inner pipe 25, thepush button 22 is pressed to move thelink 23 which pushes thepress block 24 which pushes thepush member 4 downward, so that thetapered push faces 421 of thepush member 4 are moved downward to press the drivenshafts 431 of thelocking blocks 43 to move thelocking blocks 43 inwardly to detach thelocking post 432 of each of thelocking blocks 43 from the respectiveupper locking hole 51 of theouter pipe 5 into the respective throughhole 311 of thefixing seat 3 as shown inFIG. 8 , to unlock theinner pipe 25 from theouter pipe 5. Thus, theinner pipe 25 is movable relative to theouter pipe 5. - At the same time, the tapered push faces 441 of the
push member 4 are moved downward to press the drivenposts 451 of thepositioning block 45 to push thepositioning block 45 inwardly so that thelimit post 455 is movable with thepositioning block 45 from thefirst limit hole 3141 to thesecond limit hole 3142 of theguide track 314 and is inserted into thesecond limit hole 3142 of theguide track 314 by the restoring force of thepush spring 456 as shown inFIG. 9 . - When the
inner pipe 25 is movable downward to reach themounting seat 55 as shown inFIG. 10 , the secondelastic members 434 push thelocking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 toward thelower locking holes 52 of theouter pipe 5, so that thelocking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 are locked in thelower locking holes 52 of theouter pipe 5 as shown inFIG. 11 to lock theinner pipe 25 in theouter pipe 5. - At the same time, the
push pin 553 of themounting seat 55 is inserted into thesecond limit hole 3142 of theguide track 314 to push and detach thelimit post 455 of thepositioning block 45 from thesecond limit hole 3142 of theguide track 314, and the firstelastic member 453 pushes thepositioning post 452 of thepositioning block 45 toward thepositioning hole 53 of theouter pipe 5, so that thepositioning post 452 of thepositioning block 45 is locked in thepositioning hole 53 of theouter pipe 5 as shown inFIG. 11 . - At this time, the
limit post 455 is movable with thepositioning block 45 from thesecond limit hole 3142 to thefirst limit hole 3141 of theguide track 314 and is inserted into thefirst limit hole 3141 of theguide track 314 by the restoring force of thepush spring 456 as shown inFIG. 11 . - Thus, the
locking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 are locked in thelower locking holes 52 of theouter pipe 5, and thepositioning post 452 of thepositioning block 45 is locked in thepositioning hole 53 of theouter pipe 5 to provide a double locking effect, so that theinner pipe 25 is locked in theouter pipe 5 exactly and stably. - On the contrary, when the user wishes to expand the
inner pipe 25, thepush button 22 is pressed to move thelink 23 which pushes thepress block 24 which pushes thepush member 4 downward, so that thetapered push faces 421 of thepush member 4 are moved downward to press the drivenshafts 431 of thelocking blocks 43 to move thelocking blocks 43 inwardly to detach thelocking post 432 of each of thelocking blocks 43 from the respectivelower locking hole 52 of theouter pipe 5, while the tapered push faces 441 of thepush member 4 are moved downward to press the drivenposts 451 of thepositioning block 45 to push thepositioning block 45 inwardly to detach thepositioning post 452 of thepositioning block 45 from thepositioning hole 53 of theouter pipe 5. Thus, thelocking blocks 43 and thepositioning block 45 are unlocked from theouter pipe 5 so that theinner pipe 25 is unlocked from and movable upward relative to theouter pipe 5 by the restoring force of thecompression springs 552. - When the
locking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 align with theupper locking holes 51 of theouter pipe 5, the secondelastic members 434 push thelocking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 toward theupper locking holes 51 of theouter pipe 5, so that thelocking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 are locked in theupper locking holes 51 of theouter pipe 5 to lock theinner pipe 25 in theouter pipe 5 again. - As shown in
FIG. 12 , the retractable pull handle further comprises anintermediate pipe 6 mounted between theinner pipe 25 and theouter pipe 5, a mounting seat 7 mounted on the lower end of theintermediate pipe 6 and has a top provided with apush pin 72, and twocompression springs 71 each biased between the top of the mounting seat 7 and the bottom wall of thefixing seat 3 to push thefixing seat 3 upward. - Accordingly, the
locking posts 432 of thelocking blocks 43 are locked in thelower locking holes 52 of theouter pipe 5, and thepositioning post 452 of thepositioning block 45 is locked in thepositioning hole 53 of theouter pipe 5 to provide a double locking effect, so that theinner pipe 25 is locked in theouter pipe 5 exactly and stably to prevent theinner pipe 25 from detaching from theouter pipe 5, thereby facilitating packaging, transportation and storage of the luggage. In addition, when theinner pipe 25 is unlocked from theouter pipe 5, theinner pipe 25 is movable upward relative to theouter pipe 5 by push of the restoring force of thecompression springs 552, thereby facilitating the user pulling the retractable pull handle. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
