To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAGNUS N. SILVER, a citizen of Sweden, residing at Bergland, in the Province of Ontario and Dominion of Canada, have :t'ul Improvements in Tool Handles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvement-sin tool handles and its object is to provide a andle which will positively retain the tool in operative position regardless ofthe use to which it may be subjected. A further object is to provide a handle that will hold the tool fast in hot, cold, wet or dry weather and regardless of the contraction or expansion of the handle helve. and other objects in view theinvention consists in the combination and arrangement 01' parts to be hereinafter fully described in this specification, pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accomdii'awing which forms a part of the specification and in which- Fi ure 1 is a side elevation, partly in section, of my tool handle illustrating itsapplication.

What is claimed is:-- y
Ina tool handle, a helve formed with a central longitudinal. socket, an oval apertured retaining plate of greater breadth than the end of said helve and adapted for overlapping disposition thereupon cuneiform beads formedmarginally of said retaining plate, said beads being spaced apart with. their open ends adjacent each other, said beads beingdesigned to encompass said helve and to wedge in between the same and the tool, and a screw adapted for insertion in the apertured portion of said retaining plate and into the socket oi? said helve.
