When this device is in use, two will prei erably be employed although it is obvious that it desired, a third one could be employedand have its line connected with the .pole between the curtains 2. .The housings will be secured to the window frame and the lines connected with the curtain pole. Ordinarily the lines will be wound upon the drums and the curtain .pole will be held in a raised position with the curtains hanging properly. lhen it is desired to remove the curtains, it is simply necessary to draw the curtains downwardly thus drawing the pole downwardly with the curtains and oi course drawing the lines lf3 downwardly and unwinding'the lines from the drums. lVhen the lines are drawn downwardly, they will pass through the openingsi ot the two housings and as the lines are drawn downwardly, the springs will be wound and thus placed under tension. After the curtain pole has been drawn downwardly to a pop sition where it can be easily reachedV and the curtains removed :from the pole, the curtain pole willV be swung away from the window Y duced extensions 8 back into the openings 7.

rThe springs 'can then windV the lines upon the drums and the curtain pole will be drawn upwardly to the raised position where it will be supported with the curtains hanging properly. lt will thus be seen that there has been providedv a curtain supporting device so constructed that the curtain pole may be normally supported in a raised position but permitted of being drawn downwardly 'for removal ot the curtain when so desired.
