Be it known that WALTER M. COLE AN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, has invented certain new and useii'ul Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification. p
My invention relates to. improvements in toys'and is directed to a tojgsomewhat resembling a see-saw but is designed so that it may afi'ord amusement for a single child instead of requiring the cooperation of two children as is common in the ordinary seesaw structures. I
The objects of'the invention are to provide a toy'that is novel in construction and operation; which may be operated by onle co lapsed and folded together, when not 1n use, as to enable it to be placed under a bed or other low structure out of the way.

Above the base strips and fulcrum-frame there is provided a horizontal rock-bar 20,
to the under side of which the bearing bends 15, of the fulcrum-frame are pivotally con nected by means of bearing lates 21, for a purpose that will-presently explained.
. The rearend-of the rock-bar 20 is provided with a central longitudinal slot 22,-
and a 'seat'23 rests upon the upper side of too said rock-bar and has a bolt 24, projecting downwardly therefrom and through the slot 80 that a wing nut 25 on the lower end of the bolt, may look the seat in any longitudinally-adjusted position it may be placed on said rock-bar.
The seat has a pivoted vertical back 26, which maybe swung forwardly'to a horizontal position when the toy is not in use so .as to make the same compact and more readily stored away.
Onthe bottom or underside of the seat,
' one on each side of the rock-bar and these brackets sustain a cross-bar 28 which has a central off-set 29, that extends down and under the rook-bar, so that the rock-bar projects through this central off-set 29 in the cross-bar.
Two ends 30 are bent down from the cross-bar 28 and the lower extremities of these ends sustain a foot-rest or cross-bar 31.
The forward end of the rock-bar 20 is connected to one end of a spiral or coiled spring 32, while the other end of said spring is provided with a hook 33 which is detachably connected to the upturned end of the hook 19 on r the forward end of the brace-bar 17,-the spring hook '33, passing through the erforation in the said hook 19 after the atter has been inserted in the slot 9 of the foot-plate. This spring connection holds the hook 19, in engagement with the foot-plate 6 and also yieldingly draws the forward end of the rock-bar 20 down so as to normally keep the seat-end of said rockbar in the position shown in Fig. 1.

When it is desired to put the to away i the seat 23 will be drawn rearwar ly and removed from the rock-bar and the foot rest 31 then swung up so as to rest on top of said bar as the seat is returned as shown in Fig. 2.
The hook 33 of the spring will then be detached from hook 19 of the brace bar 17 and the latter then disconnected from The fulcrum 'frame 11 ma then ha y rocked in the bearings 13, and. t e rock-bar 20 thus lowered into the position shown in Fig. 2, wherein the entire structure is renderedcompact.

of a fulcrum-frame pivotally attached at one end to the base-structure; a rock-bar pivotally sustained by the fulcrum-frame so that'the end at one side'of said frame will be shorter than that {end at the opposite side of said frame; a spring attached to the shorter end of the rock-bar; a seat adjustably secured to the longer end of said bar, and means. forholding the fulcrumframe in the upright operating position.
4. The combination with a base structure,
of a fulcrum device pivotally attached to the base structure whereby it may be moved from substantially aihorizontal to substantiall a vertical position; a rock-bar pivotal y attached to the fulcrum device; a seat on one end of the rock-bar; yielding means connecting the other end of the rockbar and a brace bar engaging the fulcrum device to hold the latter in the elevated position.
5. The combination with a base structure having a'slotted means atone end. thereof,- of a fulcrum device pivoted to the base structure so as to swing upwardl therefrom; a rock-bar pivotally carrie at. the free end of the fulcrum device; a seat at one end of the rockbar; a brace bar attached to the free end of said fulcrum device and having a hook toengage and pass through the slotted means on the base structure and a springhavin one end engaging the said hook and its at or end attac e to the rockbar;
