Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to cosmetics and, more specifically, to a cosmetics case that shows a personal style and creates a sense of beauty.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- FIG. 1. illustrates a cosmetics case according to the prior art. The cosmetics case comprises a
bottom cover shell 11, and a top cover shell 10 hinged to thebottom cover shell 11. The top cover shell 10 comprises amirror 101 adhered to the inner side, and afemale retaining device 102 at the periphery. Thebottom cover shell 11 comprisesmale retaining device 112, which is forced into engagement with thefemale retaining device 102 to secure the cosmetics case in the closed status when the top cover shell 10 closed on thebottom cover shell 11, and recessedportions 111 disposed in the inner side and adapted to accommodate a powder (not shown) and a puff/applicator (not shown). This structure of cosmetics case is still not satisfactory in function due to the drawbacks as follows: - 1. The cosmetics case does not provide illumination. When using the cosmetics in a dark place or at night, the user must move to a bright area.
- 2. Because the cosmetics case has no identification means differentiating it from others, the case cannot be quickly found amongst other products.
- 3. When many people use the same model, the cosmetics case cannot express a particular personal style.
- Therefore, it is desirable to provide a cosmetics case that has lighting means and allows expression of a particular personal style.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a cosmetics case that provides illumination automatically when opened. It is another object of the present invention to provide a cosmetics case that has a means to hold the user's photo or identifying means.
- To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the cosmetics case comprises a bottom cover shell and a top cover shell hinged to the bottom cover shell. The bottom cover shell has a plurality of recessed portions adapted to accommodate a cosmetic powder and a puff. The top cover shell has an inner side facing the bottom cover shell with a mirror mounted in the inner side thereof. A fastening means is provided on the bottom cover shell and the top cover shall and is adapted to hold the top cover shell and the bottom cover shell in a closed state. The top cover shell comprises two receiving spaces in the inner side, a circuit board and a backlight panel respectively mounted in the receiving spaces, and a lid adapted to hold down the circuit board and the backlight panel and the mirror in the inner side of the top cover shell. The circuit board comprises a battery holder holding a set of battery cells and a plurality of light emitting diodes electrically connected to the battery holder.
- These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with regard to the following description, appended claims, and accompanying drawings, where:
- FIG. 1 is a schematic, opened view of a cosmetics case according to the prior art;
- FIG. 2 is a schematic, exploded view of a cosmetics case according to the present invention; and
- FIG. 3 is a schematic, elevational view of the present invention, showing the cosmetics case opened.
- Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, a cosmetics case in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a
bottom cover shell 21, and atop cover shell 20 hinged to thebottom cover shell 21. Thetop cover shell 20 has amirror 201 disposed on the inner side thereof(as shown in FIG. 3), and amale retaining device 202 disposed at the periphery for engaging afemale retaining device 212 at the periphery of thebottom cover shell 21 to hold thetop cover shell 20 and thebottom cover shell 21 in a closed state. Thebottom cover shell 21 has recessedportions 211 adapted to accommodate a powder and a puff or the like (not shown). - The main features of the present invention are outlined hereinafter with further reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. The
top cover shell 20 comprises tworeceiving spaces circuit board 30 and abacklight panel 31 respectively mounted in thereceiving spaces top cover shell 20 further comprises a plurality of retaininglugs 205 respectively disposed around thereceiving spaces circuit board 30 and thebacklight panel 31 in thereceiving spaces - The
circuit board 30 comprises abattery holder 301 holding a set ofbattery cells 302, and a plurality of LEDs (light emitting diodes) 303. Thebattery cells 302 provide the necessary working voltage to theLEDs 303. Thebacklight panel 31 hasholes 311 that accommodate theLEDs 303, respectively. Further, alid 32 covers the inner side of thetop cover shell 20 to hold down thecircuit board 30, thebacklight panel 31 and themirror 201 in thetop cover shell 20. - The
bottom cover shell 21 further comprises arod member 213 inserted through athrough hole 321 in thelid 32 and stopped against aswitching plate 304 at thecircuit board 30. When the user opened thetop cover shell 20, therod member 213 is released from theswitching plate 304, and theswitching plate 304 returns to the ON position to electrically connect thebattery cells 302 to theLEDs 303, and therefore theLEDs 303 are turned on to emit light. On the contrary, when the user closed the cosmetics case, therod member 213 is stopped against theswitching plate 304 to hold the switching plate in the OFF position, and therefore theLEDs 303 are turned off. - Further, the
lid 32 haswindows 322 for receiving themirror 201 and the user's photo or business card. - As indicated above, the cosmetics case of the present invention has the advantages as follows:
- 1. The lid of the cosmetics case has a space to hold the user's photo, identification picture or the like.
- 2. A LED lighting circuit is provided inside the cosmetics case to give illumination when the user opens the cosmetics case.
- 3. The internal parts of the cosmetics case are detachable so that the user can replace the battery cells easily.
- 4. The user can set a photo or identification means in the cosmetics case to express a personal style.
- 5. The unit design of the cosmetics case greatly enhances the competitive power of the cosmetics case in the market.
- A prototype of cosmetics case has been constructed with the features of the annexed drawings of FIGS. 2 and 3. The cosmetics case functions smoothly to provide all of the features discussed earlier.
- Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
