Therefore, this exercising machine has featured for you to exercise a handstand, sit-up, and knee folding-spreading and to use it as a bed or couch equipped with heating function.

- This invention is about exercising machine that makes-people able to practice a handstand, sit-up and knee folding-spreading while lying down on the bed. In more detail, this is a multipurpose exercise machine composed of a rectangle bottom frame(111) on which 2 columns(112) stand at the one end and two jib bearing supports(113) sits at the other end, and an upper frame(150) that is fixed on the bottom frame(111) but can be reversed or separated; the upper frame is attached on top with a mat(300) that can be folded or unfolded by force of air cylinders(400,600), a function to serve by thus as a bed or swivel chair at normal time as well as a sport outfit for a variety of exercises like handstand, situp or knee stretching. This invention can be used easily and conveniently for any purpose one intends since it is worked by for- and backward motion of driving shaft and/or bearing propelled by pneumatic reciprocation of air cylinder.

There are various exercising machines in the market including the machine mentioned above and they are widely used for keeping people's health and physical tone. But, as the existing exercising machines are very limited to use in application, they can be only used for one of either, handstand or sit-up. Moreover, the user just hangs only from the machine in case of exercising a handstand and can not do any other exercises to gain a direct improvement on health and physical power by using the machine. In the case of exercising a sit-up, this exercise is definitely necessary for the persons who are fat, or in a bad condition physically, or in a pain of the waist, but none of the existing ones can not serve well enough for this purpose. And also the existing exercising machines have an inconvenience in providing the users to maintain the position of lying down or the rest after stopping the exercise. Since the existing market does not have this type of exercising machine including the function of exercising a knee joint, and the persons working for a long time a day or elderly persons or the patients having an aftereffect of an injury could not only practice enough but also these are far from the machine with heating device that makes people relaxed warmly when using the mat.
- Therefore, this inventor has studied about the multi-purpose exercising machine that provides the users with the following advantages:

switch control panel(570). - To satisfy the above purpose, this invention is characteristically structured with a rectangle bottom frame(111) on which two columns(11) stand at the one end and two jib bearing supports(113) with the driving shaft for handstand sits at the other end, and an upper frame(150) that is fixed with the driving shaft(153) for handstand on the one end and two rods on the other end connecting rods(152) fixing the above-mentioned mat.
- To the one side of the bottom frame(111) in the lower frame(100) is attached the channel(114) of the hinge assembly on the head side of the air cylinder for the handstand, and between the connecting rods(152) on the upper frame(150) is attached the assembly plate(155) of the Jib bearings on the rod side of the air cylinder(200) for a handstand. However, it is featured to design the upper frame(150) to be entirely unbalanced in order for the driving shaft(153) get positioned about 120 mm lowered than the mat support frame(151).
- This invention can be utilized more effectively by exercising handstand with help of air cylinder(200) that links the above-described channel(114) and jib bearing assembling plate(155) and also practicing sit-up supported by air cylinder(400) that is fixed between the connecting rods(152) and mat(300) back. You can, of course, simply exercise a sit-up while lying down on the bed.
- The additional effects for this invention are as follows:

- You will get a big help for a knee joint movement because you can exercise a knee folding-spreading while lying down on the machine by operating the air cylinder(600) connected to the calf and hip on the mat floor.
- You can easily and conveniently move this machine with rather less force when you want to move it because you can use transporting wheels(710) to move it.
- You can use this machine as a heating device to warm up by supplying electricity to the mat(300) inserted heating wires(370) when you use it as a bed or couch in the cold weather and keep warm enough without heating device separately.
- You can use this machine more conveniently when you read books or watch TV while sitting on the machine by attaching an armrest(340) just on the link device(310) of the mat(300).
- This machine is equipped with the safety device for the users to use with ease by placing air vent valve in the middle of air hose(560) connected to the solenoid valve(530) and the port of the air cylinder(200) head for a handstand in preparation with the failure of power supply while you are in a hand-stand.

The examples will be later explained. Before describing it, this invention is comprised of the mat(300) inserted heating wires which is divided into body's waist and knee; link device(310) for sit-up; hinge(330) for knee folding; upper frame(150) that is able to upside down and stand upright with the driving shaft centered; lower frame(100) that provides upper frame with the place to be located at a certain height from the ground; air compressor(500); air filter(510); solenoid valves(520,530,540,550); air hose(560); air cylinders(200,400,600,700); electrical switch panel(570); transporting wheels(710) that enable the machine to move easily with rather less forces; this is featured with the mentioned above for a hand-stand and sit-up
- Therefore, this exercising machine is a multi-purpose systematic unit that works with the above elements combined, and it can be used not only for handstand, sit-up, and knee folding-spreading and lifting, but also for a bed or couch equipped with heating function.

FIG. 1 is a squint drawing of the existing exercising machine for a hand-stand. - This shows a exercising unit which consists of two supports(20) installed on the upper part of the main body(10), driving shaft of the backboard(40) supported which is installed between the supports with shaft holder(30) at the upper part, foot fixing part(50) at lower backboard, that are all for exercising a handstand.

FIG. 2 is a squint drawing of the existing exercising machine for a sit-up. - It consists of a moving plate(10) that is connected to a base plate(10), and also can be rotating together with it and so on. Once the user lies down, the lower part of the user's body below his hip comes to the contact point, and the moving plate(12) comes to the part where the user contacts. And the moving plate(12) is connected to the base plate, and able to rotate together with it, and is supported elastically with the spring(20) on the back side.

FIG. 3 is showing the frame structure of the exercising machine by this invention. - This frame structure is that, first of all, the columns(112) are installed at two points on the edge at one end of rectangular bottom frame(111), respectively, and at the other end on the opposite side, there is the lower frame(100) with the supports(113) for Jib bearings(210) which are set up at the left and right in position. This is to install the driving shaft(153) to make it upside down and stand it upright. The channel(114) should be intersected to attach the hinge(240B) of air cylinder(200) head for a handstand at the two supports(113) on the bottom frame(111).
- It is recommended for the form of the supports is like a trapezoid and the columns(112) should be installed upright, and about 120 mm higher than the supports(113).
- Next is about the upper frame(150) that is formed by attaching the connecting rods(152) between the mat support(151) and driving shaft(153) for making upside down.
- The mat support is not fixed on the columns(112), but sit on the columns(112); driving shaft(153) is combined as a mean of fixing by using the flange(154) and connecting rods(152) which is positioned lower than this with the form of stair and, with the plate(155) intersecting between the two connecting rods(152), Jib bearings(220) of air cylinder(200) rod side for handstand can be attached. Therefore, this exercising machine performs a handstand by moving up and down the separated one from the columns(112), which is centered with driving shaft(153) by the act of air cylinder(200) connected to the upper frame(150) plate and the lower frame channel(114).

FIG. 4 is the front and side view of the mat of the exercising machine by this invention. - The surface of the mat(300) that is contacted directly to the people's body while exercising or resting should be the materials with soft and cushioned, and the other hand, the material for the bottom and edge of the mat should be hard enough so that other attachments can be easily fixed together.
- In order to use this machine for multipurpose, it is intersected and divided the part where the user's waist is to be placed, and is attached to the link devices(310) for a sit-up on the both sides divided, and by dividing the part of the knee, the hinges(330) for a knee folding at the both ends of divided part(refer to
FIG. 7 ) are attached. - The reason that divides it into in the shape, not intersect divide the whole part of the knee is that the part of the knee can be folded away from the columns(112) because the mat support(151) are placed on the columns(112). This exercising machine is included with heating wires(370) inserted, and equipped with power supply and ON/OFF switch(380) outside as a warm-up function, therefore the mat keeps itself warm without the separate heating device when you take a rest with lying or sit down on the exercising machine in the cold weather.
- You can now exercise a sit-up by straightening up or lying down the backboard, and exercise a knee folding-spreading to help your knee joint. When you are exercising a sit-up with this machine, the foot fixing unit(320) is provided to secure your feet for your safety.

FIG. 5 is the side view of the exercising machine by this invention. Connecting link devices(310) by dividing the part of the waist, the lower part of the waist is attached on the mat support frame(151) and its upper part has the mat(300) that is just placed on the two spots of the driving shaft(153); air compressor(500) with the power supply that produces and stores a pressurized air; air filter(510) that filters out foreign materials such as moisture in the air, etc.; solenoid valves(520,530,540,550) that sends the filtered air to each air cylinder port according to the electrical signal; air cylinders(200,400,600,700) that create a linear reciprocation by air-flowing into the rod and head ports from the solenoid valve; driving shaft(153) that makes the machine work to do a handstand by converting a linear movement of the cylinder to rotating movement; link devices(310) for a sit-up; and this includes hinges(330) for knee folding. - And an additional feature for this exercising machine is that there are the transporting wheels(710) attached to the end of air cylinder(700) rod for lifting in order to move it easily. Therefore, when you want to use the wheels, pressing the wheel button on the switch panel(570) makes the cylinder rod move down and let the transporting wheels go down lower than the bottom frame(111) of the lower frame(100) and then you can move it easily with less force, and when you press the other button, the cylinder(700) rod will go up and the transporting wheels(710) returns into the housing and then the bottom frame becomes to contact the ground.
- The way to install the cylinders in the machine is as follows:
- 1st. In case of the air cylinder(200) for a handstand, assemble the head side with the hinge(240) on the channel(114) intersected the bottom frame(111) which is located in the center, and install one cylinder only in the center of the plate(155) which is intersected connecting rods(152) using Jib bearing(220) and bearing shaft(230).
- 2nd. Two cylinders(400) are to be installed; the one at head side is to assemble using the hinge and adaptors(430A,B) of connecting rods(152) in the left and right position, respectively, and the other at rod side is to connect two cylinders(400) in parallel using the mat(300) backboard, assembling units(420), and shaft(410) attached as a fixing tool.
- Between the left and right hinges(430) are connected with the hinge support(440) in order to prevent it from the movement of the cylinders(400) during a sit-up (refer to
FIG. 10 ). - 3rd. Air cylinder(600) for a knee folding-spreading is placed at the head side in the direction of the hip of the divided mat(300) on the part of the knee, and is placed at the rod side in the direction of the calf, and then just one cylinder is installed in the center of the mat support frame(151) combined with the hinges(610,620) each.
- 4th. In case of air cylinder(700) for lifting, install the cylinder vertically with the cylinder rod side, which is faced down, by attaching the pipe inside plugged and cylinder housing(720) to the four corners of the lower frame(100) floor inside—the cylinder housing and cylinder head will be assembled by the screws.
- In order for both cylinder ports to be connected easily with air hose(560), some portion of the housing(720) side should be opened and four cylinders(700) should be connected to operate with the same performance. In addition, the transporting wheels(710) assembled at the end of cylinder rod also should be entered into the housing by preventing the lower frame(100) side from interference.

FIG. 6 is the sit-up operation diagram of the exercising machine by this invention. - In order to exercise a sit-up using this machine, when you press UP button for a sit-up in the switch panel(570), the pressurized air passed through the solenoid valve(540) enters into the port of air cylinders(400) head and then push the mat(300) backboard upwards with the link devices(310) centered.
- When you want to return the backboard to the original position, press the DOWN button for a sit-up in the switch panel(570) and then the air enters into the port of the cylinders(400) rod side and makes the backboard return to the original position and finally it makes a sit-up that this invention intends.
- Moreover, if you want to exercise a sit-up powerfully, take a stable stance with the knee folded while you are in a handstand and then you will be getting the better effect of your exercise. The needle bearings(311,411) are used at the link devices(310) and rod shaft(410) in order to provide the soft and flexible exercise for a sit-up. The air hose(560) from the supply port of the solenoid valve(540) should be connected for the air to enter or discharge at the same time because two air cylinders(400) for a sit-up are installed at the left and right sides.
- However, besides the methods described above, it is apparent that you can do a sit-up with other method as long as the link devices(310) rotate forward and backward. For example, you can rotate the link devices(310) forward and backward using a motor and gear, and then you will have the same result in this case.

FIG. 7 is the example drawing for couch type using the exercising machine by this invention. - This exercising machine includes the solenoid valve(520) for knee folding-spreading, air cylinder(600) for knee folding, hinges(610,620) on cylinder rod and head sides, and other hinges(330). Using these elements, you can stretch your legs straight, and then take a rest while the backboard is in upright position, and if you press the DOWN button for the knee folding in the switch panel(570), the pressurized air passed through the solenoid valve(520) enters into the port of air cylinder(600) side for the knee-folding and then the divided part becomes folded downward with the shape of
- In the same way, if you press the UP button for the knee-folding in the switch panel in order to stretch your legs straight again, the air enters into the port of the cylinder head side and then the folded part returns upward to the original position and finally it makes a knee folding-spreading that this invention intends. Therefore, this exercise helps people who works a long time on their feet or gets a pain in their knee to relieve their fatigue and pain.
- However, besides the methods described above, it is apparent that you can do a knee folding-spreading with other method as long as the hinges(330) are folded and spread.

FIG. 8 shows the handstand operation using the exercising machine by this invention. - When you press the UP button for a sit-up in the switch panel(570) while you are lying down on the mat(300), the pressurized air discharged from the solenoid valve(530) connected electrically enters into the port of the air cylinder(200) head side, and then the separated part from the columns(112) goes upward with the driving shaft(153) on its axis and the head then goes down towards the floor and the legs towards the sky, and finally it able to make a sit-up that this invention intends.
- One point you must keep in mind before starting an exercise is to use the foot fixing unit(320) and to secure yourself safe.
- The method to use the foot fixing unit is to tighten your ankle with the belt. You can maximize an exercise effect if you do a sit-up by controlling the button for a sit-up while you are in a handstand after taking a stable stance with your knee folded as explained above. If you want to return back to the original position while you are in a sit-up position, press the DOWN button for a sit-up in the switch panel(570), and then the air enters into the port of the cylinder(200) rod side and the part that is in the upper position will be going down again with the driving shaft on its axis.
- At this time, if you use the Jib bearings(210) at both end of the driving shaft(153) in order to rotate the shaft forward and backward smoothly, the intended sit-up should be done very smoothly and softly. In preparation with electrical failure while you are in a handstand position, a manual air drain valve is installed at the middle point of the air hose(560) connected to the air cylinder head side port and supply port of solenoid valve(520).
- Besides the method described above, it is apparent that you can do a handstand with other method as long as the driving shaft(153) rotates forward and backward. For example, you can rotate the driving shaft(153) forward and backward using a motor and gear and then you will have the same result in this case.
- As described above, this exercise machine is designed to use without limitation of time and space to provide with whole body exercise and comfortable rest, which is essential to the people of today.
- This machine is the equipment that is combined with electrical and mechanical devices requiring basically the solidity and durability. Therefore, from the view point of the industrial field, it is better for the frame to use the steel rather than other materials because it needs welding or tightening strongly. And it is able to use permanently by utilizing the parts that can minimize the friction and impact on the area where it contacts because it requires certain durability providing a free of breakdown or free of damage with the long term use.
Claims (10)
1. This is a multi-purpose exercising machine featuring with air compressor(500) that produces and stores the pressurized air by the supply of electrical power; air filter(510); solenoid valves(520,530,540,550) that send the air passed through the filter to each of air cylinder ports according to the electrical signal; air cylinders(200,400,600,700) that act a linear reciprocation by the air, from the solenoid valves, entering into the port of head or rod side; driving shaft(153) for a handstand that converts the linear motion of the cylinder(200) to rotating motion; link devices for a sit-up that convert the linear motion of the cylinder(400) to rotating motion; hinges for a knee folding that convert the linear motion of the cylinder(600) to rotating motion; transporting wheels(710); mat(300) that is inserted with heating wires(370), and on which people can lie down or rest; upper frame(150) and lower frame(100) structure.
2. In the claim 1 , it is formed with upper and lower structure, that is, the upper and lower frame are not fixed with each other and the columns(112) are installed on the two places at the edge of one end of the bottom frame(111), and also the supports for Jib bearings(210) at the end of the opposite side are installed at two places in the left and right position, and then by the act of the air cylinder(200) connected to the shaft(230) and hinges(240) between the channel(114) and plate(155), the driving shaft(153) at the end of the upper frame(150) rotates forward and backward to bring it up and down, and makes the machine do a handstand, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
3. In the claim 2 , the upper frame(150) features that the driving shaft(153) is attached to the end of the connecting rods(152), which is formed with stair type, as a fixing unit and the whole frame is not in parallel and is positioned about 120 mm lower than the mat support(151), in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
4. In the claim 1 , the air cylinder(600) features that the rod side is installed at the part of the calf on the bottom of the mat(300) using the hinges(610), and the head side is installed at the part of the hip using the hinges(620), and by the act of the cylinder, the part of the knee will be folded and spread, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
5. In the claim 1 , the mat(300) features that the waist part is divided and the link devices(310) for a sit-up is installed at both sides of the divided and the knee part is not entirely intersected and divided into the shape of and the hinges(330) for a knee folding at both ends of the intersected are attached, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
6. In the claim 5 the mat(300) features that the heating wires(370) are placed by a certain interval inside the mat(300) and the mat will be warmed up as the electrical source is given to generate a heat, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
7. In the claim 5 , the mat(300) features that the armrests(340) are attached right to the both upper parts of the link devices(310) for a sit-up and there is a foot fixing unit(320) at the ankle part, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
8. This exercise machine includes a mat(300); air compressor(500); air filter(510); solenoid valve(540); air cylinders(400); shaft(410) of air cylinder rod side and fixing unit(420); link devices(310); adaptor(430A) of air cylinder side and hinge(430B); and upper frame(150). The upper part of the waist of the mat(300) is just placed on the two points of the driving shaft(153), and the connecting rods(152) and each part of the backboard on the mat floor in the left ad right position are connected to the two of the same cylinder.
And by the act of these cylinders(400) the link devices(310) rotate forward and backward and then the mat will be folded towards the upper body of people and will be laid down again to do a sit-up, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
9. This exercise machine has featured with an air compressor(500); air filter(510); solenoid valve(550); air cylinders(700); cylinder housing(720); and transporting wheels(710). The cylinder housing is attached at the four corners of the bottom frame(111) inside of the lower frame(100), and the four air cylinders(700) with the same type that is fixed at the transporting wheels(710) at the end of the rod are installed vertically, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
10. In the claim 9 , the air cylinders(700) have featured that the transporting wheels(710) will be down and contacting the ground by lowering the cylinder rod with air pressure, and then it will be moving easily with a little force, and if the wheels move into the housing(720) by lifting the rod, the part of the bottom frame(111) contacts the ground again, in which people can exercise with their whole body on multi-purpose.
