Abstract

An improved rotary helical brush comprising a rotary axle and two helical brushing members slipping over the rotary axle, the helical brushing members are planted with bristles on surfaces of their corresponding continuous helical frames and are assembled by rotating in mutual contrary directions. The rings of one of the two helical brushing members are arranged alternately relative to rings of the other helical brushing member, the degrees of inclination of bristles on every ring of the helical frames are increased to increase the contact areas between the bristles on each ring and the surface of a plate being cleaned. Thereby the rotary axle rotates slower to reduce the centrifugal force and vibration, and thereby scrapes created on the surface of a plate can be reduced.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to an improved rotary helical brush for cleaning the surface of a plate, and especially to an improved rotary helical brush having a helical brushing member.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • There have been various rotary sweeping or brushing implements; typical implements of such kind are glass curtain wall cleaning apparatuses for buildings, or cleaning apparatuses for science and technique industry etc., in which the rotary sweeping or brushing implements are moved on surfaces of plates in use to remove dirt.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show a normally used rotary brushing implement which has a helical brushing member 92 slipping over a rotary axle 91; the helical brushing member 92 is planted with bristles 922 on the surface of a continuous helical frame 921. The helical brushing member 92 is rotated by the rotary axle 91 to make the bristles 922 move on the surface of a plate being cleaned, thus a cleaning effect can be provided.
  • By virtue that each ring of the continuous helical frame 921 of the helical brushing member 92 is integral with other rings, referring to FIG. 2, two ends a1, b1 of each ring form an inclined section with a smaller degree of inclination, this reduces the contact area between the bristles 922 on each ring with the surface of the plate being cleaned, and thereby the cleaning effect is lowered. For the purpose of achieving the effect of totally cleaning, the rotating rate of the rotary axle 91 must be increased to render the bristles 922 able to totally clean the surface of the plate. However in high speeds, by increasing of the centrifugal force of the helical brushing member 92, vibration is created to render the plate being cleaned to create scrapes. When a science and technique product (such as a panel of a display) is cleaned, such scrapes may create serious optical defects that must be solved.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the above defects of conventional techniques, the present invention provides an improved rotary helical brush comprising a rotary axle and a first and a second helical brushing member slipping over the rotary axle, thereby rotating of the rotary axle moves and rotates the two helical brushing members; the two helical brushing members are planted with bristles on surfaces of their corresponding continuous helical frames and are assembled by rotating in mutual contrary directions, thereby the rings of the first helical brushing member are arranged alternately relative to rings of the second helical brushing member. The degrees of inclination of bristles on every ring of the helical frames are increased to increase the contact areas between the bristles on each ring and the surface of a plate being cleaned.
  • The present invention provides an improved rotary helical brush with which the contact area between the bristles on each ring of the helical frames with the surface of the plate being cleaned is increased, hence the rotary axle rotates slower to thereby reduce the problem of the centrifugal force of the helical brushing members and vibration, and thereby scrapes created on the surface of a plate can be reduced.
  • And more, in the improved rotary helical brush provided in the present invention, bristles on one of the helical brushing members can be substituted by sponge to increase the water suction force of the helical brush.
  • The present invention will be apparent in its structure and effect in using after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the appearance of a conventional helical rotary sweeping or brushing implement;

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 3-5, the present invention provides an improved rotary helical brush mainly comprising a rotary axle 10 and a first and a second helical brushing member 21, 22.
  • The first and the second helical brushing members 21, 22 are slipped over the rotary axle 10, thereby when the rotary axle 10 is rotated, the two helical brushing members 21, 22 are moved to rotate.
  • The first and the second helical brushing members 21, 22 have their corresponding continuous helical frames 211, 221, and are planted with bristles 212, 222 on surfaces of their corresponding continuous helical frames 211, 221. Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the first helical brushing member 21 and the second helical brushing member 22 are assembled by rotating in mutual contrary directions, and the degrees of inclination of bristles 212 or 222 on every ring of them is increased to increase the contact areas between the bristles 212 or 222 on each ring and the surface of a plate being cleaned.
  • Referring to FIG. 5, by virtue that on the two helical brushing members 21, 22, the rings of the helical frame 211 are arranged alternately relative to rings of the helical frame 221 to be mutually very close, two ends a2, b2 of each ring form an inclined section with a larger degree of inclination than the degree of inclination formed between the ends a1, b1 of each ring conventionally, thereby the contact area between the bristles 212 or 222 on each ring with the surface of the plate being cleaned is increased. Under this condition, the rotating rate of the rotary axle 10 is slower to get the cleaning effect that can only be achieved under a high rotating rate by the conventional technique. For example, the rotating rate of the conventional technique is 1000 rpm; while there are two helical brushing members 21, 22 used in the present invention, the same cleaning effect as that achieved by the conventional technique can achieve by the present invention when 500 rpm is used.
  • And more, by virtue that the present invention uses lower rotating rate, the centrifugal force of the helical brushing members 21, 22 slipped over the rotary axle 10 thus is lowered, and the problem of vibration is reduced, thereby the problem of creating scrapes on the surface of the plate being cleaned can be reduced.
  • In comparing the conventional technique with the present invention, if each of them has 100 turns on its helical frame(s), by the fact that the present invention has its helical brushing members 21, 22 mutually alternately assembled to make the bristles 212 or 222 on each ring be inclined with a larger degree of inclination, thereby the cleaning effect obtained by the present invention with the material same as that of the conventional technique can be increased.
  • And FIG. 6 shows another preferred embodiment of the present invention, wherein the bristles 222 on the second helical brushing member 22 are substituted by sponge 223 to increase the water suction force of the entire helical brush and to get the cleaning object.
  • The above stated and what shown in the drawings are only for illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention, and not for giving any limitation to the scope of the present invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in this art that various equivalent modifications or changes can be made to the elements of the present invention without departing from the scope of this invention, for instance, a brushing member can be substituted by some other material, or the amount of the helical brushing member can be increased (such as three or four or even more); accordingly, all such modifications and changes also fall within the scope of the appended claims.

Claims (3)

1. An improved rotary helical brush, said rotary helical brush comprises a rotary axle and at least a first and a second helical brushing member slipping over said rotary axle, rotating of said rotary axle moves and rotates said two helical brushing members; said two helical brushing members are planted with bristles on surfaces of two corresponding continuous helical frames and are assembled to be alternately rotated, thereby rings of said first helical brushing member are arranged alternately relative to rings of said second helical brushing member and are mutually very close, degrees of inclination of bristles on each of said rings of said helical frames are increased to increase contact areas between said bristles on each of said rings and a surface of a plate being cleaned.
2. The improved rotary helical brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein bristles on said second helical brushing member is substituted by sponge.
3. The improved rotary helical brush as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rotary helical brush comprises three or more than three helical brushing members, rings of each of said helical brushing members are arranged alternately relative to rings of the remains of said helical brushing members, all said helical brushing members are assembled by rotating in directions contrary to one another.
