WALL-BRACKET.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROY F. PERKINS, a'
provide a hanger for hot water bottles and the like, having novel means whereby the flexible tube of the bottle may be supported in such a manner that it will not crack.
A further object of the invention is to pro-' vide a hanger of the character described having a single hook provided at one end with an attaching loop and at its other end with a bill adapted to engage the attaching portion of a hot water bottle or the like.
Other. objects and advantages ofthe invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same,
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the im-.
proved hanger, parts being shown in section V i Fig. 2 is a plan View of the same, I Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the same in use 7 r Fig. 4 is an end elevation of the same,
Fig; 5 is a vertical transverse sectional view through a block embodied in the inven-g tion, and
Fig. 6 is a perspective of a hook embodled in the invention.
In the drawing, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 10 generally designates a body or block which is preferably formed from a single p ece of wood or like material and which includes a semi-circular rib 11 and a back 12 with which the semi-circular rib 11 is formed integral. As illustrated in Fig. 5, themtermediate portion of the longitudinally curved reinforcing rib 11 is formed with a transverse opening 14: which receives the shank 15 of a hook generally designated by e m r l 6- lg ank 1 of the h ok Specification of Letters Patent. S9151), 1921; Application filed March 23, i921 seriai N6. 454,645.
16 is offset intermediate its .ends'as indicated at 17 and this offset portion 17 contacts with .the under side of the laterally projecting semi-circular rib 11 so that the block or body is securely held on the hook. After passing the shank 15 through the opening 14, the end of the shank is formed with a loop 17; by means of which the device may A be suspendedfrom a nail or other support.
As illustrated in Fig. 4:, the offset portion 17 of the shank 15 disposes the lower 'portionof the shank in advance of or in spaced 7 relation to the'back 12 so that the apertured ear 18 of a hot waterbottle 19 may be readily and conveniently'connected to the bill 20 of. the book. It willbe noted'that the bill 20 of the hook extends slightly below the lower edge of the body so that thehot water bottle may be readily connected to the same.
The rib 11 which projects laterally from the back 12 and forms. a shoulder for engagement by the offset portion 17, has its reason of this construction the tube 23 is prevented from cracking intermediate its ends when not in use and when supported as illustrated in Fig. 3. w I
. With reference to the foregoingdescription it will be apparent that a device constructed in accordance with this invention may be cheaply manufactured and is admirably adapted for supporting hot water bottles and the like. v
V Having'thus described theinvention, what I claim is 1. A device of l the class described comprising a body having a laterally projecting rib constituting a shoulder, a hook having a shank passing through said rib and provided with an offset portion engaging said shoulder.
2. A device of the class describedcomprising a body having a rib constituting a shoulder, a hook having a shank passing through said rib and provided-with an offset portion engaging saidshoulder, said rib being of semi-circular formation and provided with a groove for receiving a flexible tube;
3. A device of the class described comprising a semi-circular body having a reinforcing rib constituting a shoulder, 'an attaching hook having a shank passing 7 through said rib and having an offset portion engaged with said shoulder, said shank being formed With a bill adapted to be engaged by an article, the offset portion of 7 said shank disposing the bill in spaced relation to the body.
LA device of the class described comprising a semi-circular body having a laterally projecting semi-circular rib provided With-8,11 opening, a hook having a shank ROY F. PERKINS;
