Abstract

The inventor's purpose is to suppress the flash from the burning embers of the cigarette and to give the cigarette protection from the weather. This invention goes beyond the limits of a cigarette holder by providing a shield from the light caused by the burning embers of the cigarette.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
  • The field of invention to which this specificly applies is smoking. The invention goes beyond the limits of a cigarette holder by providing a shield from the light caused by the burning embers of the cigarette. [0001]
  • It also protects the cigarette from the weather and allows the smoke to be dispersed rather than coming out in a steady stream. [0002]
  • This will permit soldiers and hunters to keep their hands free and remain alert to their surroundings instead of having to cup their hands around the cigarette or keep a poncho over their heads at night. [0003]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • This invention's purpose is to reduce the light signature of a lit cigarette by having a ventilated shield around the cigarette. This will also protect the cigarette from the weather and reduce the amount of smoke from a very heavy, visible steady stream to a lighter, cloudier mist of smoke. [0004]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
  • The purpose of this invention is to reduce the light signature caused by the glowing embers of the cigarette and dissipate the smoke into a less heavier stream and/or a light of smoke rather than a constant heavy stream that comes off a cigarette normally. [0036]
  • It also is invented to give the cigarette some protection from the weather, enabling the user to smoke even in the most restrictive of weather. The designer intended the invention for combat use but it would be of good use to anyone with an outdoor job, hobby, or chore. This makes the invention ideal for soldiers, hunters, fishermen, construction workers and any smoker with an outside career, or even if the smoker has outside chores like mowing the grass, shovelling snow, or other things of this nature.   • The majority of of the work involved in the invention's manufacture is in turning down the material (the process of shaving material off by the use of an engine lathe, CNC lathe, multispindle, or screw machines or any other machine with this capabiility. [0038]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION—SPECIFICATIONS
  • The first part of the invention is the stem, which starts out with 0.160 thousands of an inch in diameter round sphere shape, that leads into a six degree taper that is 0.100 thousandths of an inch in diameter at its smallest point ] and 0.300 thousandths of an inch in diameter at its largest point, which then drops abruptly down to 0.175 thousandths of an inch in diameter and extends 0.750 thousands of an inch in length. The stem has a 0.050 thousandths of an inch hole bored through it through which the air is drawn into your mouth. It has an overall length of 1.750 thousanths of an inch in length and is made of plastic. [0039]
  • This is the part that goes into your mouth and is gripped by your teeth. This part will be the piece through which you draw the smoke in your mouth. The semisoft material is made of plastic and used for the purpose of cushioning your teeth. The sphere is is used to keep the stem locked into your teeth and subsequently to keep the suppressor from slipping out of your mouth. [0040]
  • The tail end of the stem is the part that fits snugly into the adjoining second part of the invention. [0041]

  • The second part of the invention is the holder and it starts out with a six degree taper that is 0.300 thousandths of an inch in diameter at its smallest point and 0.500 thousandths of an inch in diameter at its largest point. Then it has an extended grip rim to aid in disassembling the unit., which is 0.700 thousandths of an inch in diameter, after which It drops abruptly back down to 0.500 thousandths of an inch in diameter and extends one inch in length.   • The part has a 0.175 thousandths of an inch in diameter hole drilled into its center that starts at the front of the part and extends 3/4 of an inch in length into the part. This hole will lead into another hole that is 0.300 thousandths of an inch in diameter and extends 0.860 thousandths of an inch in length, at the end of which it opens to a larger diameter hole in which threads are cut. This extends 0.140 thousands of an inch in length. [0043]
  • This is the part that will hold the cigarette and it is the center piece of the invention. It connects the stem on one side and will screw onto the optional spacers or the suppressor itself. The part is made of 3000 series aluminum. [0044]
  • The third part is the spacer. The spacer is ½ inch by ½ inch and tubular in shape. It has external threads that go in from the front of the part 0.140 thousandths of an inch. The part is knurled the rest of the way across for grip. There are four 0.50 thousandths of an inch in diameter holes drilled around the part, spaced 90 degrees from eachother and are located 0.250 thousandths of an inch from either end of the part. The spacer is bored through. The bore is 0.400 thousanths of an inch in diameter and has a very rough finish. There are internal threads that extend inward from the rear of the spacer 0.140 thousandths of an inch in length. [0045]
  • The spacer is optional. It is used to extend the length of the suppressor because some cigarettes are longer than others. For this reason more than one may be required. The four 0.050 thousandths of an inch around the spacers are for ventilation. Claims (3)

1. I claim the cigarette flash suppressor as my invention. It suppresses the flash from the burning embers of the cigarette so that the bright flash from the cigarette cannot be seen from anywhere past a few inches from the suppressor.
2. The invention also acts as a weather guard so that the user can smoke in restricting weather conditions.
3. My invention, the cigarette flash suppressor, has four pieces: the stem, the holder, the spacer, and the suppressor.
