Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1) Field of Invention [0001]
  • This invention relates to chair covers and chair decorations. [0002]
  • 2) Discussion of Related Art [0003]
  • Chair covers and chair decorations are often used in, for example, the entertainment and special events industry. One reason to provide a cover or decoration for a chair is to hide or add to the looks of the existing chair. [0004]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The object of the invention was designed to be used either by itself on a chair back and/or to be used in combination with existing chair covers. In accordance with the principles of the present invention, this objective is obtained by providing a skirt which stretches over the chair back being placed anywhere along the back of the chair height. [0005]
  • The invention includes a singular piece of fabric comprised of any material and having an opening with an elastic or hook-and-loop opening to fit over any chair back. This invention can be used in combination with or without a chair cover and fits a variety of sized chairs. [0006]
  • The method includes a singular piece of fabric with an elastic or Velcro band and placing the open circular end over and around the chair back at any height within the scope of the back of the chair. Thus, covering the back and enhancing the overall “look” of the chair structure.[0007]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The invention is further described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein: [0008]
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the invention; [0009]
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the invention located higher on the chair first illustrated in FIG. 1; [0010]
  • FIG.[0011] 3 is a perspective view of the invention attached to a chair with an open back;
  • FIG. 4 is a view of the invention showing an elastic or Velcro band, with the top stitched area, and the opening of the stitched area allowing for the elastic or Velcro band to be passed through the opening, and showing the fabric “chair skirt” comprised of any solid, printed, patterned or textured fabric.[0012]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings illustrates a combination chair, chair cover and skirt in accordance with the principles of the present invention. The combination in FIG. 1, 2 and [0013] 3, includes a chair having legs 10, a seat 12, and a seat back 13; such as a banquet chair or a wooden folding chair 14, shown and described herein for the purpose of illustration.
  • The combination in FIG. 1 and [0014] 2 also includes a chair cover 17, composed of a singular piece of material used to cover the chair embodiment.
  • The combination in FIG. 1 and [0015] 2 includes a skirt, comprised of 15 and 16, composed of a piece of fabric 15, with an elastic or Velcro band 16, encircling the back seat of the chair.
  • The [0016] fabric 11 and 15, described herein may consist of solid, prints or patterns or may have different colors or textures of all types of material with a variety of shapes and sizes, as shown in FIG. 1, 2 and 3.
  • With reference to FIG. 3 and [0017] 4, the circular opening of the “chair skirt”, comprising of elastic or Velcro, encircles the back of the chair and may be placed anywhere within the scope of the back of the seat. Thus, covering the back portion of the chair.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, typically the fabric is stitched [0018] 19, at least one inch from the top of the “chair skirt” 11, leaving a loop 20, for the elastic or Velcro band 18, to pass through the opening, allowing the “chair skirt” 11, to stretch over the back of the chair.
  • While certain exemplary embodiments have been described and shown in the accompanying drawings, it is to be understood that such embodiments are merely illustrative and not restrictive of the current invention, and that this invention is not restricted to the specific constructions and arrangements shown and described since modifications may occur to those ordinarily skilled in the art. [0019]
  • For example, the material composing the skirt of the invention could be any generally cloth-like material: plastic, latex, foil, cotton, polyester, and so on. [0020]
  • [0021] Band 16 could be fastened using materials other than hook and loop fasteners or elastics. For example, the band could simply be tied, or could be fastened together using a pair of magnets, a button, and so on.
