Abstract
A blade of a ceiling fan includes a first flat end fixed to a blade bracket and a second end which includes an activation portion which includes a convex protruding from a top of the second end of the blade and a concavity is defined in an underside of the activation portion. Two sides of the activation portion are on a common horizontal surface with the first end of the blade. An angle between the horizontal surface and the convex is in a range of 15° to 20°. The blade generates stronger airflow with less resistance.
Description
- The present invention relates to a blade of a ceiling fan and the blade includes an activation portion on a distal end thereof so as to generate stronger airflow with lower resistance.
- A
conventional fan blade 10 for a ceiling fan is shown inFIG. 5 and generally includes a flat board which has one end fixed to ablade bracket 20 which is driven by amotor 30 of the ceiling fan so that theblades 10 are rotated when themotor 30 is activated to generate airflow. However, due to the flat shape of theconventional fan blade 10, a large resistance occurs when theblades 10 are rotated and only limited airflow is generated. - The present invention intends to provide a blade for ceiling fans wherein the blade generates stronger amount of airflow while only limited resistance needs to be overcome.
- The present invention relates to a blade of a ceiling fan and the blade comprises a first end which is a flat board so as to be fixed to a blade bracket, a second end of the blade has an activation portion. The activation portion is a convex protruding from a top of the second end of the blade and a concavity is defined in an underside of the activation portion. Two sides of the activation portion are on a common horizontal surface with the first end of the blade and an angle between the horizontal surface and the convex is in a range of 15° to 20°.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide a blade of a ceiling fan and the blade includes an activation portion on a distal end thereof so as to generate stronger airflow with less resistance.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a ceiling fan of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a side cross sectional view of the ceiling fan of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is an end cross sectional view of the ceiling fan of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 shows the blade is connected to a ceiling fan and the airflow generated by the blade of the present invention, and -
FIG. 5 shows a conventional ceiling fan. - Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the
ceiling fan blade 10 of the present invention comprises afirst end 11 which is a flat board and includes a plurality ofholes 110 so as to be fixed to ablade bracket 20 as shown inFIG. 4 . Theblade bracket 20 is driven by amotor 30 which rotates theblade brackets 20 and theblades 10 to generate airflow. Asecond end 12 of theblade 10 has an activation portion which includes aconvex 121 protruding from a top of the second end of theblade 10 and aconcavity 120 is defined in an underside of theactivation portion 120. Theconvex 121 is a smooth protrusion and two sides of theactivation portion 120 are on a common horizontal surface with the first end of theblade 10. An angle “θ” between the horizontal surface and the convex is in a range of 15° to 20°. - When the
blades 10 are rotated, theactivation portion 120 results preferred airflow so as to generate stronger airflow with less resistance when compared with the conventional fan blades While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Claims (1)
1. A blade of a ceiling fan, comprising:
a first end which is a flat board and adapted to be fixed to a blade bracket, a second end of the blade having an activation portion which is a convex protruding from a top of the second end of the blade and a concavity defined in an underside of the activation portion, two sides of the activation portion being on a common horizontal surface with the first end of the blade, an angle between the horizontal surface and the convex being in a range of 15° to 20°.
