HENRY FABKOUH, OF BROOKLYN, NW YORK.
PORTABLE RADIOANTEN' N A.
Application led November 24, 1925. Serial No. 71,079.
This invention relates generally to antennas for radio receiving sets, and more particularly of the type known as loop antennas.
i An object of the invention relates to the provision of a novel form of loop antenna of simple construction and occupying a minimum space, and which may be readily Ifolded into compact formwhen not in use.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereofreference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.
Fig. 1 ,of the drawings is a general erspective view showing my improved Aoop antenna as it may be worn upon the person ofthe user of a portable radio set.h"g
Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail facefview of the antenna. y
Fig. 3 isan edge view thereof.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of my loop antenna in a -rolled up condition as when not in use.
Fig. 5 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view taken on the line 5-.5 of Figure 3.
In constructin this antenna I make use of a highly lexi le insulated wire 10, preferably ten strand silk covered 38 gauge wire. This wire is stitched in as indicated at 11 on a piece of rubberized cloth 12 of rectangular form. I have found thateighty feet of this wire arranged in seventeen turns is satisfactor The turns of the Wire are spaced a slight distance apart, while a comparativel large vacant space is left in' the centre. he coil or loop 1s then covered on the device. -f-
The device is provided with a hook 17 both sides with sheets 13 of rubberized cloth v The loop can be folded into a small roll which can easily be placed in a coat pocket,
and therefore is serviceable and advantageous foruse in hiking orV walking trips.
While I have illustrated and described myfinventionl with some degree of particularity, AI realize that in practice various alterations therein may be made. I therefore reserve the right and privilege of changing the form of the details of construction or otherwise altering the arrangement of the co-related parts without departing from the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new, and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows 1 l. In a loop antenna of the class ldescribed, having a sheet with wiring stitched thereon; the combination of a sheet placed on' one side of -said sheet with wiring, an-l v other sheet-placed on the other side of said sheetwith wiring, binding tape p laced along the edges of said sheet, and stitchings securing said sheets together. l
2. In a loop antenna of the class described, having certain turns of wire, the comblnation of a sheet, stitching, securing said sheet to said turns of wire, a sheet on each side of said sheet with attached wiring, a binding strip along the edges of said sheets, and Y stitchings securinv .said sheets together.
In testimony HENRY FARKOUH..
w'hereof I have alixedi'my signature. p
