Figure 1 is a fragmentary sectional View illustrating my device as used between the bottom of a door and the floor. t Figure 2 is a bottom plan View thereof. My invention comprises generally, a wedge shaped member of fibrous material for coacting floor, the thick end of said wedge being provided on the lower face thereof-with a rectangular shaped opening extending-into said wedge and a member of flexible material fixed in said opening and extending beyond said lower face for frictionally" engaging T the floor.
In the drawing, 1 represents a door and 2 the floor. 3 represents the body of my door check which may be of any desirable size or shape, but is preferably wedge shaped. This body portion may be of any desirable material, but is preferably formed of wood.
4 is the member for flexibly and frictionally engaging the floor 2. This member may be of any desirable material as felt, rubber 35 or the like and may wedge? 1n any desirable manner; 7
and which is cheaply and-easily.
between the bottom of a'door and the door f om rattling when in a closed position.
'As here shown, the rear or thick end of the body or wedge is formed with a rectangular shaped opening 5 inthe lower face thereof and a piece of rubber of the same general shape but preferablyslightlylarger. is compressed therein with a'portion thereof extending beyond the lower face of said body or wedge 3. v
If desirable, the member cemented in said opening 5-.
In use, the door 1 is placed" in the desired amay be glued or open position and the small or pointed end of the wedge shapedbody 3 is forced between the bottom thereof and the floor 2 I with the rubber member l'frictionally engaging the floor and compressed between the floor and the lowerfface 0f the wedge o.
This wedge. may'also be used'to keepthe What I claim is: p A door ChQCk'gCOIDPI'lSlDQQ a wedge shaped member of fibrous material for coacting between the bottom of a door and the floor, the
thick end of said wedge being provided on the'lower face thereof with a rectangular shaped openingextending into said wedge I and a member of flexible materi'allixed in said openlng and extending beyond said lower face for friot onally .engaglng said In. testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga, and- State of New York, th s 21st day of Nove'mber, 1927. be lined to the bodyor I GEORGE A.-.POWELL.
