Euvnnann, a citizen of the United States residing at Hillsboro, in the county of Highland and State of Ohio, have invented certain new .and useful Improvements in Ink-Bottle At tachments' and l do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to ink bottle attachments, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to provide meansfor discharging ink from an ink bottle into the reservoir of a fountain pen or onto a writing pen or drafting pen,
from the discharge orifice.
Another object of the invention is to pro vide an ink discharging device connected to a stopper which may be used in any character of bottle for discharging the ink in a suitable quantity for either filling a pen with the ink or for fillin the reservoir of a fountain pen without ripping and the unused ink being drawn back into the bottle automatically.

Referring to. the drawing the numeral 1 designates an ink bottle, which may be of the usual or any suitable construction. Fitted in-the neck of the bottle is a stopper 2, said cork or stopper having a cap or cover 3 formed of rubber or other plastic composition secured to the to of the cork to prevent disintegration. hntending the cap and through the stopper 2 is a tube 4, said tube terminating immediately below the lower end of the stopper as tube d is provided with a small compressible bulb- 6 connected to its upper end as at 7 in anysuitable manner to joint. A discharging tube 8 also erten s through an aperture in the cap 8 and through the stopper 2 and has jitsintake opening 9 located ata point near the bottom of the ink well 1, said tube havwithout spilling the ink or without permitting the ink to drip face of the neokoi the butt g a curved upper end 10 and a suitable dlscharge nozzle or orifice 11 which is 10- cated a ove the body of the ink in the ink bottle 1 and preferably on a line with or above the cap 3. The orifice 11 may be round or may be flattened out to extend along the nibs of a drafting pen to apply ink thereto in a thin strip or film.
In use the compressible bulb 6 is collapsed or pressed to force air into the space 12 above the surface of the ink 13 and to thus force the ink up through the discharge tube 8 and discharge it in a small quantity through the orifice 11. By properoperation any suitable amount or ink from a drop to a considerable quantity can be discharged at will. Upon releasing the bulb 6 the unused ink is drawn back into the ink bottle 1. While the discharging device is pri marily designed for use 1 draftsmen, it will be understood that an ordinary writing pen may be filled with ink or that a fountain pen reservoir can be filled, by having a fountain pen ink bottle supplied with this attachment, and it will also be understood that the device may be used with any suitable type of bottle so long as the discharge tube 8 is oil sutlicient len th.

What is claimed 1s:-
The combination of an ink bottle having a cylindrical neck and provided at the top thereoi with an outwardly extending annular flange, a substantially cylindrical cap arranged upon the upper edges of the neck of the bottle and provided with an annular flange or wall or" substantially the same diameter as'the flange oi the neck and or uniform thickness wlth the same, said tlan.,e or wall being provided with an upward'y and outwardly inclined inner face extending upwardly from and mergin into the inner is, a cylindrical stopper fitted in the-neck of the bottle and having a downwardly tapered enlarged upwardly projecting portion fitted within the flange or wall or the cap and interlocked with the same, a compressed air inlet tube extending through both the cap and the stopper and provided at the u per end with a compressible bulb located a ove the cap, and adischarge tube also extending through lid lllll nozzle, said tubes both the cap and the stopper and having a I the cap and the stopper.
