Abstract
A holder comprising a case (14) and three hooked devices (20, 22, 24) on belts (16, 18). The holder adheres on a dashboard (FIG. 2) by hooking on windshield vents (10, 12) and center vents (8). The holder becomes a handbag (FIG. 3A) or shoulder bag (FIG. 3B) after released from the dashboard.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to holders, specifically to such holders which are used for holding articles, used for adhering on a dashboard of a car, and used as a handbag or shoulder bag after released from the dashboard.
- 2. Background of the Invention
- Laptop, notebook, tablet PC, portable DVD player, portable car navigation system and some computer peripherals are portable devices. This invention is a holder which is designed for making above portable devices to be secured easy on a dashboard and easy to carry after released from the dashboard.
- A critical issue for using portable devices in a car is, “How can we secure portable devices on a dashboard easy, fast and smooth?” This invention means to solve this critical issue by using a case for holding and protecting portable devices, and the case has two belts with three hooked devices for fastening on a dashboard. The holder becomes a handbag or shoulder bag after the holder is released from the dashboard.
- In accordance with the present invention a holder comprises a case for holding articles, a belt with two hooked devices for hooking on windshield vents, and a belt with a hooked device for hooking on center vents.
-
FIG. 1 shows windshield vents and center vents on a dashboard of a car. -
FIG. 2 shows an example of the holder adhering on a dashboard. -
FIG. 3A shows an example of the holder setting as a handbag. -
FIG. 3B shows an example of the holder setting as a shoulder bag. - 8 center vents
- 10 left windshield vent
- 12 right windshield vent
- 14 case for holding articles
- 16 belt/rope/chains for hooking on center vents
- 18 belt/rope/chains for hooking on windshield vents
- 20 hooked device for hooking on windshield vents
- 22 hooked device for hooking on windshield vents
- 24 hooked device for hooking on center vents
- Referring first to
FIG. 2 , the holder in this invention comprises acase 14 for holding articles, abelt 18 with two hooked devices (20, 22) for hooking on windshield vents, and abelt 16 with a hookeddevice 24 for hooking on center vents. - The hooked devices (20, 22, 24) are an article has a hooked portion, and capable to hook firmly on a vent of a dashboard. They hook on the vents to form three fixed points for fastening the
case 14 on the dashboard. - The
case 14 holds and protects the articles, it may be designed like a cover or container or fixture, and it may have some sides uncovered to allow computer peripherals cables to connect to a notebook held in thecase 14. - The
case 14 is fastened and secured on the dashboard by the belts (16, 18) pulled by the hooked devices (20, 22, 24). The hookeddevice 20 on thebelt 18 hooks on the gap of theleft windshield vent 10 then secures the first fixed point on the dashboard. The hookeddevice 22 on thebelt 18 hooks on the gap of theright windshield vent 12 then secures the second fixed point on the dashboard. The hookeddevice 24 on thebelt 16 hooks on an edge of thecenter vents 8 then secures the third fixed point on the dashboard. - By shortening the length of the belts (16, 18) between the
case 14 and the three fixed points, the three hooked devices (20, 22, 24) fixed on vents pull the belts (16, 18) then fasten thecase 14 on the dashboard. By loosening the belts (16, 18) between thecase 14 and the three fixed points, the holder can be released from the dashboard. - The holder becomes a handbag or shoulder bag after released from the dashboard.
FIG. 3B shows the holder is set as a shoulder bag, thebelt 18 functions as the shoulder belt of the shoulder bag.FIG. 3A shows the holder is set as a handbag, thebelt 18 is doubled back to be the hand belts of the handbag. - The
case 14 may be replaced by a cover, fixture, container or holder for holding articles in this invention. The belts (16, 18) may be replaced by ropes or chains for fastening thecase 14 in this invention. A method in this invention comprises a holder for holding articles, two fixed points securing on windshield vents, a fixed point securing on center vents, and material for linking the holder and the three points fixed on the vents.
