SHAVING-KIT CONTAINER.

My invention relates to a shaving kit container, more especially to a container for a safety razor and the usual shaving accessories.

It is among the objects of my invention to provide a shaving kit container of small, compact construction which shall be suit able for packing a razor, shaving brush and soap container in a convenient and accessible manner,

It is another object of my invention to provide a shaving kit container which shall embody a mounting member fora safety razor to which the several parts of the razor may be securely fitted and which shall be adapted to be moved out of place to provide access to the shaving brush underneath.

Various kinds of shaving kit containers have been heretofore proposed which generally consisted of a casing provided with suitable partitions corresponding in shape to the form of the implements that were packed therein, and on account of their structure they were ordinarily of a bulky nature if provision were made to contain all of the shaving implements such as razor, brush and soap container, while those of the less bulky type were usually provided with means for packing the razor and its accessories such as the blades separately, with no provision being made for brush and soap container.

In accordance with my present invention I provide a shaving kit container which is adapted for packing all of the shaving imlements within a very small space, there eing but a single partition in the casing member which is preferably hinged thereto to permit moving it out of place, and this partition member is so designed that all of the razor elements may be firmly secured to it on its upper side leaving suflicient space for a shaving brush to be disposed underneath.

In the accompanying drawing constituting a part hereof and in which like reference characters designate like parts, F 1 is a view in perspective of a shaving kit container embodying the principles of my invention and having a razor and brush arranged init; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a soap container adapted to fit into the container casing; and F 3 is a view in perspective illustrating the shaving kit container with all of the shaving implements removed.

Referring to Fig. 3 of the drawing the container comprises a casing 1 which may be of general rectangular form having a cover 2 hinged toone of its sides, and having a partition member 3 secured at one of its ends as by a hinged joint 4:. The partition 3 includes an offset end 5 having a por tion 6 which is shaped complementary to a guard A and clamp B (Fig. 1) of a safety razor, which razor parts are adapted to seat on the partition. The "portion 6 is further provided with perforations or openings 7 adapted to receive the depending lugs and stem portions of the razor clamp member which project through the blades and the guard. A spring clip 8 is secured at its lower portion 9 to the partition 3 in any suitable manner as by riveting, soldering or welding, and functions to receive the razor handle C and to hold it with sufficient firmness to cause the end of the handle to retain guard A and clamp B in position.

As shown in Fig. 1, a shaving brush E may be disposed underneath the partition member 3 with its head portion fitted into the enlarged space underneath the spring clip and with the bristle end of the brush disposed underneath the oifset portion 6 of the partition, it being understood that the bristle end of the brush yields and offers slight resistance to the closing of the partition me1nher to the position shown. Thesoa'p container, F 2, is placed in the casing 1 in front of the brush and partition member 3 and does not interfere therewith.

The several elements are assembled in the container as follows: The brush E is placed in its position as shown in Fig. 1, the razor is assembled on the partition 3 in the manner previously explained, and as illus trated, and the partition member is moved from its vertical position as shown in dotted lines to its horizontal position parallel with the bottom of the casing. The soap container F may then be inserted and the casing 'cover 2 closed, thus rendering the shaving kit container a compact and solidly filled package.

It is evident from the foregoing description of my invention that a safety kit container made in accordance therewith provides an inexpensive, durable, compact container for shaving implements which is rel atively inexpensive to manufacture and convenient and accessible for use, especially for traveling.

Although I have described a specific embodiment of my invention, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that modifications may be made in the details of construction and in the arrangement of the several cooperating parts without departing from the principles herein set forth.

I claim:

1. A shaving kit container comprising a casing having a cover, and a partition supported at the upper edge of one side of the casing, said partition having a downwardly offset portion affording a support for the guard and clamp of a safety razor, and the elevated portion of the partition being provided with means for receiving and detachably engaging a handle of a razor and for holding the handle firmly above said razor parts resting on the downwardly ofset portion of the partition to retain them in position.

A shaving kit container comprising a casing having a cover, and a partition supported at the upper edge of one side of the casing, said partition having a downwardly ott'set portion affording a support for the guard and clamp of a safety razor, and the elevated portion of the partition being provided with a spring clip for receiving the handle of a razor and for holding the handle firmly above said razor parts resting on the downwardly oiiset portion of the partition to retain them in position.

3. A shaving kit container comprising a casing having a cover, and a partition hinged at one end of the rear portion of an end. of the casing, the outer end of said partition being downwardly offset to afford a support for a guard and clamp of a safety razor, and the inner elevated end of said partition being provided on its top with a spring clip to receive an end of the handle of a safety razor the other end of which handle projects over said downwardly offset portion of the partition to hold the clamp and guard in place.
