Abstract

A packing box with cardboard walls includes a pallet base, four wall assemblies, a top cover, a plurality of fasteners and five cardboard pieces. A horizontally extending female edge is provided on each of the four sides of the pallet base. The right and left sides of each wall assembly are provided with a male edge and a female edge to allow two neighboring wall assemblies to engage with each other. The upper and lower sides of each wall assembly are provided with a male edge, and the male edge on the lower side of each wall assembly may rest on and engage with the corresponding female edge of the pallet base. Each side of the top cover has a downwards extending wall edge and a horizontally extending top cover edge so that the top cover may rest on the four wall assemblies via the four top cover edges and the male edges and that the four wall edges may engage with the inner members of the four male edges of the wall assemblies. Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The invention generally relates to a packing box with cardboard walls. More particularly, the invention relates to a packing box with wooden or metallic frameworks.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • The traditional packing box for transporting goods comprises a pallet base, four wall assemblies and a top cover. First, holes are provided at the predetermined positions on these four wall assemblies. Then, the four wall assemblies and top cover are mounted. Next, screws are used to secure the four wall assemblies and top cover.
  • During assembly, because the misalignment of these holes may occur, a worker may need to adjust the alignment between the pallet base and four wall assemblies, between these four wall assemblies and between the top cover and these four wall assemblies for several times. This makes the assembly quite difficult. In addition, the four wall assemblies and top cover of a traditional packing box are wooden or metallic sheets, which results in the increase in weight and production cost and the decrease in assembly efficiency and transport cost.
  • To eliminate these disadvantages, the inventor has spent a lot of time to come up with the present invention, which has the advantages of fast assembly and the increase in assembly efficiency and transport cost.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is to provide a packing box with cardboard walls such that: (1) The four wall assemblies and top cover are assembled into an box via the female edges of the four sides of the pallet base, the male edges and female edges of the four wall assemblies and the four top cover edges of the top cover. (2) The fasteners with two protrusions are mounted on these edges and the four wall assemblies and top cover are fastened with the bolts with a convex tip. • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, a packing box with cardboard walls of the present invention comprises a pallet base 11, four wall assemblies 13, a top cover 17, a plurality of fasteners 20 and five cardboard pieces 30. A horizontally extending female edge 12 is provided on each of the four sides of the pallet base 11. The right and left sides of each wall assembly 13 are provided with a male edge 14 and a female edge 15 to allow two neighboring wall assemblies 13 to engage with each other. The upper and lower sides of each wall assembly 13 are provided with a male edge 16, and the male edge 16 on the lower side of each wall assembly 13 may rest on and engage with the corresponding female edge 12 of the pallet base 11. The top cover 17 is disposed on top. Each side of the top cover 17 has a downwards extending wall edge 18 and a horizontally extending top cover edge 19 so that the top cover 17 may rest on the four wall assemblies 13 via the four top cover edges 19 and the male edges 16 and that the four wall edges 18 may engage with the inner members 161 of the four male edges 16 of the wall assemblies 13.
  • As shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B, a plurality of fasteners 20 are used to fasten the four wall assemblies 13 and the top cover 17. The cross section of the fasteners 20 has a “
    Figure US20060138132A1-20060629-P00900
” shape. A fastening groove 21 is provided on each of the fasteners 20. A threaded hole 22 extends through one arm of the fastener 20, and a bolt 24 may be fitted into the hole 22. A convex tip 23 is provided on the front tip of the bolt 24. Two protrusions 25 are provided on the other arm of the fastener 20.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 4A and 4B, after the aforesaid parts are put together, the five cardboard pieces 30 with a water-proof coating are fitted onto the four wall assemblies 13 and the top cover 17 so as to form a closed packing box.
  • As previously described, first, the four wall assemblies 13 are mounted on the pallet base 11 so that the male edge 16 on the lower side of each wall assembly 13 may rest on and engage with the corresponding female edge 12 of the pallet base 11 and that each wall assembly 13 engages with its neighboring wall assemblies 13 through the male edge 14 and female edge 15. Then, the top cover 17 is mounted on the four wall assemblies 13 via the four top cover edges 19 and the male edges 16. Next, the fasteners 20 are fitted on the edges and the bolts are screwed in so that the pallet base 11 are fixedly connected with the four wall assemblies 13 and that the top cover 17 is fixedly connected with the four wall assemblies 13 by the fastening groove 21, the convex tip 23 of each bolt and the two protrusions 25 on each fastener 20. Last, the five cardboard pieces 30 are fitted onto the four wall assemblies 13 and the top cover 17 so as to form a closed packing box.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 5A and 5B, if the four wall assemblies 13 are made of wood, nails (not shown inn the drawings) may be used to fasten the four wall assemblies 13 to the pallet base 11 after the male edge 16 on the lower side of each wall assembly 13 rests on the corresponding female edge 12 of the pallet base 11 and each wall assembly 13 engages with its neighboring wall assemblies 13. After the top cover 17 is fitted on the four wall assemblies 13, nails may be used to fasten the former to the latter. This is another embodiment of the present invention.
  • The present invention provides such a packing box with cardboard walls such that: (1) The four wall assemblies and top cover are assembled into an box via the female edges of the four sides of the pallet base, the male edges and female edges of the four wall assemblies and the four top cover edges of the top cover. (2) The fasteners with two protrusions are mounted on these edges, and the four wall assemblies and top cover are fastened with the bolts with a convex tip. (3) Last, the five cardboard pieces are fitted onto the four wall assemblies and the top cover so as to form a closed packing box. (4) Such assembled box has the advantages of fast and easy assembly, reduced weight, reduced production cost and high structural strength.
  • Although a preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described in detail hereinabove, it should be clearly understood that many variations and modifications of the basic inventive concepts herein taught which may appear to those skilled in the present art will fall within the spirit and scope of the present invention, as defined in the appended claims.
