COMBINATION BOWL AND RIM BRUSH.
Application filed July 31, 1926., Serial No. 126,171.
This invention relates to a brush suitable for cleaning bowls and the like, having an overhanging rim or a recessed groove.
The chief object of the invent on is to provide a brush for cleaning in its usual relation but also with means to clean an overhanging rim or recessed groove commonly found in bowls.
The chief feature of the lnvention consists in providing a peripheral rearwardly. and outwardly extending collar portion upon a brush of pointed character and a further feature consists in the provision of an annular portion constituting a rearward extension of said pointed portion and formed by the extension of the brush bristles of the rearwardly extending collar, said'point extension extending forwardly and outwardly from the handle.

The brush is constructed as follows: The handle 15 is reduced forming the sten1'18 and shoulder 19. The point 17 is formed by doubling a peripheral collar of bristles upon themselves intermediate their ends, and approximately at their mid-portion, and
clampingly retaining said double bristles upon the end of the stem by the retaining wires 21 associated with the double portion 20 of the bristles forming the head 17.
When it is desiredto elongate the brush, a
peripheral collar portion is formed by addi-- secured on the reduced handle or stem by a clamping wire or wires 25. When it is not desired to peripherally extend rearwardly the conoidal point, the aforesaid bristles may be omitted. The rearwardly and outwardly extending collar 16 is secured in the aforesaid rel ation by abutting the shoulder 19 asillustrated and the bristles are extended and abut the anchoring collar portion 24 of bristles22. This throws the other end of the bristles forwardly and outwardly as at 27 and the intermediate portion 26 is anchored to the stem by suitable retaining means such as the clamping wires 28.
The invention claimed is 1. A brush comprising ahandle having shoulder means adjacent one end thereof,
annular bunches of bristles secured along the end of said handle by binding, the
bristles of the on beyond the end of the handle and the ter annular bunch extending bristles of the inner bunch projecting .rearw'ardly and being deflected outwardly by the shoulder means.
