Improvements in Hose and Garment Sup-.
porters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention is an improved combined hose supporter and garment supporter which is adapted to be made of any suitable size for use by men, women or children and which may be used either as a hose supporter or as a garment or pad supporter or as both, at will, the object of my invention being to provide an improved device of this kind which is adapted to be worn on the body and suspended from the shoulders so as to entirely relieve the hips 0f the weight and stress incident to supporting hose, outer and undergarments, the invention consisting in the construction and arrangement of devices hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accom} )anying drawings :-Figure l is a perspective view of a combined hose and garment supporter constructed in accordance with my invention, illustrating it applied. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the same illustrating it removed, and Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view of an attaching tab for use in connection with my improved hose and garment supporter and Fig. l is a view in elevation of a slightly modified form of the hose and garment supporter.
In the embodiment of my invention I provide a pair of shoulder straps 1 which are connected together by front and rear cross bars 2, 3. A pair of hip straps A} are connected at their upper ends to the lower sides of the looped shoulder straps and are provided at the waist-band with either buttons or button-holes or other suitable fastening devices for attachment to garments, and at their lower ends with elastics 5 which have fastening devices 6 for attachment to the hose.
It will be observed that all the weight topics of this patent may be obtained and stress are imposed upon the shoulders of the wearer so that the waist and hips of the wearer are entirely relieved.
To adapt the supporter for use also for supporting a garment or garments or a pad I provide a front V-strap 7 and a rear V- strap 8 formed integral and slidably connected to the undersides of the shoulder straps by suitable loops 11 which are detachable. Each J-strap has a tab 12 and the said tabs are here shown as provided with safety pins 13 to enable them to be attached to a garment or a pad as may be desired. The tabs may within the scope of my invention be attached to the V-straps by any suitable means or in any suitable manner and may be provided with any suitable form of fastening devices. This construction and arrangement of the supporter enables the V- straps to slip in the loops 11 and accommodate themselves to the movements of the wearer.
It will be understood that my improved supporter is cheap and simple, that it may be readily put on or taken of? and that by its use, hose, pad and a garment or garments may be readily supported without imposing any weight or strain on the waist or hips.
Having thus described my invention I claim A garment supporter comprising a pair of circular shoulder straps, hip straps depending from the lowermost point of said shoulder straps, said hip straps having elastics at their lower ends provided with hose attaching devices, front and rear cross bars connecting the shoulder straps, loops secured to the lower central portion of said shoulder straps adjacent said hip straps, integral front and rear V-straps slidably connected to said loops. and garment attaching means carried by said ti-straps at the central portion thereof.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
