Abstract

A belt to be worn around the waist that contains microfilmed or reduced pages of the Bible on the surface of the belt. The reduced pages can be either applied to the surface of the belt or the microfilmed pages can be fitted into laminated grooves so that the film can be seen from the outside of the belt. The pages of the Bible can be photographically reduced onto paper, microfilm, plastic or metal and then can be adhered to the belt surface. A bracelet can also be fitted with the same reduced pages. A thick magnifying glass is fitted into the buckle in order to read the reduced pages.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The object of this invention is concerned with a waist belt which is embossed with, imprinted with, etched with or adhered to the surface of, all the pages of the Bible photographically reduced to fit on the entire surface of a belt worn around the waist.

The design of this belt is for religious and spiritual purposes. The belt is intended for individuals who feel more secure surrounded by the words of the Bible. Due to the advances in photo-reduction, microfilm and the reducing capacity of the word processing computer, the pages of the Bible can be fitted onto the surface of a belt or bracelet. The reduction, when enlarged and made legible for reading, must contain all the pages contained in the Bible.

There are many religious objects worn by Christians, including crosses, crucifixes, rosary beads, bracelets, rings and belt buckles embossed with religious symbols. This particular invention is an addition to the paraphernalia and adornments worn for the same religious purposes.

Other patents have not revealed themselves concerning this invention. A patent search has not shown a belt; embossed with, photographed to, glued to, etched with all the pages of the Christian Bible, Old and New Testament. The belt, whether; leather, plastic, cloth or metal can be utilized as a base for the reduced pages of the Bible, in the from of paper, microfilm, embossed plastic or etched onto a material of plastic, paper, or metal and then adhered to the belt base.

The means by which the Bible pages are reduced include, microfilm. The reduction of the Bible by this means has already been achieved and this patent is not claiming the technology of the reduction process because it already exists, as does the photo-reduction process as well as the etching process and the capability to emboss words onto any surface. The claims of this patent are not to infringe on any of these processes. The intent of this invention is to adhere those reduced pages to the surface of a belt and to claim that the belt contains the words of the Bible in its entirety.

The process by which the microfilm, etched metal, embossed paper, photocopied paper containing the pages of the Bible is adhered to the belt does not require any special or newly invented procedures. The pages will be sewn, weaved, glued, adhered to, engraved on or riveted to the outer or inner surface of the belt.

The same process can also be utilized with a bracelet, also fitted with microfilm of the photographically reduced pages of the Bible, so that a person can wear the word of the Bible on the wrist. The process for adhering or affixing the microfilm to the bracelet is the same process used to adhere it to the belt.

The belt is fitted with a magnifying glass lens belt buckle to read the microfilm or the reduced pages fitted on the belt.

Other patents that utilize embossed letters, words or channels on the belt have been known, U.S. Pat. No. 4,144,594 Chapman, has an embossed belt and a process for filigreed belts with words on them. While, Kalomeris, U.S. Pat. No. 4,525,879 has an inner pocket with a zipper for concealing money or important papers. U.S. Pat. No. 4,665,591, Servay has a specific belt buckle construction decorative material retention device. Chapman's belt is used for typing large letters on the belt surface while the reduced page belt has channels for the microfilm or paper insets to be slid into.

Kalomeris' inner pocket is for security and is hidden from the outside of the belt while the intended device has channels that house the script on the microfilm or paper inserts to be seen from the outside. The Servay decorative belt buckle is for special fittings of specific design on a buckle. The magnifying glass of the intended device is not decorative and is merely a glass lens to use in reading the enclosed reduced pages of the Bible.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The reduce page Bible belt, known as Bible Belts, is a waist belt worn around the body and attached to or in the surface of the belt are all the pages of the Bible, Old and New Testament or just the New Testament. The reduced pages are adhered to the surface of the belt material by means of glue, thread, rivets or heat. The pages are photographically reduced to fit the entire surface of a belt. The pages can also be microfilmed, engraved or embossed onto the belt surface. The microfilmed pages of the Bible are slipped into laminated grooves along the surface of the belt.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENT

The reduced page Bible waist belt is a belt of either; leather, plastic or clothe fitted with the pages of the Bible. The belt worn around the waist or the bracelet worn about the wrist can either be fitted with the reduced pages on the inside or outside surface. Some people may choose to wear the pages of the Bible on the inside as not to advertise their religious persuasion. FIG. 1 shows the belt with the pages of the Bible reduced and adhered to the outer surface of the belt ([0016] 1) and with the reduced Bibles pages in the laminated channels (2). FIG. 2 shows the reduced page Bible bracelet (4) with the reduced pages (2) showing the laminated channels. FIG. 3 is a section of the belt with a purposed pattern of the pages fitted (6) to the belt surface (1) or bracelet (4). FIG. 4 is the magnifying glass lens slide on the bracelet (7) and on the belt buckle (5).
When microfilm is used, the microfilm containing the Bible pages is slipped into laminated channels so that the film Is protected from moisture. The upper laminated channel houses the Old Testament and the lower channel, the Old Testament. In general, how the pages are fitted into or onto the belt is dependent upon the type of material used to reduce the pages of the Bible. [0017]
The microfilm can also be adhered in plastic sheaths as not to spoil the microfilm when glued to the belt surface. Paper pages would be laminated and then adhered to the belt surface by heat adhesion or glue or slid into plastic laminated canals cut into the belt. The laminated page holder can even be woven into the belt material so that they can be removed if the wearer wanted to prove their authenticity. The idea of this invention is to allow a person to wear an appurtenance of clothing or jewelry that gives them inner personal strength through the pages of a book they have faith and belief in. A belt that contains all the pages of the Bible that they may not be able to read without magnification, yet they can be assured that they carry the words of the book with them or on them at all times for their own inner strength. The magnifying lens on the belt buckle ([0019] 5) and on the bracelet (7) will allow a person to read the reduced pages when they are removed from the belt.

Claims

I claim:

1. A belt that contains all the pages of the Bible reduced to fit the surface of a belt worn around the waist.

2. A belt worn around the waist, which has all the pages of the Old and New Testament or just the pages of the New Testament attached to its surface. The pages have been photographically reduced onto paper, microfilm, plastic or metal and are then adhered or cut into the belt's inside or outside surface.

3. The reduced pages of the Bible can also be fitted onto or into a bracelet when microfilm is used so the device can be worn around the wrist.

4. A buckle that contains or houses a magnifying glass lens in order to read the reduced pages of the Bible.
