MANICURING SET Application filed Gotoher 8, 1831. Serial No. 567,1E4/
My invention relates to a new and useful manicure set which is compact and of a portable character, so that the manicurist can move it to any desired point.
it is the present practice for manicurists, when they are working on the hands of a customer sitting in a barbers chair, to at tach to the arm of the chair a portable pot or pan containing the soap solution for soaking the fingers, the balance of the tools or equipment being carried in a tray which is held on the lap of the operator. This practice greatly handicapped. the operator, since it restricted freedom of movement, and it greatly inconvenienced the person Whose hands are being manicured, since there is no convenient place for him to position his hands, which usually have to be held in position by the manicurist.
'lo obviate these disadvantages, I have clesigned novel manicuring set mounted on a vertical standard whichis provided with bottom rollers, so that it may be moved around the floor from one point to another. a fleXibie, adjustable lamp carried by said standard, a tray carried by said standard in a position under said lamp, a plurality of pots adapted to contain various ointments and solutions used, a rack adapted to contain various bottles and receptacles, a pad or rest for the hand being manicured, and a pot for containing the soap solution said pad and said pot being reversibly and detachably secured to the sides of said tray for the accommodation of the right and the left hand in turn.
My invention further consists of a bottom reversible drawer which can be drawn to or 40 opened from either side of the platform to render the instruments thereln immediately accessiole to the operator.
My invention still further relates to various other novel features of construction and advantage, all as hereinafter described and claimed in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a manicuring set embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a fragmentary plan View of Fig. 1,
Fig. 3 is a side el parts being omitted Fig. 4 1s a section r Fig. 0 1s a plan V1 forming Referring to the characters indicate a stem or standard ried by the tripod 2 evation of Fi 1 certain on line i-fi of Fig. 2. ew of a reversible drawer part of my invention.

whether the left or right hand is being treated. Similarly I provide the pad 20which has a bottom pin 2 1 for engaging either of the-apertured lugs, 10 or 13 to change the position of the pad 20 for the left or right hand position of the operator. The instru ments used are kept in part in the groove 23 to one side of the glass top 8, the rest of the tools used being kept drawer 25, which i in the sliding reversible s carried under the tray 7' and provided with the double handles 26 so that the drawer may be pulled out on either side of the tray 7 designates a stop for limiting the of the drawer 25. are positioned the cups 29 which are adapted to contain rouge,
pumice or other ointments, while the stepped rack 30 is provided with seats 31 for su pporting bottles containing the various preparations used the necks of said bottles projecting through the guide bracket 32 carried by the stem 84 immediately above the rack 30. The stem 34k carries the flexible shaft 86 which supports the light 87 in any desired position.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A manicuring set comprising a platform, a reversible sliding drawer carried by the underside of said platform, a plurality of apertured lugs on the periphery of said platform, and a finger bowl adapted to be detachably engaged and pivotally supported by said lugs.
2. The combination with a platform having a reversible pad on the upper side thereof, a reversible drawer carried by the underside thereof, a finger bowl pivotally supportable at one of a plurality of points along the periphery of said platform, a tool receiving groove, a plurality of cup shaped receptacles and a bottle rack along an edge of said platform, of a light carried by and disposed above said platform and a movable support for said platform.
3. Amanicuring set comprising a platform, a plurality of apertured lugs on the periphery of said platform, and a finger bowl adapted to be detachably engaged and pivotally supported by said lugs.
f. A manicuring set comprising a platform, a reversible sliding drawer carried by the underside of said platform, a plurality of apertured lugs on the periphery of said platform, and a finger bowl adapted to be detachably engaged and pivotally supported by said lugs, there being a tool receiving groove formed in the upper surface of said platform.
5. A manicuring set comprising a platform, a reversible sliding drawer carried by the underside of said platform, a plurality of apertured lugs on the periphery of said platform, a finger bowl adapted to be detachably engaged and pivotally supported by said lugs, and a bottle supporting rack carried by one end of said platform.
6. A manicuring set comprising a platform, a reversible sliding drawer carried by the underside of said platform, a plurality of aperture-d lugs on the periphery of said platform, and a finger bowl adapted to be detachably engaged and pivotally supported by said lugs, there being cup shaped depressions formed in the upper surface of said platform.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
LOUIS SNYDER.
