Description
- March 8, 1932. M. BuTcHEfe HAIR NET Filed April 10. 19:51
Patented Mar. 8, 1932 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE HAIR NET Application filed April 10, 1931, Serial No. 529,258, and in'G-reat Britain December 19, 1930.
This invention relates to an improved hair net for use particularly in permanent hair waving, water setting and any other hair Waving process.
It is the object of this invention to provide a hair net suitable for use in permanent hair waving and the invention consists in a hair net formed from a semi-rigid material such as a combination of wire and silk or like material. I
Further features of the invention will be apparent from the following description.
In the accompanying drawings Figures 1 and 2 are front and back views respectively showing the hair net in position on the head of a person, and
Figure 3 is a fragmentary View of the hair net.
Referring to the drawings the improved net a is formed of wire I; (Figure 3) of a very fine 'auge covered with silk thread or other suitable material 0.
In the use of the improved net same is fitted on the head of a person over the previously formed waves after same have been set for drying and due to the semi-rigid nature of the net same is found to hold the Waves in position such that they cannot move from their set position without the necessity for holding the net in position by hand as in the case of the nets hitherto employed for this purpose and which are made purely from silk or like fabric material.
An important advantage of the improved net is that by the use of same it is possible to dispense with the usual pins for curling the ends of the hair since the semi-rigid net according to the invention serves itself to gri the ends of the hair and may be used to our same. much quicker when the improved net is employed. lhe net may be formed around its peripheral edge with a number of extensions d and these may conveniently be used for the purpose of curling the ends of the hair as above mentioned.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A hair net particularly intended for use It is also found that the hair is dried v in permanent hair Waving formed of pliable material capable of being shaped under the pressure of the fingers and of maintaining the shape imparted thereto whereby to hold the hair in a shape conforming to that of the net.
2. A net as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the material thereof is constituted by a Wire and a covering thereon.
8. A hair net as claimed'in claim 1, characterized by the provision of extended portions of the net adapted to curl the ends of the hair.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
LILIAN MAY BUTCHER.
