Abstract
A folder includes a casing with multiple leaves inside the casing and a support provided at a rear side of the casing to stand the folder on a surface. The support has a first seam and a second seam so that the support is able to transform into a triangle at the rear side of the casing by folding the first seam and the second seam to stand the folder.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a folder, and more particularly to standing folder having a support foldably formed on a rear side of the folder and a recessed area defined in the rear side of the folder to correspond to a free end of the support so that when the free end of the support is received in the recessed area, the folder is able to stand upright by itself.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- A folder (5), as shown in
FIG. 5 , is used to receive files so that the user is able to check and review the information easily by categories of the files. In order to receive as many files as possible within a folder, most folders have plurality of leaves (51) inside the folder such that information of the same category is received inside the folder for easy access. However, when the user is reviewing the files, the user will have to support the weight of the folder (5) so as to look through each of the files inside the folder. That is, the user has to use one hand to support the weight of the folder (5) and the other hand to look through the files, which is quite troublesome and labor inefficient. - To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an improved folder to mitigate the aforementioned problems.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved folder having a support formed on a rear side of the folder to stand the folder.
- In order to accomplish the above mentioned objective, the folder has a support foldably formed on a rear side of the folder and a recessed area defined in the rear side of the folder to correspond to the free end of the support such that after the free end of the support is received in the recessed area, the folder is able to stand by itself. Thus the user is able to easily review and check all the information stored inside the folder.
- Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the folder of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the folder with the support securely attached to the rear side of the folder; -
FIG. 3 is an operational view showing the application of the support to stand the folder; -
FIG. 4 is a side plan view showing that the free end of the support is received inside the recessed area so as to support the folder in an inclined status; and -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional folder. - With reference to
FIG. 1 , it is noted that the folder in accordance with the present invention includes a casing (1) and multiple leaves (2) received inside the casing (1). A support (3) is securely provided at a rear side of the folder (1). In order to match the provision of the support (3), the rear side of the folder (1) is provided with a recessed area (11) and a male connector (12). - The support (3) has a first seam (31) formed near a first end thereof and a second seam (32) formed on a mediate portion thereof. A female connector (33) is formed on a second end of the support (3) to be opposite to the first end thereof and to correspond to the male connector (12).
- Taking reference to
FIG. 2 , it is noted that the first end of the support (3) is securely attached to the rear side of the folder (1) via rivets (not numbered) and the female connector (33) is detachably connected to the male connector (12), as shown inFIG. 1 . - With reference to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , it is noted that when the folder in accordance with the present invention is in use, the female connector (33) is first detached from the male connector (12) and the second end of the support (3) is received in the recessed area (11) while the female connector (33) is functioned as a stop to prevent excessive extension of the second end of the support (3) into the recessed area (11). In addition, the first seam (31) and the second seam (32) are folded so that a substantially triangle is formed on the rear side of the folder. - Thus the user is able to use the support (3) to stand the folder (1) on a surface of any object. After the folder (1) stands by itself with the support (3), the user is able to easily review all the information received inside the folder without sparing a hand to support the weight of the folder anymore.
- It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
