Abstract
A curved exerciser positioning device includes a base member having a sleeve extending from center of the base toward a rear end of the exerciser and a buffer upwardly extending from the sleeve; two swing arms being respectively pivoted to two opposite ends of the base member; a platform and a roller being respectively secured on the top of and the bottom of the rear end of each swing arm; a guiding device including a shaft extending into a sleeve; and two rails respectively fixed to both sides of the rear end of the shaft such that both rollers slide thereon.
Description
- (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention is related to a positioning device for fitness equipment, and more particularly, to a curved exerciser positioning device.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- Fitness equipment generally available in the market today requires manual operation of the user to cause certain mechanism adapted to the fitness equipment to execute reciprocal movements for achieving the purpose of staying fit and healthy.
- To promote the efficacy of exercise, elastic device or any other weight that may increase the load to the user is usually disposed to the fitness equipment. The user after having applied a certain extent of force usually will directly release the elastic device or weight for it to return to its original status by means of return force or central gravity. Therefore, impact is produced upon the fitness equipment by the elastic device or weight in the course of the return, resulting in displacement of the general fitness equipment.
- Furthermore, the fitness equipment is generally used indoors. Upon any displacement, the user has to stop exercising and pushing the heavy fitness equipment back into place. How to make the displacement disappear is indeed one of the areas pending further improvements by the manufacturers of fitness equipment.
- The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a positioning device for a curved exerciser to avoid displacement of the exercise in use.
- To achieve the purpose, the present invention is essentially comprised of a base, a sleeve extending from the center of the base towards the rear end of the base, multiple through holes in series provided on both sides of the sleeve and both series of through holes correspond to each other to receiver insertion of a pin to penetrate through the sleeve, a buffer extending vertically from the top surface of the sleeve, two swing arms having their first end respectively pivoted to opposite ends of the base with a pedal and a roller respectively provided on the top surface and the bottom of a second end of each of the swing arm, and a rail unit including a shaft with a first end of the shaft inserted into the sleeve of the base and multiple through holes in series laterally disposed that penetrate through the shaft thus to merely secure the shaft in position when the pin penetrates through at the same time those through holes disposed on the sleeve and those disposed on the shaft; the total length of the sleeve and the shaft is adjusted by adjusting relative positions of those through holes respectively from the sleeve and the shaft; an arc platform having the base as the center is each secured to both sides of a second end of the shaft for those rollers from both swing arms to roll thereon.
- However, it is to be noted that the description given above is related to general description of certain characteristics of the present invention. To help the examiner and those professionals in reading this specification better understand of the art of the present invention and such art can be executed pursuant to the specification, detailed description of the present invention are given as follows in conjunction with accompanying drawings and preferred embodiments. It is to be further noted that those preferred embodiments given below are only for the explanation of the present invention and in no way to limit the form of the present invention. Therefore, any modification or change to the present invention made within the similar teachings disclosed in the specification shall fall within the range of protection to be granted to the present invention.

FIGS. 1 and 2 , a preferred embodiment of the present invention related to a positioning device for a curved exerciser is essentially comprised of abase 10, twoswing arms 20 pivoted to thebase 10, and arail unit 30 to support those bothswing arms 20. - A
sleeve 11 extends backward from the center of thebase 10. Multiple throughholes 111 in series are disposed on both sides of thesleeve 11 with both series of throughholes 111 correspond to each other for the insertion of apin 112 to penetrate through thesleeve 11, and abuffer 113 vertically extends from the top surface of thesleeve 11. - Both
swing arms 20 are respectively pivoted to both ends of thebase 10. Eachswing arm 20 includes apivoting arm 21 and adancer 22 with one end of the dancer pivoted and secured into thepivoting arm 21. Wherein, One end of the pivotingarm 21 opposite to one end of the dancer is pivoted to thebase 10 and multiple throughholes 211 in series are disposed on the top surface of the pivotingarm 21 to receive insertion by apin 212 and to secure thedancer 22. Thedancer 22 is provided with a first end and a second end with the first end inserting from a free end of the pivotingarm 21 into the pivotingarm 21, andmultiple insertion holes 221 coaxially corresponding to those throughholes 211 of the pivoting arm are disposed in series on the top surface of thedancer 22. Accordingly, once thepin 212 penetrates through at the same those throughholes 211 of thepivoting arm 21 and thoseinsertion holes 221 of thedancer 22, thedancer 22 is secured in position while allowing adjustment of the total length of theswing arm 20 by changing relative positions of those throughholes 211 and thoseinsertion holes 221. Apedal 222 for a user to step on is fixed to the top surface of the second end of thedancer 22 and aroller 223 is disposed to the bottom of thedander 22. - The
rail unit 30 includes ashaft 31 with the first end of theshaft 31 inserted into thesleeve 11 of thebase 10, and multiple throughholes 311 are laterally disposed in series on theshaft 31 that penetrate through theshaft 31. Once multiple (two in the preferred embodiment)pins 112 penetrate through those throughholes 111 of the sleeve and those throughholes 311 of theshaft 31, theshaft 31 is secured in position by thosepins 112, and the total length of theshaft 31 and thesleeve 11 is adjusted by changing the relative positions of those throughholes 111 of the sleeve and those throughholes 311 of theshaft 31. Both sides of the second end of theshaft 31 are respectively fixed with anarc rail platform 32 having thebase 10 as the center for both swing arms to roll thereon with theroller 223. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , upon working on the curved exerciser, the user has his feet respectively stepping on bothpedals 222 of the bothswing arms 20. Whereas one end of theswing arm 20 is pivoted to thebase 10, the user is permitted to execute reciprocal opening up and closing cycles along the arc orbit to achieve the purpose of staying fit and healthy. When bothswing arms 20 move closing to each other to get near the central line defined by theshaft 31, thebuffer 111 disposed to thesleeve 11 provides its buffering function to partially absorb the impacts resulted from bothswing arms 20. Whereas thebase 10, bothswing arms 20 and therail unit 30 are connected to one another, impacts produced among them will be offset due to the inner force. Accordingly, the present invention does secure the curved exercise for its user to enjoy workouts. - The preferred embodiment given above is to describe and not to limit the present invention; therefore, any change in data or replacement of equivalent device shall remain falling within the scope of the present invention.
- The present invention by providing an improved construction of a positioning device for the curved exerciser and those who are familiar with the art of the present invention are able to realize that the present invention is capable of arriving at its purposes aforesaid; therefore, this application for a utility patent is duly filed accordingly
Claims (2)
1. A curved exerciser positioning device is essentially comprised of a base, two swing arms and a rail unit; the base including a sleeve extending backward from the center of the base, multiple through holes in series being respectively provided on both sides of the sleeve with both series corresponding to each other; multiple pins being inserted into selected through holes and penetrating through the sleeve, and a buffer extending vertically from the top surface of the sleeve; two first ends of both swing arms being respectively pivoted to opposite ends of the base, a pedal being provided on the top surface of a second end of each of both swing arms, and a roller being disposed at the bottom of the pedal, and the rail unit including a shaft with a first end of the shaft being inserted into the sleeve of the base; multiple through holes arranged laterally in series being provided on the shaft, the shaft being secured in position by having the pin penetrating through the through holes of the sleeve and those of the shaft; the total length of the sleeve and the shaft being adjustable by changing relative positions of through holes of the sleeve and those of the shaft, an arc rail platform having the base as center being each fixed to both sides of a second end of the shaft; both swing arms rolling on the rail platform by means of their rollers.
2. The curved exerciser positioning device of claim 1 , wherein the swing arm includes a pivoting arm and a dancer; one end of the pivoting arm being pivoted to the base, multiple through holes being disposed in series on the top surface of the pivoting arm to receive insertion of the pin; and the dancer having a first end and a second end with the first end inserting into the pivoting arm from a free end of the pivoting arm, multiple insertion holes in series and coaxially corresponding to those through holes on the pivoting arm being disposed on the top surface of the dancer; the pin penetrating through at the same time those through holes of the pivoting arm and those of the dancer to secure the dancer, the total length of the swing arm being adjustable by changing relative positions of those through holes and insertion holes; the pedal being fixed to the top surface of the second end of the dancer, and the roller being fixed to the bottom of the second end of the dancer.
