To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, FREDERICK B. CAS- MIRE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chanute, in the county of Neosho and State of Kansas, have invented a. certain new and useful Improvement' in Mops, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in mops.

The object of my invention is to provide a mop with which the corners of a room may be easily and thoroughly cleaned, which is simple in construction, which is cheap to manufacture, is durable, and not liable to get out of order and which is easy to operate. v

A further object of my invention is to provide in a mop of the type having a cas- 4ing and a supporting frame of novel and simple means for attaching the casing to a supporting frame which is attached to a handle, which attaching means permits of the easy and quick mounting of the casing on the frame or of its removal therefrom for laundering purposes, and which fastening means dispenses with the use of but-tons, laces or similar securing means. The novel features of my invention are hereinafter fully described and claimed.

body 1 and a handle 4, to which the eXtensions 2 are attached.

Opposite sides of the handle 4 at its forward end may be grooved for the reception of the extensions 2. Said extensions have inwardly turned ends 5, Fig. 2, which eX- tend into a transverse hole 6 in the handle 4.

A ferrule 7 embraces the handle 4 and the extensions 2. A securing device, such as a nail or Vscrew 8 extends through the ferrule 7 nto'i-the handle 4 to hold the ferrule in place.'

Fitted over the frame 1 is a substantially triangular casing 9 having at its rear end 1() an opening l1 of less length than the width of the end 10. The rear end of the frame 1 normally extends outwardly beyond the ends of the opening 11, whereby the casing 9 is firmly retained on the frame 1. The resilient frame 1 is compressible, by squeezing toward each other the corrugated portions 3, to a position, in which the frame 1 may be withdrawn or inserted through the opening 11.

By having the extensions 2 of substantial length, such contraction of the frame 1 may be easily effected, and the handle being rigid, 4 may be retained in the angular position shown in Fig. 1, while the casing 9 is in a horizontal position.

The casing 9 is preferably provided with a shag 12 which covers the upper and lower sides of the casing.

The forward end of the casing 9 has attached to it a Wedge-shaped block 13, preferably formed of layers of fabric, with which corners may be easily and thoroughly cleaned.

By having the shag on both sides of the casing and having extensions 2 flexible,
