Abstract
The drink caddy came to me when I was crabbing and got thirsty for a drink. I had no place to store my drink as I was wading in two feet of water. A simple solution came to me where I could easily pop in a beverage into a holder that I could suspend by clipping onto the beltine of my shorts. My drink would be easily accesible and would swivel should I have to bend over while crabbing. In addition the empty can would be stored until I could dispose of it properly in a trash receptacle.
Description
- PURPOSE
- The drink caddy is a simple device for storage of canned or bottled beverages on one's person while leaving hands free for other activities or tasks.

- The drink caddy would be suspended by clipping onto a person's beltine on pants, shorts, swimwear etc. The two piece construction would allow slight articulation (swived) of beverage holder on a plane parallel to attachment of belt clip to person's beltline.
- The drink caddy will be produced of injected molded plastic. Plastic should be of a nonslip nature. Minimum thickness shall be {fraction (3/16″)} to provide strength and durability. Plastic should be stiff in nature to provide strength, but not brittle in order to avoid shattering or breakage when in rough usage. The drink caddy will be produced in two parts. The beverage holder will be of dimensions to hold an average canned or bottled beverage.
- The beverage holder will have a suction relief hole in it's bottom, it will also have detaining fins on the inside to hold beverage in place during normal activities. The beverage holder will have an attaching lug molded on it's side that will attach (snap onto) the belt clip, completing the assembly and providing an articulating swivel motion in a plane parallel to attachment of belt clip to person's beltline. The clip shall have a hole chamfered to receive and lock attaching lug of beverage holder onto it. The interior surfaces of belt clip will have indented ridges to better hold onto person's beltline during normal activities. The drink caddy will be made of black plastic with yellow logo markings. Other colors and marking designs may be substituted with permission of patent holder.
