This invention relates to tenk construction and pm'ticnlerly to portable tanks generolly supported upon a vehielebody or frame.
The invention contemplates the provision of an inexpensive and rigid melnsupporting bracket adapted to he applied to bolsters which form ports of the end sheets or pertie tank; for emn'iple such as shown in the potent to Lee ill-loll, No. 1,316,949 of September 1.919. and the bracket is so arranged with respect to the remaining portions of the tank, bolster and end sheets that s symi'netriesl eileot is provided.
In the drawings Figure l is a perspective view of etunic constructed in accords nee with my in Velltlfih.
Fig. II is s fragmentary view oil? it brscitet op Jlied tothe end of the bolster and .l*-' III is a modified form of bolster and bracket.
Referring now to the drawings by m mere-ls of reference:
1 1 designates e took having; the end sheets 2 and 3 on d the partition sheets l and The end sheets {WE provided with integral, down- Wei-(11y projecting liol 6 and 7, the lower edges of which are provid i with laterally projecting flanges 8 to rest upon and be se-- cured to longitudinal sills 9 by suitable thistoning devices, as for exai'nple, the bolts 10. When the brackets are seperste pants from the bolsters, the ends of the bolsters are provided with vertical flanges 11 eg'z'iinst Wl't'lCll the vertical flanges 12 of the brackets 13 are adapted to abut, the flanges 12 preferably being oo-extensive with the flm'igges 11, and
said brackets 13 are provided ,With laterally projecting, horizontal flanges 1-1 EOJGCGlVQ the can reeks 15 "which may be holtedthereto in a convenient manner. The flanges 12:1nrl 13 are provided With elining openings to ,reeeive the lsstenin devices or holts 16 end 17., as clearly indicated in hip: so that when the ports are in the position shown in ill, the lore ,ltets will, in. elieotn, he let ersl extensions of the hoists ti or i', so the may he, and upon "mop be secured the can K'tHJlIS, there being opei'iings l8 and 19 in the flanges 1.4.- to reeeive the fastening devices for securing the rsehs in place.
In Fig. Ill ll lilzivo shown a, slightly modified form of end sheet, olster Q id rest: in which the end sheet 20 is provided with an integral holster ill having or :iflitihge 9312 to en gage the side sill end so in'to 'r' ol, laterally projecting hreoket member 23 with it top late ill flange i l to receive the sen rook. in substantial ly the some mrtnner es the hreeltet shown in Figs, l and ll.
When the ports are in piece, it synnnetri col, rigidly-carried brat-last supported by the holster which not only serves :1- useful purpose hut enhances the genera :1 ppesr :i nee oi the tsnh;
ll: desired, the bolts for the bracket 1?) new be introduced in to o the openin s ill so that the bracket is wirtieslly zuljustiibls with respect to its bolster.
lVhzit l clsim and desireto sejmre by Let ters-Pelent is:
