Description
R. H. KERR ET AL ADVERTISING DEVICE June 23, 1931.
Filed April 11, 1930 Invenlor; Z2. fife/"l" E E. m/bfi A Ilomcy Patented June 23, 1931 ire!) STATES PATENT OFFICE RUSSELL HERBERT AND EDV] Al -1D F. URICH, OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS ADVERTISING DEVICE Application filed April 11,
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in advertising dc ices, and more particularly to a novel device for advertising by means animated display.
The principal object of this invention is to provide a display device for adver'sing purposes, which can be placed in the window of a vehicle, and will vibrate or perform animated motion when the vehicle is being driven.
During the course of the following specification and claim, other important objects and advantages of the invention will readily become apparent to the reader.
In the drawings 2 Figure 1 shows a front elevational view of a pair ofelements pivotally connected together, and further showing one of these elements in dotted line position to describe its motion with respect to the other.
' Fig. 2 represents an edge elevation of the novel device.
Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that Fig. 1 shows a pair of elements 5 and 6 representing human limbs, pivotally connected by the rivets 7.
it is to be understood that while the representation is of human limbs, various other symbolic displays may be adopted without departing from the spirit and scope of this invention.
In conjunction with the pivotally connected elements 5 and 6, an elongated spring wire 8 is employed, each end of which is bent laterally as at 9, and each element is secured at the said end portion 9 to one of the elements 5 by adhesive tape 10 or some other suitable means.
it can thus be seen, that the elements 5 and 6 will assume the normal position shown in Fig. 1. Either the element 5 or the element 6 (preferably the element 5, in the present instance), is to be made stationary by securing to the glass frame of the window by the support 11 and from which the device is displayed.
Obviously, when the car is being driven, and vibrates to a certain extent, the free 1930. Serial No. 143,501.
lVhilc the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new is A display device symbolic of a pair of human limbs, said limbs pivotally connected at one end, a wire spring, one end of said spring secured to the body of one limb, the opposite end secured to the body portion of the opposite limb, thereby defining a loop, one of said limbs permanently attached to a movable object and the other limb adapted to swing freely when said movable object is vibrated.
In testimony whereof we aflix our signatures.
