The present invention is directed to improvements in attachments for cotsor the like.

The primary object of the invention is to provide an attachment so constructed that it can be conveniently attached to a cot or the like and, when in place, will serve to retain heat and exclude cold from th'etop of the cot.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this kind constructed in such manner that the. crossed supporting legs of the cot will not rumple or distort the casing inorder that the maximum capacity of the compartments of the casing will be utilized for retaining heat and excluding cold.

Anotherobject of the invention is to provide a device of this kind which can be easily and quickly attached to or removed from the cot, as desired.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this kind which is so constructed that it will not interferewith folding of the cot.

With these and other objects in View, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combinationand ar rangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanyingdrawings, in which:

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates a folding cot which includes side rails 2 and end rails 3. To the side rails 2 are secured the upper ends of the end legs 4t and the upper ends of the intermediate legs 5, said legs being crossed and pivotally connected, as at 6. Supported by the side and end rails, as is customary, is the fabric on the line top 7. The construction thus far described is of the well known type.

Detachably secured to the cot isa casing 8 which includes a bottom 9; sides 10, ends 11 and a top 12 whichdefine a compartment 13 substantially of' the same width and length as thecot. K The sides 10ter minate at their upper ends in flaps 14 having carried thereby a plurality-50f snap sockets-15, the purpose of which will be later explained. 80

The casing 8 is formed from canvas'or other suitable fabricand the sides 10 thereof are provided with centrally disposed gussets 16' to accommodate the legs 5 so thatthe casing will retain its rectangular formation when the cot is in; use.

Fabric strips 17 are provided and are tacked upon the side'rails 2 and have thereon a plurality of heads 18 which cooperate with the sockets 15 to secure thecasing below 7 the top 7 of the cot. The top-12 of the casing will be maintained spaced from the top 7 of the cot to provide an additional compartment 1 9. i

It will be obvious that when a person is occupying the. cot warmth from the body will be transmitted to the compartments 13 and 19 and will be retained therein, and the cold excluded and prevented from reaching the top 7. Since heat will be retained and so cold excluded, the cot can be used without a mattress or pad.

While the device is illustrated inconnection with a cot of conventional formit will,

of course, be understood that it is equally well adapted for use in connection with various types of beds or cribs.

From the foregoing, it is thought that the construction, operation and many advantages of the herein described invention will be ap- 'gagement with the end bars 3. It will, of

course, be understood that we do not wish to be limited to the number of compartments.

If desired, the bottom 9 and top 12 can be I connected by cords or webs to prevent sagging ofthe bottom 9. 7

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed'is:

1. In a device of the class described, the

combination of a cot, a fabric casing forming a compartment for disposition under the top of the cot, the sides of the casing having gussets therein for accommodating certain legs of the cot. I I V 2. In a device of the class described, the

combination of a cot including a top and crossed supporting legs, a fabric casing defining a compartment, the sides of the casing having flaps carried thereby for detachably engaging the side rails of the cot, the top of the casing being spaced from the top of the cot to provide an additional compartment, the sidesof the casing having gussets carried thereby for accommodating certain legs of the cot when the cot is in its operative position.

3. In a device of the class described, the combination witha cot and its supporting legs,'of a fabric casing forming a compartment below the cot and shaped at the sides to accommodate certain of the legs of the cot, strips-fixed to the side rails of the cot, securing flaps extending from the sides of'the casing, and fastening devices removably securing said flaps to said strips.
