DISPLAY AND STORAGE COUNTER.

Application filed January 18, 1923. Serial No. 613,343.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that ARMAND PETERSEN, a citizen of-the United States, residing at Omaha, in the county of Douglas and State of Nebraska, has invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display andStorage Counters, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein-to the accompanying drawings. The invention relates to store counter, and

has for its object to provide a combined display and"storage counter having the front part of its upper side inclined downwardly and outwardly and provided with glass closures, whereby goodsdisplayed .within the upper compartment of the counter may be observed by customers, however cannot be handled by the customers.

A further object is to provide the upper compartment with an inclined shelf on which goods may be displayed.

A further object is to provide the front side of the counter with a plurality of bins in which goods maybe stored, and the rear side of the counter with an elongated compartment in which goods may be stored. A further object is to provide the rear side of the counter with a plurality of doors, .whereby access to the upper compartment and the shelves may be easily had. I

With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawing, described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention may be-made within the scope of what is I claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the drawing Figure 1 is a perspective view of the counter showing the front thereof.

Figure'2 is a perspective view of the counter showing the rear side, thereof.

Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view through the counter taken on line 33' of Figure 1.

Figure 4 is a vertical transverse sectional view through the counter taken on line 4-4; ofFigure 1.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral .1 designates an elongated counter, which counter comprises the horizontal top 2, on which goods may be dispensed and wrapped, the vertical front wall 3, and the bottom 4, which rests upon the floor.. Extending through the front wall 3 of the counter is a plurality of bias 5, in which bins goods may be stored. The interior of the counter is provided with a downwardly and forwardly inclined partition 6, which forms an upper'display chamber 7, in which goods may be placed for display purposes, so that customers in front of the counter may observe the same through the inclined glass closures 8. thereby obviating the use of shelving on the walls or the storage'of a bulk of stock in a store room.

From the above it 'will" seen that a combined counter, displaylcounter and storage counter is provlded in which goods may be displayed and stored in such a manner that the goods may be arranged in an orderly manner and goods removed from the storage portions of the counter and displayed or vended. It will also be seen that the counter is simple in construction, the parts reduced to a minimum and one which may be cheaply constructed and sold.

The invention having been set forth what is claimed as new and useful is A combined counter and display device, said counter having its upper side horizontally disposed, said upper side terminating in a downwardly and forwardly extending inclined portion, said inclined portion being provided with transparent members, a downwai lly and forwardly inclined partition forming a compartment adjacent the of the counter below the horizontal upper side thereof and forming means whereby access may be had to the first mentioned 10 compartment.
