One of the objects is, to provide in combination with 1 an attractively designed server, means for facilitating the upper or serving part thereof to revolve upon the lower or stationary part thereof, and at the same time, preventing or restricting an upward or downward axial movement of the revolving part while allowing for an unrestricted revolving motion.
Another object of my invention is to provide in combination with an attractively designed server, a weight within the stationary base member thereof for stabilizing the device and preventingit from tipping.
The foregoing and further objects will be more fully apparent from the following de drawings, forming part of this disclosure, but by no means limiting it to the actual showing.

Referring to Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings, numeral 10 denotes a dish-shaped tray, to which is centrally attached a bottle receiver 11, provided with an annular rim 12, with which are associated tumbler or container receivers 13, in the shape of rings. Referring to Figures-3 and 4, astationary base member 23 is illustrated with which is vagain permanently associated the female part 24 of my pivotal means, in which is journaledthe .male part 25, which is associated with upright column 26, having a decorative handle 27. Extending sidewise at the lower part of the column 26 aretubular arms 28 which support at their enlarged ends29, cup-shaped bottle receivers 30, provided with annular runs 31, to which are attached tumbler supports 32. The bottle receivers are secured to their supports by means ofscrews and nuts 33. Vvitlnn the; base member there is provideda weight, indicated at 34, and a face plate 35, both of which are held in place by means of screws 36 extending from the female portion of my pivotal device.
In Figure 5 is shown in detail the construction of my pivotal device, which consists of a cylindrical male portion 36, topped by'a' disc-like extension 37 and terminating at its lower end ina cone 38. At the centerof the cyl'in drical portion 36 there is provided a threaded hole, adapted to receive a screw 39,
having a flat end 40, which. bears against the end of the hole. The female part 41 represents a hollow cylinder with an annular flange 42, which is. adapted to be attached to the base member, indicated in broken lines at 43. The hollow; portion of the female member is made to correspond with the shape of the cylindrical portion 36 of the male member.
The lower part of the female member is cone-shaped and its conical wall forms a continuation of the conical face of extension 38 of the male member.
As will be seen from the drawing, screw 29 passes through the central opening provided in the female member, and engages the male member. The length of the screw is so arranged that its flattened end 40 abuts with the end of the threaded bore provided in the male member. It is made impossible to clamp the female and male members together any in the female member when the screw is in its right posit-ion.
It will be seen from the above, that an axial upward or downward motion of the male member is prevented, while at the same time, an unrestricted rotary motion is facilitated.
Attached and depending from the lower part of the female member, there will be seen attaching screws 44, provided with nuts 45, by means of which the face or finishing plate 46 and a weight 47 are suspended. As will be seen from the drawing, the face plate preferably engages a recess formed in the base member of my device, so as to prevent rattling or shifting of the weight.
A modified form of my pivotal means is shown in Figure 6 where again a male member 48 is shown, which is topped by a disc 49 adapted to be associated with the rotary member of my server. The female member 50, provided with an annular attaching rim 51, is hollow to receive the cylindrical portion 48 of the male member. The latter is provided in this case with an annular recess or groove 52, engaged by a set screw 53, which functions in a similar manner to that of the screw 89 shown in Figure 5. Set screw 58 limits the axial upward or downward motion of the male member, while it assures an unrestricted rotary motion thereof. Extending from the female member in downward direction are attaching screws 54 serving for the same purpose as explained in connection with Figure .5.
It is immaterial whether the pivotal device shown in Figure 5 or that in Figure 6 is employed in connection with my server, and it is also immaterial of what particular shape or for which particular purpose the server is designed, as long as there is provided with such server a stationary base member and a rotary top member adapted to receive either beverages or beverages and solid food, and contains the principal ideas of my invention.
Be it understood therefore that changes and improvements may be made within the scope of my invention, for which I claim 1. Aserving device, comprising an upper rotary and a lower stationary member, the former superimposed upon the latter and supported thereby, pivotal means associated with said members and comprising upper and lower portions, the former portion permanently aflixe'd to said upper rotary member,
the lower portion permanently associated within and near the base-line of said stationary member, both held by said attaching means.
2. A serving device, comprising an upper rotary and a lower stationary member, the former including a bottle receiver having container supports associated therewith, said I stationary member supporting said rotary member, pivotal means associated wlth both members and comprising upper and lower portions, said lower portion having weight attaching means, a weight and a cover plate disposed within said lower stationary memher and suspended and held in place by said attaching means.
3. In combination with a serving device, a pivotal member comprising male and female parts, the former consisting of a cylindrical portion topped by a disc-shaped ex} tension, and terminating at its lower end in a cone, said female part comprising a hollow cylinder provided with a conical recess corresponding in shape to the cone of said male part, a screw engaging both of said parts and so arranged as to limit their axial movements in upward and downward directions, while allowing an unrestricted rotary motion of said male part within said female part, the latter having attaching screws for supporting a weight.
