To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROY A. ALEXANDER, a'. citizen of the United States, residing at Bellingham, in the county of Whatcom and State of Washington, have invented a new and useful varnished-Surface Burnisher, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is the production of a gum-solvent liquid suited for rubbing on varnished or finished surfaces to .partly dissolve said varnish .or finish and permit the forming,'by rubbing, of a new surface of greater smoothness, density and hardness than the original, and better'adapted for polishing with the aid of a suitable polishing liquid to be applied subsequently.
My composition consists of a mixture ofa mineral oil, an alkali, and water.
In preparing the composition I prefer to use theingredients about as follows: 4 oz.
gum-solvent spirits, an acid, a metal-cleaning substance, soap paraflin oil, 1% oz. turpentine, 3 .02. alcohol,
4 $02. acetic pomade, 1 oz. ivory soap, and 2 oz water.
The several ingredients are thoroughly mixed by violent stirring and agitation.
