Abstract
The present invention relates to a golf club head, on the internal surface of the striking surface of the head portion of the golf club head is formed an annular wall, an inner board made of lightweight material having strong strength is disposed between the annular wall and the striking surface, thus shifting the center of gravity of the golf club head backwards while improving the flexibility of the balance weight of the golf club head. As a result, the stability of the golf club, the flying stability of the golf ball and the distance that the golf ball travels can be optimized.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a golf club head, and more particularly to a technology of attaching an inner board to the internal surface of the striking surface of a golf club head.
- 2. Description of the Prior Arts
- Golf club heads are generally classified into two types. A first type golf club head A as shown in
FIG. 1 comprises ahead portion 300, at the front of thehead portion 300 is formed agroove 301 in which is provided astriking board 400 by soldering method. However, when thestriking board 400 strikes the golf ball, strong vibrations will be caused, thus probably leading to a broken of thestriking board 400 from thehead portion 300. - A second type golf club head A as shown in
FIG. 2 comprises afront head portion 100 and arear head portion 200. At the front of thefront head portion 100 is defined astriking surface 101 for striking the golf ball. However, thestriking surface 101 must be thick so as to produce a striking force strong enough for striking the golf ball. Hence, the center of gravity of the golf club head A moves forwards, accordingly, the stability of the golf club, the flying stability of the golf ball and the distance that the golf ball travels cannot be effectively controlled. Furthermore, the position of the center of gravity of the golf club head A cannot be designed arbitrarily according to needs. - The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club head, on the internal surface of the striking surface of the head portion of the golf club head is formed an annular wall, and an inner board disposed between the annular wall and the striking surface shifts the center of gravity of the golf club head backwards, so that the height and the depth of the center of gravity of the golf club head can be designed according to needs so as to improve the flexibility of the balance weight of the golf club head, thus the stability of the golf club, the flying stability of the golf ball and the distance that the golf ball travels can be optimized.
- The secondary object of the present invention is to provide a golf club head whose inner board and striking surface are made of different materials, and the inner board is made of lightweight material having strong strength, so as to improve the strength and the elasticity of the striking surface of the golf club head.
- The further object of the present invention is to provide a golf club head, on an internal surface of its striking surface are formed an annular wall and at least a tightening pin, and the tightening pin is inserted in the inner board to tighten it, increasing the combination strength between the inner board and the striking surface.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded cross sectional view of a conventional golf club head; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded cross sectional view of another conventional golf club head; -
FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of a part of a golf club head in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the golf club head in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view of the golf club head in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 6 is an enlarged view of a part ofFIG. 5 . - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , a golf club head B in accordance with the present invention is shown and includes ahead portion 10 at the front of which is integrally formed astriking surface 11 having a thin thickness. On the internal surface of thestriking surface 11 are arranged anannular wall 12 and at least a tighteningpin 13. Between theannular wall 12 and thestriking surface 11 is provided at least aninner board 20, and the tighteningpin 13 is inserted in theinner board 20 to tighten it, and so as to enable theinner board 20 to abut close against the internal surface of the striking surface 11 (as shown inFIGS. 5 and 6 ). Theinner board 20 can be made of light metal material, such as aluminum, magnesium and the like, or the lightweight materials having strong strength and high elasticity, such as plastic, carbon fiber, nylon and the like. - The
inner board 20 between thestriking surface 11 and theannular wall 12 is combined with the internal surface of the thinstriking surface 11, so as to increase the strength and the elasticity of thestriking surface 11 while reducing the weight thereof. - As compared with the prior arts, the golf club head of the present invention has the following advantages:
- First, the internal surface of the
striking surface 11 is combined with theinner board 20, and the center of gravity of the golf club head B moves backwards, so that the height and the depth of the center of gravity of the golf club head B can be designed according to needs so as to improve the flexibility of the balance weight of the golf club head B. Thus, the stability of the golf club, the flying stability of the golf ball and the distance that the golf ball travels can be optimized. - Second, the inner board is made of lightweight material having strong strength and high elasticity and then is attached tot the internal surface of the
striking surface 11, so as to increase the strength and the elasticity of thestriking surface 11 while reducing the weight thereof. - Third, the internal surface of the
striking surface 11 is at least integrally formed a tighteningpin 13 which is inserted in theinner board 20 to tighten it, thus increasing the combination strength between thestriking surface 11 and theannular wall 12. - While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
