Abstract

A golf glove includes a magnet positioned on the golf glove and covered by a piece of top piece which is made by polyurethane (PU), and a mark is magnetically attracted by the magnet and rested on the top piece. The PU made top piece provides a slightly adhesive top surface which provides friction force between the mark and the top piece so as to overcome vibration when golfing and the mark does not drop form the golf glove.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (1) Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a mark positioning device on a golf glove and the positioning device includes a magnet for magnetically attracting the mark and a top cover for increasing friction force between the mark and the top cover.
  • (2) Description of the Prior Art
  • A mark is used to mark the position of the golf ball when the golf ball is picked up to be cleaned or to avoid obstructing the path that the next player may send his or her golf ball. The mark is small and light so that it usually drops during putting back to the pocket. Some people invent a mark positioning device on the hat or the golf glove by using a magnet. However, the positioning device on the golf glove cannot hold the mark well because when the user hits the golf ball, the impact to the mark is significant so that the mark is easily disengaged from the magnet.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, a magnet 10 is located in a hat or a golf glove 11 by a piece of fabric 12 mounting on the magnet 10. The piece of fabric 12 is fixed on the glove 11. The mark 13 is magnetically attracted by the magnet 10. As shown in FIG. 2, it is noted that the magnetic force Fx is perpendicular to the mark 13 and the friction force Fy between the mark 13 and the piece of fabric 12 is parallel to the bottom of the mark 13. As shown in FIG. 3, when the force applies to the mark 13 is larger than the maximum static friction force 0.35 kg between the mark 13 and the piece of fabric 12, the mark 13 is disengaged from the piece of fabric 12. Unfortunately, almost every swing of golfing generates a force that is larger than 0.35 kg so that the mark 13 drops from the golf glove 11 all the time.
  • The present invention intends to provide a mark positioning device on the hat or golf glove wherein the golf glove includes a magnet which is positioned by a top cover made by PU which provides a larger friction force when the mark is in contact with the top cover. The friction force provided by the top cover keeps the mark at position.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a golf glove and includes a magnet positioned on the golf glove and covered by a piece of top piece which is made by polyurethane (PU). A mark is magnetically attracted by the magnet and rested on the top piece. The PU made top piece provides friction force between the mark and the top piece to overcome vibration when golfing so that the mark does not drop form the golf glove.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a cross sectional view to show a conventional mark positioning device;
  • FIG. 2 illustrates related forces for positioning the mark;

  • FIG. 9 is a cross sectional view to show another embodiment of the mark positioning device of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIGS. 4 to 7, the mark positioning device on a golf glove 20 of the present invention comprises a magnet 21 which is a circular disk and positioned on the golf glove 20, a piece of top piece 22 made by polyurethane (PU) is mounted on the magnet 21. The top piece 22 includes a piece of non-woven fabric and a layer of polyurethane (PU) is coated on the non-woven fabric to form the top piece 22. A fabric 23 is fixed to the golf glove 20 and mounted on the top piece 22. The fabric 23 is sewed to the golf glove 20 and positions the top piece 22 such that the top piece 22 is connected between the golf glove 20 and the fabric 23. The fabric 23 includes a through hole 231 wherein the magnet 21 is located and the top piece 22 covers the through hole 231 of the fabric 23 from an underside of the fabric 23 and the magnet 21 is covered by the top piece 22. A flange 232 extends from a top of the fabric 23 and located along a periphery of the through hole 231. The flange 232 extends ¾ of the periphery of the through hole 231 and an opening 233 is defined between two ends of the flange 232.
  • A mark 24 is a circular disk and magnetically attracted by the magnet 21 and rested on the top piece 22. A height of the flange 232 is equal to or higher than a height of the mark 24 in the through hole 231. The mark 24 includes a handle portion 241 which extends radially therefrom and can be accessed via the opening 233. The handle portion 241 is composed of two triangular pieces.
  • The top piece 22 includes a porous top surface and the PU provides a slightly adhesive top surface so that the friction force between the top piece 22 and the mark 24 is large enough to overcome the force applied to the mark 24 during golfing. As shown in FIG. 8, the maximum static friction force of the mark positioning device of the present invention is 2 kg which is much higher than the conventional mark positioning device. The top surface of the top piece 20 may further includes patterns thereon which provides even larger friction force.
  • After the mark 24 is magnetically attracted by the magnet 21, the flange 232 restricts the mark 24 from moving along the horizontal direction and the user can easily hold the handle portion 241 of the mark 24 and pulls the mark 24 via the opening 233. The PU made top piece 22 provides the friction force that efficiently prevents the mark 24 from dropping during golfing.
  • As shown in FIG. 9 which shows a second embodiment of the mark positioning device and the parts and arrangement of the second embodiment is similar to the first embodiment, the only difference is that the mark 24 includes a bottom layer 242 which is made by polyurethane (PU) and the bottom layer 242 is in contact with the top surface of the top piece 22.
  • Both of the bottom layer 242 of the mark 24 and the top piece 22 includes a porous and/or patterned contact surfaces so that the friction force between the bottom layer 242 of the mark 24 and the top piece 22 is large enough to overcome any force applied laterally to the mark 24 that is less than the maximum static friction force of 2 kg.
  • While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (25)

What is claimed is:
1. A golf glove comprising:
a magnet positioned on the golf glove and covered by a piece of top piece which is made by polyurethane (PU), and
a mark magnetically attracted by the magnet and rested on the top piece.
2. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein the top piece includes a piece of non-woven fabric and a layer of polyurethane (PU) is coated on the non-woven fabric to form the top piece.
3. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein a fabric is fixed to the golf glove and mounted on the top piece, the fabric includes a through hole wherein the magnet is located.
4. The golf glove as claimed in claim 3, the top piece covers the through hole of the fabric from an underside of the fabric and the magnet is covered by the top piece.
5. The golf glove as claimed in claim 3, wherein the top piece is connected between the golf glove and the fabric.
6. The golf glove as claimed in claim 5, wherein the fabric is sewed to the golf glove and positions the top piece.
7. The golf glove as claimed in claim 3, wherein a flange extends from a top of the fabric and located along a periphery of the through hole.
8. The golf glove as claimed in claim 7, wherein the flange extends ¾ of the periphery of the through hole and an opening is defined between two ends of the flange.
9. The golf glove as claimed in claim 7, wherein a height of the flange is equal to or higher than a height of the mark in the through hole.
10. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein the magnet is a circular disk and the mark is a circular disk with a handle portion extending radially therefrom.
11. The golf glove as claimed in claim 10, wherein the handle portion is composed of two triangular pieces.
12. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein the top piece includes a porous top surface.
13. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein the top piece includes a top surface which includes patterns thereon.
14. A golf glove comprising:
a magnet positioned on the golf glove and covered by a piece of top piece which is made by polyurethane (PU), and
a mark magnetically attracted by the magnet and rested on the top piece, the mark including a bottom layer which is made by polyurethane (PU) and the bottom layer being in contact with a top surface of the top piece.
15. The golf glove as claimed in claim 14, wherein the top piece includes a piece of non-woven fabric and a layer of polyurethane (PU) is coated on the non-woven fabric to form the top piece.
16. The golf glove as claimed in claim 14, wherein a fabric is fixed to the golf glove and mounted on the top piece, the fabric includes a through hole wherein the magnet is located.
17. The golf glove as claimed in claim 16, the top piece covers the through hole of the fabric from an underside of the fabric and the magnet is covered by the top piece.
18. The golf glove as claimed in claim 16, wherein the top piece is connected between the golf glove and the fabric.
19. The golf glove as claimed in claim 16, wherein the fabric is sewed to the golf glove and positions the top piece.
20. The golf glove as claimed in claim 16, wherein a flange extends from a top of the fabric and located along a periphery of the through hole.
21. The golf glove as claimed in claim 20, wherein the flange extends ¾ of the periphery of the through hole and an opening is defined between two ends of the flange.
22. The golf glove as claimed in claim 14, wherein the magnet is a circular disk and the mark is a circular disk with a handle portion extending radially therefrom.
23. The golf glove as claimed in claim 22, wherein the handle portion is composed of two triangular pieces.
24. The golf glove as claimed in claim 1, wherein the top surface of the top piece and the bottom layer are porous surfaces.
25. The golf glove as claimed in claim 14, wherein the top surface of the top piece and the bottom layer include patterns thereon.
