Abstract
A method for providing entertainment inside a restaurant includes a portable DVD player mounted on a sliding wooden tray underneath a table or booth inside the restaurant. The customers of the restaurant choose what movie they would like to view from a menu while dining at the restaurant by contacting the waiter. The waiter selects the DVD movie and inserts it in the portable DVD player by sliding the wooden tray from underneath the table or booth. The customers then proceed to view the DVD movie with a remote that is given to them by the waiter. Once the customer(s) is ready to leave the restaurant, the customer is given the bill and leaves the DVD movie for the waiter to collect, and closes the portable DVD player along with sliding the wooden tray back underneath the table or booth. The portable DVD player is securely fixed underneath the table with an anti-theft wire.

Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to sliding wooden trays for sustaining small electronics or the like.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- The use of small electronics in association with wooden sliding trays such as computer keyboards and computer mouse trays is well known. As the sliding wooden tray is not always needed, it is known to slide underneath the table or desk upon which the computer keyboard or mouse tray may rest. A sliding tray underneath the desk or table allows the computer keyboard or mouse to be pulled from underneath the table or desk so that the operator may operate the machine and input instructions to the machine via the keyboard or mouse. When the keyboard or mouse is not in use, the tray is pushed back underneath the table or desk and thus does not provide an obstacle to persons walking past the desk or table. An operator can choose whether or not to operate the machine with the sliding wooden tray remaining in a resting position underneath the table or desk. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a new sliding wooden tray for a portable DVD player allowing the operator to view a DVD movie while eating inside a restaurant if they so choose.
- A sliding wooden tray includes portable DVD player and a slid able tray supporting it. The tray has attached thereto two major rails that are vertically mounted to the underneath of a table or booth inside a restaurant with the lip of the table or booth identical that of the sliding tray whenever the sliding tray is in a rested or closed position. When the tray is extended outward for viewing purposes, the tray allows the operator to open the portable DVD player and therefore function the machine.
- The preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of theinvention 10. The invention has amajor rail 11 on its left-hand side and amajor rail 12 on its right-hand side. - A
minor rail 13 is attached to the bottom ofmajor rail 11. Anotherminor rail 14 is attached to the bottom ofmajor rail 12. A slidingtray 15 is supported byminor rail 13 andminor rail 14. The slidingtray 15 is free to slide back and forth alongaxis 100 of the invention.Major rail 11 has atop side 20 which is affixed to the bottom of a table at a restaurant.Major rail 12 has atop side 21 which is affixed to the bottom of a table at a restaurant. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of the invention as it would look attached to the bottom of a table 200 at a restaurant. -
FIG. 3 is a right-hand side view of the invention as it would look attached to the bottom of a table 200 at a restaurant with the slidingtray 15 in theunused position 50. -
FIG. 4 is a left-hand side view of the invention as it would look attached to the bottom of a table 200 at a restaurant with the slidingtray 15 in the usedposition 51.
