Abstract

The invention relates to an umbrella frame with two layers of covers, which mainly provides a slider on outer end of a branch rib to connect with inner end of a second rib and to receive a first rib. During closing the umbrella, the second rib will be moved together with the slider alone the first rib inward and then the second with lower cover thereon can be hidden behind the first rib having upper cover thereon. The length of the umbrella frame is also decreased as the umbrella is closed for being capable of use in a folded umbrella.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an improvement of an umbrella frame and particularly to an umbrella having two layers of covers, which can be utilized in folded umbrellas.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • It is known that a conventional umbrella with two layers of covers, as shown in FIG. 1 to 3, has an upper cover (1) and a lower cover (2). By use of the opening between two covers, wind can pass there through and the umbrella frame is protected from destroy. The known umbrella includes a first rib (31), a second rib (32), and a branch rib (33), wherein inner end of the second rib (32) is pivoted with a connector (311) connected on middle portion of the first rib (31). Another connector (321) is provided on the inner portion of the second rib (32) and is pivoted with outer end of the branch rib (33) having its inner end connecting with a runner (4) around a shaft (5). When the runner (4) is moved downward, the two ribs are closed to the shaft (5) and the umbrella is also closed. Under this conventional structure, the umbrella with two layers of covers is always used in straight umbrella only. The total length of two ribs will be the same whenever in close or in open. The lower cover (2) is still separated from the upper cover (1) that will be trouble however.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is to provide an improved umbrella frame to connect with two layers of covers, wherein the lower cover can be received in the upper cover when the umbrella is closed. The design can be also used in a folded umbrella instead of a straight one. Now, accompanying with the following drawings, the character of the present invention will be described here and after.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a conventional umbrella with two layers of covers.
  • FIG. 2 is a plan view showing the umbrella frame of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 3 is plan view of FIG. 2 in closing state.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the umbrella frame according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 is plan view showing the umbrella in opening state according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 is a partly enlarged plan view of FIG. 5.
  • FIG. 7 is a plan view of FIG. 5 showing the umbrella in closing state.
  • FIG. 8 is a plan view of FIG. 6 showing the umbrella in closing state.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Please refer to FIGS. 4 and 5, the present invention relates to an umbrella having two layers of covers, which mainly includes a slider (6) on outer end of the branch rib (33). The inner end of the second rib (32) is connected with outer end of the branch rib (33) while the second rib (32) and the first rib (31) are passing through the slider (6). Hence, the slider (6) with the second rib (32) can be moved alone the first rib (31) smoothly. A reinforced rib (34) is provided to connect outer end with branch rib (33) and inner end with inner end of the first rib (31) and the upper joint (53) of the umbrella.
  • When to close the umbrella, the slider (6) is moved toward the inner end of the first rib (31), as shown in FIG. 7, and the second rib (32) is almost hidden behind the first rib (31). It can be understood that the lower cover on the second (32) will be overlapped totally behind the upper cover on the first rib (31). Accordingly, the closed umbrella has a simple outlook, which can be used or set up more conveniently.
  • Moreover, in closing state, the second rib (32) is moved behind the first rib (31) that decreases the length of the closed umbrella. So the use of the present invention can be utilized in a folded umbrella with better performance. In closed state, an elastic block (51) is provided between each tube of the shaft, which can be pressed by the runner (4) during movement that facilitates the closing of the tubes. After the umbrella is closed, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 8, the block (51) as well as the stop (52) of the umbrella can be covered by the runner for safe purpose.

Claims (2)
