Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a rotary structure for a membrane strapping apparatus, particularly to one provided with a reel pivot having one end opposite to a movable handle formed with a stopping annular surface extending downward for a preset distance to be pressed to stop a membrane reel from releasing the membrane wound thereon so that the membrane released can be pulled tight and pasted closely on the surfaces of an article, convenient in handling.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Generally, a membrane strapping apparatus is provided with a membrane reel having a membrane wound thereon to be released and strapped on articles so as to prevent them from swaying or falling when they are stored or transported. Nowadays, a conventional simple membrane strapping apparatus is widely employed for the convenience of carrying out membrane releasing and strapping. The conventional simple membrane strapping apparatus is provided with an immovable handle having its upper end formed integral with a reel pivot. In using, a membrane reel has one end fitted and positioned on the reel pivot of the membrane strapping apparatus and then hold the handle to carry out membrane releasing and strapping. However, in a membrane releasing and strapping process, a user's hand has to be turned together with the handle, inconvenient in use and likely to cause hurt to a user's hand.
- In view of the above-mentioned drawback, the conventional membrane strapping apparatus is provided with a movable handle to rotate relative to the reel pivot for facilitating membrane releasing. In reality, when the membrane reel rotates to carry out membrane releasing and strapping, the reel pivot sometimes has to be kept motionless so as to enable the released membrane portion to be pulled tight and pasted closely on the surfaces of an article especially when the released membrane is bypassed the corner portions of the article. However, the conventional simple membrane strapping apparatus with a movable handle is provided with no stopping device to be pressed for stopping the reel pivot from rotating by a user's hand that holds the handle. Therefore, when the user applies a force to pull tight the released membrane portion, it is impossible to keep the reel pivot motionless, unable to strap an article tightly.
- The objective of the invention is to offer a rotary structure for a simple membrane strapping apparatus, provided with a reel pivot having one end opposite to a movable handle formed with a stopping annular surface extending downward for a preset distance to be pressed for stopping the reel pivot from rotating by a user's hand that holds the movable handle.
- The stopping annular surface provided in the rotary structure of the present invention is convenient for a user to press and stop the reel pivot from rotating and synchronously stop the membrane wound on a membrane reel from released. Thus, the membrane portion released can be pulled tight and pasted closely on the peripheral sides and the corner portions of an article, greatly heightening quality and efficiency of membrane strapping operation.
- This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first preferred embodiment of a membrane strapping apparatus in the present invention: -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the first preferred embodiment of the membrane strapping apparatus in the present invention: -
FIG. 3 is a side view of the first preferred embodiment of the membrane strapping apparatus in the present invention: -
FIG. 4 is a side view of the first preferred embodiment of the membrane strapping apparatus in a using condition in the present invention: -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a second preferred embodiment of a membrane strapping apparatus in the present invention: and -
FIG. 6 is a side view of the second preferred embodiment of the membrane strapping apparatus in a using condition in the present invention. - A first preferred embodiment of a rotary structure for a simple
membrane strapping apparatus 10 in the present invention, as shown inFIGS. 1, 2 and 3, includes areel pivot 20, a handle-fitting rod 30, amovable handle 40 and amembrane reel 50. Thereel pivot 20 is column-shaped with a comparatively large diameter for fitting and positioning themembrane reel 50 thereon, having one end axially extending downward and forming thehandle fitting rod 30 with a comparatively small diameter. Themovable handle 40 is pivotally fitted on thehandle fitting rod 30, able to rotate relative to thereel pivot 20 and themembrane reel 50 so as to let themembrane reel 50 release themembrane 51 wound thereon for carrying out membrane strapping. - Further, the
reel pivot 20 has its lower side formed with abottom rim 21 having a portion near its center axially extending downward for a preset distance and forming anannular wall 22, which has its outer circumferential side provided axially with a plurality of stoppingribs 231 surrounding all sides. Thestopping ribs 231 have their upper ends extending to reach a region near the center of thebottom rim 21 of thereel pivot 20 and forming a stoppingannular surface 23 to be pressed stopping thereel pivot 20 from rotating by a user's hand that holds themovable handle 40. - In assembling and using, as shown in
FIG. 4 , firstly, themembrane reel 50 has a shaft hole 52 in one end fitted with thereel pivot 20 of amembrane strapping apparatus 10 to position themembrane reel 50 thereon. Next, a user holds themovable handle 40 of themembrane strapping apparatus 10 with one hand and pull outward themembrane 51 on themembrane reel 50 for a short distance with the other hand and paste it on one peripheral side of an article and have it bypassing a nearby corner portion of the article and fix it thereon. Subsequently, themembrane strapping apparatus 10 is held and moved along the peripheral sides of the article (a large-sized one able to be placed at a certain position) and synchronously thereel pivot 20 of themembrane strapping apparatus 10 will automatically rotate and actuate themembrane reel 50 to rotate and release themembrane 51. To ensure themembrane 51 pulled outward to be closely strapped on the surfaces of an article, simply press thestrapping ribs 231 on the stoppingannular surface 23 under thereel pivot 20 to stop thereel pivot 20 from rotating with the thumb of one hand that holds themovable handle 40 before themembrane 51 is bypassed the boundary of each corner portion of the article. At this time, when themembrane strapping apparatus 10 is held to move forward again, the previously releasedmembrane 51 can be pulled tight and pasted closely on the peripheral surfaces and another corner portion of the article. - A second preferred embodiment of a rotary structure for a
membrane strapping apparatus 10 in the present invention, as shown inFIGS. 5 and 6 , is almost the same as that described in the first preferred embodiment, except that the membrane strapping apparatus is provided with a column-shaped reel pivot 20′ with a comparatively small diameter, and thereel pivot 20′ has its circumferential surface provided with four strip-shaped positioning ribs 24 and its lower side formed with anannular member 25 with a diameter larger than that of ahandle fitting rod 30. Theannular member 25 has itsbottom rim 21 provided thereon with a plurality of stoppingribs 231 extending upward. Thus, themembrane reel 50 can easily be fitted on thereel pivot 20′, which can be controlled to stop rotating as described in the first preferred embodiment. - Evidently, this invention has the following advantages.
- L. In a membrane releasing and strapping process, the stopping
annular surface 23 formed at the lower end of thereel pivot movable handle 40 to stop themembrane 51 from released so as to enable the releasedmembrane 51 to be pulled tight and pasted closely on the surfaces of an article, achieving an excellent effect of membrane strapping operation. - 2. To stop the
reel pivot 20 from rotating and themembrane 51 from keeping released, it is enough only to press the stoppingannular surface 23 with the thumb of a user's hand that holds themovable handle 40, easy and quick in handling. - 3. The stopping
annular surface 23 is simple in structure, easy to be produced and very profitable. - While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
