shape, and is also suitable to completely protect glasses lenses by preventing the lenses from contacting with the inside of the case.
Description
- The present invention relates to a glasses case, and more particularly, to a thin-type glasses case for lens protection which is handy to carry in a pocket by realizing a thin shape, and is also suitable to completely protect glasses lenses by preventing the lenses from contacting with the inside of the case.

FIG. 1 shows a use state view of a glasses case according to the prior art. As shown inFIG. 1 , theglasses case 1 according to the prior art is configured to store the entire part of theglasses 10 including glass legs. - However, the
glasses case 1 according to the prior art had the following problems. - First, in case the
glasses 10 are stored in theglasses case 1, theentire glasses 10 including the glass legs have to be stored inside theglasses case 1. This inevitably increases the volume of theglasses case 1, resultantly making it very inconvenient to carry and store the glasses case. - Especially, such a
glasses case 1 having a large volume cannot be stored, for example, in a pocket of Y-shirts. Further, in case glasses are worn and taken off repeatedly like sunglasses, the inconvenience of carrying became a more serious problem. - Second, the
glasses case 1 according to the prior art has a problem that a scratch is generated on the lenses because the lenses of theglasses 10 are contacted with the bottom surface of theglasses case 1 when theglasses 10 are stored in theglasses case 1. - Moreover, even if a piece of cloth is worn on the bottom surface in order to solve the aforementioned problem of a scratch on the lenses, the cloth gets worn out if it is used for a long period of time. In addition, if there is a severe movement, a scratch is generated on the lenses even if a piece of cloth is worn thereon.
- Third, there are a lot of empty spaces between the glasses and the
glasses case 1. Due to such empty spaces, if a severe shock or external force is applied to theglasses case 1, theglasses 10 undergoes a severe movement or shaking, thereby leading to the problem of a scratch on the lenses or a damage to the glasses. - The present invention has been made in view of the above drawbacks, and it is, therefore, a primary object of the present invention to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which realizes a thin shape to make it handy to carry in a pocket of clothes by taking glass legs to the outside and storing only glass lenses inside the case.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which is suitable to completely protect lenses by forming protruded rims having a cushion along the inner circumference of the glasses case so as to engage with each other and inserting a lens frame between the protruded rims engaging with each other, to thereby protect the lenses from contacting with the glasses case.
- Still another object of the present invention is to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which is suitable to completely protect the glasses to be stored in the glasses case without any movement even at an external shock by inserting a lens frame between cushion protruded rims configured to correspond to each other and engage with each other.
- Still yet another object of the present invention is to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which is suitable for preventing impurities such as dust from entering into the glasses case by forming glass leg holes for taking out glass legs and providing a packing and a sealing member for blocking impurities from entering into the glass leg holes.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which is suitable to simply and quickly close the glasses case by a hook and automatically open the closed glasses case by an elastic force of a spring.
- A still further object of the present invention is to provide a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which is suitable to safely protect glasses without movement even if frameless glasses or lenses are very small by the configuration of an elastic stopper holder.
- In accordance with the present invention for achieving the above-mentioned objects, there is provided a thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which stores
glasses 10 comprising alens frame 12 with lenses L fitted thereto,glass legs 11 including a rotatingportion 11 a and astationary portion 11 b, and anose bridge 13, comprising: alower case 110 including a pair of lower glassleg half holes 111 recessed at left and right sides of anouter circumference 110 a, a lower cushion protrudedrim 114 provided at a predetermined thickness on abottom surface 110 b along the edges of thebottom surface 110 b and having a cushion, and alower hinge 115 formed integrally on the rear side of theouter circumference 110 a; anupper case 120 including a pair of upper glassleg half holes 121 recessed on anouter circumference 120 a at positions corresponding to the lower glassleg half holes 111, an upper cushion protrudedbrim 124 provided on abottom surface 120 b at a pre-determined thickness along the edges of thebottom surface 120 b and having a cushion, anupper hinge 125 formed integrally on the rear side of theouter circumference 120 a, and anose bridge mount 120 b which is a space for mounting anose bridge 13 thereon; and ahinge shaft 135 for hingeably coupling theupper hinge 125 and thelower hinge 115, wherein if theupper case 120 is closed by thelower case 110, theglass legs 11 are placed outside the glasses case throughglass leg holes 101 formed by the lower glassleg half holes 111 and the upper glassleg half holes 121, and if theupper case 120 is closed by thelower case 110, the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 correspond to each other and engage with each other in order to insert and hold thelens frame 12 between thebottom surfaces bottom surfaces - The thin-type glasses case for lens protection according to the present invention has the following effects.
- First, a glasses case is made in a very thin type by taking out
glass legs 11 and storing only glass lenses L in the case by the configuration ofglass leg holes 101, so that it can be conveniently carried in a pocket of clothing. - Second, cushion protruded
rims lens frame 12 is inserted between the cushion protrudedrims - As a result, the lenses can be completely protected without a scratch.
- Third, the
lens frame 12 is inserted between the cushion protrudedrims - Fourth,
glass leg holes 101 for taking out the glass legs andpackings members glass leg holes 101 are provided, thereby preventing impurities such as dust from entering into the glasses case. As a result, the glass lenses L are blocked from contaminants so that they can be stored cleanly. - Fifth, the glasses case can be simply and quickly closed by a
hook 126, and the closed glasses case can be automatically opened by an elastic force of aspring 137. - Seventh, the
elastic stopper holder 150 is formed at one of left and right sides of thebottom surface 110 b of thelower case 110 so that theglasses 10 can be stored securely without movement. - The above objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 11 is a use state view of a thin-type glasses case for lens protection according to the present invention. - Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of a thin-type glasses case for lens protection according to the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- The present invention is directed to a thin-type glasses case for lens protection which is suitable for protecting only lenses rather than the entire glasses.
- As shown in
FIGS. 2 to 6 , the thin-type glasses case for lens protection according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises alower case 110, anupper case 120, and ahinge shaft 135. - The
lower case 110 is composed of a pair of lower glassleg half holes 111 recessed at left and right sides of anouter circumference 110 a, a lower cushion protrudedrim 114 provided at a predetermined thickness on abottom surface 110 b along the edges of thebottom surface 110 b and having a cushion, and alower hinge 115 formed integrally on the rear side of theouter circumference 110 a. - The
upper case 120 is composed of a pair of upper glassleg half holes 121 recessed on anouter circumference 120 a at positions corresponding to the lower glassleg half holes 111, an upper cushion protrudedbrim 124 provided on abottom surface 120 b at a predetermined thickness along the edges of thebottom surface 120 b and having a cushion, anupper hinge 125 formed integrally on the rear side of theouter circumference 120 a, and anose bridge mount 120 b which is a space for mounting anose bridge 13 thereon. - The lower glass
leg half holes 111 and the upper glassbridge half holes 121 can be implemented, for example, in a □-shaped recess as shown inFIG. 6 or in a semicircular shape as shown inFIG. 7 . - The
hinge shaft 135 hingeably couples theupper hinge 125 and thelower hinge 115. - If the
upper case 120 is closed by thelower case 110, theglass legs 11 are placed outside the glasses case throughglass leg holes 101 formed by the lower glassleg half holes 111 and the upper glassleg half holes 121. - If the
upper case 120 is closed by thelower case 110, the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 correspond to each other and engage with each other in order to insert and hold alens frame 12 between thebottom surfaces bottom surfaces - Further, a
curved portion 110 a is formed at the front center of theouter circumference 110 a, and ahook 126 for hooking on thecurved portion 110 a is formed integrally with theouter circumference 120 a at the front side of theouter circumference 120 a. - A
bent portion 126 a sloped and bent outward in order to easily apply a force outward is formed at an end of thehook 126. - A
lower packing 112 and anupper packing 122 are further included which are fitted and fastened to the lower glass bridge half holes 111 and the upper glass leg half holes 121 and have elasticity. - The
lower packing 112 and theupper packing 122 can be implemented, for example, in a □-shaped recess as shown inFIG. 6 or in a semicircular shape as shown inFIG. 7 , like the lower glass leg half holes 111 and the upper glass leg half holes 121. - Preferably, the
lower packing 112 and theupper packing 122 are further provided with alower sealing member 113 and anupper sealing member 123, respectively, in order to prevent impurities such as dust from the outside from entering. - Each of the
lower sealing member 113 and theupper sealing member 123 is preferably implemented by using a sponge. - In order to apply an elastic force when the
upper case 120 is opened, aspring 137 is further included which is coupled to thehinge shaft 135 and provided at thelower hinge 115 and theupper hinge 125. - The lower cushion protruded
rim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 are preferably implemented by using a rubber material having a cushion. - According to another embodiment of the present invention, each of the lower cushion protruded
rim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 are preferably implemented by a sponge. - As shown in
FIGS. 9 and 10 , according to still another embodiment of the present invention, anelastic stopper holder 150 is further included. - The
elastic stopper holder 150 is formed at one of left and right sides of thebottom surface 110 b of thelower case 110 to stop and holdstationary portions 11 b of theglass legs 11 by an elastic force. - That is, since the
stationary portions 11 b of theglass legs 11 are held by an elastic force by the configuration of theelastic stopper holder 150, for example, even when the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 cannot be used because there is nolens frame 12 as in frameless glasses or the like and the lenses L are small, theglasses 10 can be safely stored in the glasses case without movement. - Moreover, the
elastic stopper holder 150 can be implemented by using a rubber material having elasticity or soft plastic material, and provided at thebottom surface 110 b of thelower case 110, for example, by an adhesive. - Next, the operation of the thin-type glasses case for lens protection according to the present invention having the configuration set forth above will be described in detail.
- First, if the
glasses 10 are stored in thelower case 110, thelens frame 12 portion of the glasses is placed on the lower cushion protrudedrim 114, and if theupper case 120 is closed, the upper cushion protrudedrim 124 and the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 correspond to each other and engage with each other to thus firmly hold thelens frame 12 by an elastic force. - As a result, the lenses L of the glasses are not contacted with any surface in the
glasses case 100, so that there are no concerns about possibility of scratch. - Additionally, because the upper cushion protruded
rim 124 and the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 firmly hold thelens frame 12 by an elastic force, theglasses 10 are stably mounted in theglasses case 100 without any movement even if an external shock is applied to theglasses case 100. - The following is a detailed description for the case where impurities such as dust do not enter into the
glasses case 100. - As shown in
FIG. 6 or 7, with theglass legs 11 being taken out through the glass leg holes 101, theglass legs 11 can be protected by a pair ofpackings - Further, the sealing
members packings stationary portions 11 b) can be further protected and fine dust from the outside can be more completely prevented from entering into the glasses case. - Next, the operation of opening and closing the glasses case will be described.
- If the glasses case is desired to be closed, the
upper case 120 is closed by thelower case 110 to thus fasten thehook 126 to thecurved portion 110 a in a hook fashion, thereby making fastening simple. - Meanwhile, if the glasses case is desired to be opened, as shown in
FIG. 4 , thebent portion 126 a of thehook 126 is automatically opened by an elastic force of thespring 137 by applying a slight external force thereto in an arrow direction. - Next, the operation of the
elastic stopper holder 150 will be described. - If the
stationary portion 11 b of theglass leg 11 is inserted into theelastic stopper holder 150 in a downward direction from above, theelastic stopper holder 150 widens by elasticity to accept thestationary portion 11 b of theglass leg 11 and at the same time firmly hold thestationary portion 11 b of theglass leg 11 by an elastic restoration force. - As a result, the
glass 10 can be stored, being fixed firmly without any movement in the case. Of course, there is no scratch generated on the lenses L. - Especially, the
elastic stopper holder 150 can be used more usefully in case the lower cushion protrudedrim 114 and the upper cushion protrudedbrim 124 cannot be used because there is nolens frame 12 as in, for example, frameless glasses, and the lenses L are small. - In addition, since the
stationary portion 11 b of the glass leg is elastically stopped and held by theelastic stopper holder 150, the lenses L are not contacted with thebottom surface 11 b, which prevents a scratch on the lenses L. - While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
Claims (10)
1. A thin-type glasses case for lens protection, which stores glasses 10 comprising a lens frame 12 with lenses L fitted thereto, glass legs 11 composed of a rotating portion 11 a and a stationary portion 11 b, and a nose bridge 13, comprising:
a lower case 110 including a pair of lower glass leg half holes 111 recessed at left and right sides of an outer circumference 110 a, a lower cushion protruded rim 114 provided at a predetermined thickness on a bottom surface 110 b along the edges of the bottom surface 110 b and having a cushion, and a lower hinge 115 formed integrally on the rear side of the outer circumference 110 a;
an upper case 120 including a pair of upper glass leg half holes 121 recessed on an outer circumference 120 a at positions corresponding to the lower glass leg half holes 111, an upper cushion protruded brim 124 provided on a bottom surface 120 b at a predetermined thickness along the edges of the bottom surface 120 b and having a cushion, an upper hinge 125 formed integrally on the rear side of the outer circumference 120 a, and a nose bridge mount 120 b which is a space for mounting a nose bridge 13 thereon; and
a hinge shaft 135 for hingeably coupling the upper hinge 125 and the lower hinge 115,
wherein if the upper case 120 is closed by the lower case 110, the glass legs 11 are placed outside the glasses case through glass leg holes 101 formed by the lower glass leg half holes 111 and the upper glass leg half holes 121, and if the upper case 120 is closed by the lower case 110, the lower cushion protruded rim 114 and the upper cushion protruded rim 124 correspond to each other and engage with each other in order to insert and hold the lens frame 12 between the bottom surfaces 110 b and 120 b so that the lenses L are not contacted with the bottom surfaces 110 b and 120 b.
2. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 1 , wherein a curved portion 110 a is formed at the front center of the outer circumference 110 a, and a hook 126 for hooking on the curved portion 110 a is formed integrally with the outer circumference 120 a at the front side of the outer circumference 120 a.
3. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 2 , wherein a bent portion 126 a sloped and bent outward in order to easily apply a force outward is formed at an end of the hook 126.
4. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 3 , further comprising a lower packing 112 and an upper packing 122 which are fitted and fastened to the lower glass bridge half holes 111 and the upper glass leg half holes 121 and have elasticity.
5. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 4 , wherein the lower packing 112 and the upper packing 122 further comprise a lower sealing member 113 and an upper sealing member 123 to be attached to the lower packing 112 and the upper packing 122, respectively, in order to prevent impurities such as dust from the outside from entering.
6. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 5 , further comprising a spring 137 which is coupled to the hinge shaft 135 and provided at the lower hinge 115 and the upper hinge 125 in order to apply an elastic force when the upper case 120 is opened.
7. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 1 , further comprising an elastic stopper holder 150 which is formed at one of left and right sides of the bottom surface 110 b of the lower case 110 to stop and hold stationary portions 11 b of the glass legs 11 by an elastic force.
8. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 6 , further comprising an elastic stopper holder 150 which is formed at one of left and right sides of the bottom surface 110 b of the lower case 110 to stop and hold stationary portions 11 b of the glass legs 11 by an elastic force.
9. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 7 , wherein the lower cushion protruded rim 114 and the upper cushion protruded rim 124 are implemented by using a rubber material having a cushion or sponge.
10. The thin-type glasses case for lens protection of claim 8 , wherein the lower cushion protruded rim 114 and the upper cushion protruded rim 124 are implemented by using a rubber material having a cushion or sponge.
