To all whom it may concern Be it known that l, Gnonon PEEL LELY, a subject of His'Majesty the King of Great Britain, and resident of Parkstone Heights, in the county of Dorset, Kingdom of Eng land, have invented a certain new and useful Calendar or Date-Indicator, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to calendars and has for its object to provide an improved construction of calendar wherein the number of operations required to efi'ect achange in the dates shown by the calendar is re duced to a minimum.
According to this invention the calendar essentially comprises two alined or superposed members one bearing an indication of the date of the day of the month and the other the day of the week, the two members being; relatively rotatable so as to adjust the day of the week with respect to the day of the month or vice versa and thereafter simultaneously rotatable daily or when desired to indicate the diurnal changes and the corresponding changes in the numbers of the days of the month. The two rotatable members thus retain throughout the month the relative positions to which they or one of them have or has been set at the beginning of the month.
I will describe with reference to the accompanyinp; drawing a construction in accordance with the present invention but I do not limit myself to the precise construction described and illustrated.

Figs. 4 and 5 are elevations of modified forms of the invention and Fio's. 6, 7, 8 and 9 show respectively an elevation, a section, an elevation and a section of the calendar of Figs. 1 and 5 as applied to a wristlet or watch wristlet.
Referring to Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings the calendar comprises a wooden, metal or other suitable casing 1 provided adjacent its upper end or one end, with a radially split member forming two alined rollers 2, 3 or with separate alined rollers on one 2 of which are arranged suitable indications of the date of the day of the month, the other roller 3 bearing indications of the days of the week. The two alined rollers 2, 8 are preferably mounted on the same spindle l and are so constructed that relative rotation of the two rollers 2, 8 can be effected in order to alter the day of the week to correspond with the day of the month. T his adjust ment may be effected in any suitable'and convenient manner. One such construction to give the desired result is shown in Fig. 3 and consists in providing the end of one roller 2 say the roller carrying the numbers corresponding to the days of the month with a V shaped recess 5, the spindle 4 being provided with a cross pin 6 adapted to engage the said recess. On pulling the spindle 4 outward or pushing the spindle inward by the handle 4- against the action of a spring 7 the other roller beino; fixed by a pin 8 or set screw 9 to the spindle and rotatable therewith one roller 3 may then be rotated relatively to the roller 2; *On releasing; the adjusted roller 3, the two rollers engage so that they can be rotated simultaneously.
In front of the alined rollers 2, 3 is or are arranged an opening or openings 15, 16 in the casing so that the numbers of the days of the month and the diurnal indications may be visible therethroush. Such opening, or openings may be glazed or provided with a transparent cover of celluloid or other suitable material. A similar opening 17 or slot preferably also lazed is arranged in the casing 1 below the former opening or openings and through this opening can be clearly seen an indication of the month, such indication being engraved, stamped, painted or otherwise suitably indicated on the roller 'as separately mounted rollers'one above the other, one roller 2 being provided with the numerical indications of the days of the month and the other roller 3 with the diurnal indications. lhese two superposed rollers are each in this construction pror of the roller 2 may be provided on one end vided outside the casing with a gear wheel 18, 19 belt or equlvalent pulley so that they can be rotated simultaneously. The spindle with a milled or other suitable disk 20 by whichthe said roller may be rotated relatively to the other roller without however rotating the latter roller. This may be effected by a construction similar to that shown in Fig. 3. The monthly indications are mounted on a roller as in Fig. 1 or on an endless band as in Fig. 4, these being seen through an opening or slot provided in the casing wall such opening or slot being glazed, or provided with atran'sparent covering if so desired.
Figs. 6 and 7 show respectively a plan and edge view of the calendar as applied to a wristlet or wat h wristlet. In this construction the rollers shown in Fig. 1 are mounted in a metal or other suitable casing 21 which is secured to the face of the leather orother wristlet or as shown between the plies 22, 23 thereof. The rollers 24 are rotated relatively by the hand wheel 4; as in Fig. l in the manner hereinbefore described and the'month indicating roller by the hand wheel or knob 5'. The casing 21 carrying the rollers is secured to the wristlet by rivets 25 or other suitable means.
