Abstract
In combination, a stuffed animal having a body with front and back sides, a recess in the body, with an entrance at said back side, the clothing covering said entrance, and an insert in the recess retrievable via said entrance, the insert usable after such retrieval.
Description
- This invention relates generally to decorative carriers, and more particularly to a carrier in the form of a stuffed animal, such as a Teddy Bear, and a retrievable insert/cavity in the carrier with an external orifice.
- There is need for unusual and decorative carriers or housings for useful articles; and in particular there is need for the decorative device of the present invention, wherein access to a useful massager or other insert concealed in the carrier is enabled by partial removal of clothing from the carrier such as a stuffed animal. As will appear, the article may comprise a Teddy Bear. In addition to reception, there is need for inconspicuous concealment of the massager, allowing the user easy and immediate access within a person's private domain (e.g. bedroom) where its use is typically employed.
- It is a major object of the invention to provide a device or unusual combination which meets the describe need. Basically, it concerns:
- a) a stuffed animal wearing clothing, the animal having a body with front and back sides,
- b) a recess in the body, with an entrance/orifice at said back side,
- c) said clothing covering said entrance,
- d) and an insert in the recess/cavity and retrievable via said entrance/orifice, the insert usable after such retrieval.
- Another object is to provide such clothing retained on the animal at its front and back sides. As will be seen, such clothing may comprise a robe retained on the animal body by its stuffed arms so that access to the concealed article may be gained only after clothing removal against resistance improved by the robe's tight fit to the animal's stuffed arms.
- A further object includes provision of an elongated insert to extend downwardly and forwardly in the body interior.
- Yet another object is to provide a removable element of the insert, to be accessible proximate the recess/orifice entrance, only after partial removal of the robe from the stuffed animal; and provision of the insert in the form of a massager or other vibrating device. The removable element may comprise a part of the housing or battery compartment.
- These and other objects and advantages of the invention, as well as the details of an illustrative embodiment, will be more fully understood from the following specification and drawings, in which:
-
FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a decorative stuffed animal, such as Teddy Bear, wearing a robe; -
FIG. 2 is a rear elevational view of theFIG. 1 animal; -
FIG. 3 is a left side view of theFIG. 1 animal, and also showing a recess in the body extending downwardly and forwardly from an entrance; -
FIG. 4 is an enlarged view showing reception of an elongated insert in the animal body recess, and to be accessible after removal of clothing, as also shown. - In the drawings, showing a preferred form of the invention, a
stuffed animal 10 having the form of a decorative Teddy Bear, has abody 11,arms 12,head 13 andlegs 14. The animal is shown wearing adecorative robe 15, havingfront sections 16 a and 16 b, a rear orback 17 andsleeves 18 which closely fit theanimal arms 12. Also shown is abelt 19. - In accordance with the invention, a
recess 20 is formed in thebody 11, and has anentrance 20 a at theupper back 11 a of the body. The recess extends downwardly and forwardly of the entrance, whereby the recess is elongated, i.e. typically has greater length than the front to back dimension X of the body. This allows for reception in the recess of anelongated insert 22. The insert may have a removable battery or battery compartment. Theclothing layer 15 a (such as the back of the robe) covers the entrance, whereby the insert is not accessible until the robe is removed off the upper back region of the stuffed animal. The close fit of the robe sleeves 18 to the stuffedarms 12, inhibits ready removal of the robe, whereby concealment of the entrance/orifice 20 a is doubly enhanced to the extent that the robe back layer conceals that entrance, and also removal of that layer away fromentrance 15 a is inhibited by tightness of sleeve fit to the arms. - Assuming that a curious person gained access to the entrance/
orifice 15 a, he or she will then be able to grasp the insert, to pull the elongated insert out from the recess, for use. The insert may comprise various devices such as a lipstick container, or an electric battery powered massager, the length of the insert providing space for dry cell reception in the insert. Seebattery outline 30, andmassager head outline 31. - Accordingly, a useful, decorative stuffed animal is provided with a concealed useful insert.
