- the second flaw is the implication of the 99.97% bacteria removal rate in Lockheed Martin group's system.
- Grams of anthrax contains approximately 10,000 trillion anthrax, 0.03% of anthrax that escape from the system would translate into 3 trillion spores to pass through the system into public.
- An error margin of 0.03% is not acceptable when such error margin represents trillions of deadly bacteria spores flow into the general public. Such error margin will post enormous health risk to postal workers.
- the third flaw is the use of the ventilation in its system.
- the fact that ventilation is used in the system will increase spread of bacteria multiple times especially when the bacteria spore is smaller enough to go through the system without being detected.
- the ventilation inside the system will blow contaminated air to everywhere.
- the fourth flaw is the absence of the devices that can detect the radioactive contamination in the mail. If the terrorist spread the radioactive material to the public through mail, Lockheed Martin group's system will not be able to stop such isotope attack, which may be more deadly than biological attack. Without the ability to detect the radioactive material, their system put not only the postal worker at the great risk of radioactive exposure but also the mail receivers who are exposed to such materials. The last flaw is that Lockheed Martins' system is not a killing system, it is only a 99.97% detecting system.
- My invention is a system that will counter both biological and isotope attack. It will correct the flaws that exist in the Lockheed Martin's “Bio-Mail solution”. My invention consists of two parts.
- the first part is a plastic container that is installed inside of a postal box. As people drop their letters to the postal box, the letters are dropped into this plastic container, remove the container from the postal box and place an empty plastic container in the postal box for accepting new mails. The postal workers then return the sealed plastic boxes back to the postal office for radiation processing.
- the second part of invention is devices, which allows subjects pass through it.
- the two devices are installed.
- One device is the G-M counter to check whether the subject passing through the device contains the radioactive material.
- the other devise is a high-level gamma ray radiation source, which will kill all the deadly bacteria such as anthrax.
- This device will be installed on mail transportation line that transfers the mail from internal mail dropping area to the place where postal workers sort and process the mails.
- the invention works as following. As postal worker return to the postal office with the sealed plastic containers, they place he plastic containers on the transportation line that will move the plastic containers to the mail sorting and processing area. As the plastic container passing through my device installed on the transportation line, the G-M detector in my device will examine whether there is radioactive material in the plastic container. If there is radioactive contamination, my device will knock out the container off the transportation line and passing the high-level gamma ray radiation source to kill the potential deadly bacteria inside the plastic container. Therefore, when the plastic containers reach the mail sorting and processing area, they are free of both radioactive contaminations and deadly bacteria. Postal workers can start sorting and processing the mails freely without the danger of exposure to deadly anthrax and radioactive materials.
- Plastic bag inside the postal box achieves two major goals. First, it eliminates the postal worker's risk of contracting disease from handling contaminated letters as they receive the mails from the postal box. Second, by using the plastic container to collect the mails, we reduce the spread of anthrax that are in the mail because the mail from each postal box is confined into a separate plastic box, any possible anthrax in the mail will only contaminate the mails within the same plastic container.
- My invention for the device or radiation room that are installed on the transportation line will kill the bacteria spores 100% instead of only detecting 99.97% that other systems claims.
- My invention can be just as effective cleaning up the bacteria when they are extremely small since gamma ray radiation will kill the bacteria regardless their sizes.
- Other systems such as that from Lockheed Martin group are not able to remove the bacteria spores when their size drops below 0.3 microns in diameter.
- My invention is also able to detect the radioactive contamination in the mail. This capability will stop terrorist's isotope attack through the mail.
- Another benefit of my invention is its simplicity and low cost. Organization both large and small can implement them at low costs and much faster pace. Many others systems on the market are expensive and are affordable by large organizations. This put people who don't have a lot of resources at disadvantage. My invention, with its cost that is a much smaller fraction of other systems on the market will provide the protection against terrorist attack for much greater population than those expensive systems.
- My invention is a much more effective system than the current systems and it counters both terrorists′ biological attack and isotopes attack. With its much lower cost and great effectiveness, it should be made known to the public as soon as possible so that people can protect their health and life against terrorism attack as earlier as possible.

Abstract
Since Sep. 11, 2001 event happened, the terrorists use anthrax through the mail to U.S. citizens. In order to counter their threats. I invented a patent that not only counters bio-attack, but also counters possible isotope radiation attacks by terrorists who wish to cripple as well as kill U.S. citizens through our mail system. My invention is as following:
a Currently postal workers pick-up letters one by one by hand [I propose they collect letters using plastic boxes] so that the postal worker can avoid any contamination from handling the mail.
b After all, letters and or parcels are collected in these plastic mailboxes then they are placed on a transportation line to check for radiation.
c All letters and or parcels pass along the transportation line into a radiation room [the high radiation kills all of the anthrax and bacteria]. This process is also suitable for trucks and or shipping containers.
d After the screening process the letters, parcels, trucks and or shipping containers are sent to the postal worker for regular processing.
The cost of using our nuclear waste for a beneficial purpose is extremely low because they are derived for existing “nuclear waste” produce by our nuclear power plants. The U.S. has currently 103 nuclear power plants, which produce a lot of nuclear waste [that are no longer useful as fuel]. This nuclear waste has very higher radiation level, which can be used to kill all kind of bacteria including anthrax. Our current policy for disposing of this nuclear waste is to bury it and specially designed containers in abandon mines. I propose that some of this nuclear waste be used in a beneficial way such as I have outlined above.
Description
- I will explain the following points in this document:
- A. What is the current solution for detecting deadly anthrax and bacteria by mail?
- B. What are the problems of the existing solution?
- C. Why is my invention so good?
- D. What are the benefits of my invention and how can my invention solve the problem the current terrorists attack us by mails?
- (A). What is the current solution for detecting anthrax and bacteria by mail?
- Since the discovery of anthrax nail after 9-11 event, the mail delivery has been changed. Postal Service across the United States has taken additional precautions in its mail processing procedures to prevent and reduce the spread of potential anthrax in the mail. US postal service has also taken steps further to acquire new systems to detect possible biological contamination in the mail it processes. One of the well-publicized detection systems is Lockheed Martin group's “Bio-Mail solution” which is designed to detect and remove the anthrax spores through the mails. Lockheed Martin group claims their technology is able to detect and remove 99.97% of contaminants such as anthrax that are greater than 0.3 microns in diameter. It is developed by Lock Martin distribution technologies.
- (B). What are the problems of the existing solution?
- One of the reasons for my invention is to create a new system that resolves fundamental flaws in Lockheed Martin group's “Bio-Mail solution” system. The fact that no one is speaking out on these system flaws will put general public in United States in great danger of bio-terrorism. To better understand how my invention is a much more effective system to combat the bio-terrorism attack than Lockheed Martin group's “Bio-Mail solution”, we must first understand why Lockheed's “Bio Mail solution” is ineffective. Following are major flaws in its system.
- According to Lockheed Martin group's specification, their system can detect the bacteria spores that are greater than 0.3 microns in diameter. In other word, the system is useless to protect people from bacteria spores such as anthrax, when the diameter of spores is smaller than 0.3 microns. This is major flaw because the terrorists can grind the anthrax carrier powder or other bacteria spores carrier powder repeatedly to produce the spores that are less than 0.3 microns, even around 0.1 microns. With such small size, the bacteria can easily penetrate the system without even been detected. This flaw puts people, especially US postal workers, who will handle great amount of mails in great danger to contract the disease when the bacteria spores are less than 0.3 microns in diameter.
- The second flaw is the implication of the 99.97% bacteria removal rate in Lockheed Martin group's system. Lockheed Martin claims that their “Bio-Mail solution” can remove 99.97% bacteria contaminants and leave 0.03% bacteria contaminants unremoved. This may sound like an effective way to remove the bacteria spores, but in fact, it will not stop the bacteria from spreading around. Grams of anthrax contains approximately 10,000 trillion anthrax, 0.03% of anthrax that escape from the system would translate into 3 trillion spores to pass through the system into public. An error margin of 0.03% is not acceptable when such error margin represents trillions of deadly bacteria spores flow into the general public. Such error margin will post enormous health risk to postal workers.
- The third flaw is the use of the ventilation in its system. The fact that ventilation is used in the system will increase spread of bacteria multiple times especially when the bacteria spore is smaller enough to go through the system without being detected. The ventilation inside the system will blow contaminated air to everywhere.
- (C). Why is my invention so good?
The two devices are installed. One device is the G-M counter to check whether the subject passing through the device contains the radioactive material. The other devise is a high-level gamma ray radiation source, which will kill all the deadly bacteria such as anthrax. This device will be installed on mail transportation line that transfers the mail from internal mail dropping area to the place where postal workers sort and process the mails.
- (D). What are the benefits of my invention and how can my invention solve the problem the current terrorists attack us by mails?
My invention can be just as effective cleaning up the bacteria when they are extremely small since gamma ray radiation will kill the bacteria regardless their sizes. Other systems such as that from Lockheed Martin group are not able to remove the bacteria spores when their size drops below 0.3 microns in diameter.
- My invention is also able to detect the radioactive contamination in the mail. This capability will stop terrorist's isotope attack through the mail.
- By removing the ventilation components before the anthrax are killed, my device avoids the negative side effect that exists in other systems when the contaminated air are blown into empty space and speed up the spread of the deadly anthrax that escape from the system.
- Regarding to the potential damage to the sensitive subjects in the mail such as film or medicine from the high-level gamma ray radiation, a special procedure should be implemented for people who should send sensitive material directly to the postal office. Postal office can examine such mail separate upon customer's request.
- My invention is a much more effective system than the current systems and it counters both terrorists′ biological attack and isotopes attack. With its much lower cost and great effectiveness, it should be made known to the public as soon as possible so that people can protect their health and life against terrorism attack as earlier as possible.
Claims (2)
