Abstract

The aforesaid and other objectives are realized providing a preferred embodiment of a lawn vacuum attachment having a bag with wheels positioned at the opposing sides thereof to allow the attachment to be rolled along a lawn or other surface. With the attachment so connected, the user can manually roll the attachment over the lawn instead of carrying it while holding the lawn vacuum machine as it operates.

Description

    DESCRIPTION BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to a leaf vacuum bag. More particularly, the invention relates to a leaf vacuum bag having wheels attached to the rear end of the leaf blower/vacuum bag for rolling above the ground. [0001]
  • In recent years homeowners and others have devoted more time and energy than ever before creating and maintaining a “manicured” lawn. Such homeowners confronted with the task of collecting large amounts of leaves, grass clipping, or other garden and yard wastes have led many manufacturers to capitalize on this market by providing, in addition to more versatile lawnmowers, weed trimmers and the like, an abundant supply of hand-held pneumatic devices (both electrical and gasoline powered) to vacuum and or blow leaves and debris from the lawn. Such leaf vacuum/blowers machines are relatively light in weight but are tiring when carried by an adult for extended periods of time during operation. Furthermore, operators of these machines must also carry the leaf vacuum/blower bag around their shoulder at the same time. This same bag becomes bulky and heavy, resulting in added frustration to the operator. U.S. Pat. Nos. 5,522,115; 5,638,574; 4,325,163 show but a few of the vacuum/blowers machine now available. [0002]
  • Thus, the present invention seeks to provide a solution to this problem by providing a leaf vacuum bag with wheels incorporated into the bag. Having a mobile bag increases the user's convenience, save time and energy in the lawn vacuuming process. Furthermore, the present invention is substantially depart from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and doing so provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of allowing a leaf vacuum bag to convert into a leaf vacuum bag with wheels so as to transport and move without carrying. [0003]
  • While leaf vacuum/blower bags have not previously included wheels, it is known to use wheels on other devices. Examples are: trailer box [U.S. Pat. No. 5,291,722]; lawn and leaf bag [U.S. Pat. No. 4,846,427]; lawn vacuum attachment and method [U.S. No. 6,281,532 B1]. [0004]
  • It is, therefore, the object of this invention to provide a device and method by which the process of carrying the leaf vacuum bag and its contents by the users is essentially eliminated. [0005]
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new and novel leaf vacuum bag having a wheel assembly means for ease in transporting and moving the leaf vacuum bag and for allowing a large packing capacity [0006]
  • It is another object of this invention to provide a leaf vacuum bag with simple, inexpensive and efficient means for attaching the wheels to the rear end of the bag [0007]
  • It is another object of the invention to provide a leaf vacuum/blower bag with a wheel assembly means, which will provide balance and stability to the bag when the bag is rolled on the wheel assembly means [0008]
  • It is yet another object of the present invention to provide an attachment and method which can be easily affixed and removed from a conventional hand-held lawn vacuum without special tools or training. [0009]
  • Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the drawing and description of the invention [0010]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The inventor has observed that manually carrying a leaf vacuum machine and its attached bag around the shoulder is tiring and frustrating. Furthermore, during the process of vacuuming, the same bag becomes bulky and heavy adding a viable cause of back injury. [0011]
  • Accordingly, a device and method has been invented to collect the leaves using leaf vacuum machine provided with an attachment of a mobile bag. The leaf collection bag is connected to the front of the leaf vacuum/blower machine. The rear side of the bag is placed on at least two wheels, preferably two, of sufficient rigidity and strength to be able to support the bag's weight and its content.[0012]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • The invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof, such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein: [0013]
  • FIG. 1 is a plan view of the preferred mobile leaf blower/vacuum bag in accordance with the invention, with respective position of the rear side wheels [0014]
  • FIG. 2 is a plan view of the new design bag shown by broken lines of FIG. 1 for illustrative purposes only and forms no parts of the claimed design; [0015]
  • FIG. 3 is right sides elevational view thereof, the left elevation being a mirror image of that shown; [0016]
  • FIG. 4 is a front elevational view of new design depicted in FIG. 1 [0017]
  • FIG. 5 is a rear elevational view of the new design depicted in FIG. 1; [0018]
  • FIG. 6 is a bottom plan view with the rear side wheels [0019]
  • FIG. 7 is an enlarged section of the bottom right side view of the wheel, the left elevation being a mirror image of that shown[0020]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7, the preferred embodiment of the new improved leaf vacuum bag having wheels embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention. [0021]
  • Specifically, it will be noted in the various figures that the device relates to a leaf vacuum bag as having wheels allowing a leaf vacuum bag to convert into a leaf vacuum bag to one with wheels so as to move without carrying. In its broadest context, the device consists of a leaf vacuum bag and at least one pair of wheels. Such component is individually configured and correlated with respect to the bag so as to attain the desired objective. [0022]
  • The leaf vacuum bag has a general configuration illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. The [0023] bag 10 has an open upper end 11 and a rear end with zipper 12. The open upper end 11 connects to the leaf vacuum machine. The bag 10 includes a shoulder strap 13. The perspective view in FIGS. 1 and 2 shows the pair of wheels 14 disposed within the rear end of the bag. The pair of wheels 14 has an axle 15 disposed there between as illustrated in FIGS. 3 through 5.
  • More particularly, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the rear end of the modified bag includes a [0024] rigid base plate 16 having brackets 17 mounted thereon at the opposite ends thereof with screws 18 and bolts 19. The wheels 14 include the brackets 17 which accommodate movement of the wheels.
  • As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. [0025]
  • With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and the manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to these illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention. [0026]
  • Therefore, the forgoing is considered as illustrative only on the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modification and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling with the scope of the invention. [0027]
