Description
May 7, 1929. I E. B RUNHOFF ROTATABLE DISPLAY STAND Filed 00f. 1, 1927 INVENTOR.
ATTORNEY.
Patented May 7, 1929.
UNITED STATES i rinse-r PATENT m EDWARD BRUNHOFF, OF WYOMING, OHIO, ASSIGNOB TO THE BBJUINHOFF MANUFAC- TUBING COMPANY, CINCINNATI, OHIO, A CORPORATIUN OF OHIO.
ROTATABLE DISPLAY STAND.
Application filed October'l, 1927; Serial No. 223,413.
- vide for limiting the relative movement of the rack members so that while they may be parted to display the goods suspended thereon they are not permitted to concentrate the collective weight of the rack men'ibers and articles suspended thereon upon one side of the stand so as to render the stand liable to be upset by a concentration of weight upon one side of the stand. Another object is to provide an improved assembly of stand, rotatable member and detachable rack members adapted to be conveniently produced, packed for shipment, and assembled for the purposes intended. Another objectis to provide an improved assembly of rotating member and rael: members detachably and ad justably interlocked therewith. My invention also comprises certain details of form and arrangement and combination of components, all of which will be fully set forth in the description of the accompanying draw ings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation partly in central vertical section, of a display stand or rack embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the stand shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of one of the rack niemb rs detached.
Fig. 1 is an enlarged detail illustrating the manner of limiting the adjustment of the rack members relative to the rotatable member.
The accompanying drawings illustrate one embodiment of my invention in which represents a stand or stationary member comprisinga base 16, and a standard 17 projecting upwardly therefrom and provided with a shoulder 18. The base 16 is provided with soft rubber pads 19 where the base is designed to rest upon a counter or show-case, so as not to be liable to break or mar the object upon which the base 16 rests.
A rotatable member comprises a metal attached a downwardly cupped flange 21, and
Each rack member is preferably subdivid edalong its horizontal section 32 into a series of channels or spaces 33 by means of interposed bonds or humps 34-. Each space 33 is designed to receive one of the articles to be displayed. The upward loop 35 at the outer limit of each horizontal section serves to confine and prevent the articles on display be-y tached and moved radially away from the flange 22, that the lower end 27 reaches a position to be freed from its engagement with the flange 21. A price tag holder 42 is detachably mounted upon the upper end of the pedestal 17.
The diagonal sections 36 of the rack members serve to brace arid support the outer ends of the horizontal sections 32, and the weight of the articles carried thereby, thus providing in the rack members light weight combined w'th rigidity and strength to 'carry tire loads required. By providing six spaces 33 to each rack member the twenty/dour racl: members are adapted to support and display a cross of articl s, and in a compact space, while readily permitting the rack members to be parted as indicated in Fig. 4, so as to permit any one of the articles to be exposed to view and to light from any source or direction. By limiting the extent to which any one rack men ber may be moved pivotally relative to the rotatable member, the weightof the rack members and weight of "the goods carried thereby are not permitted to be sufiiciently concentrated upon one side of thesupporting standard 17 so as to cause the stand to be thereby upset. I
The apparatus herein shown and described is capable of considerable modification Within the scope of the claim without departing from the soirit of my invention.
book at the lower inner end of each. of said brace arms to engage and intr-zrloclr with a perforatien in said lower flange, a hook at the inner end of each of said supporting arms to resiliently eng ge from above with a perforati on in said upper flange to pivotally support said rack members upon and relative to said rotary member, and means to limit thepivotal movement of said respective rack mem bers relative to said rotary member.
In testimony whereoi I have aitlxed mv' signature.
EDWARD nnunnorr
