To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, JUnrUs ELIscU, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements inv Gaines, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a game watch which has for its object the utilization of a dial, in connection with the other mechanisms to be hereinafter described, as a means for setting in motion one or a plurality of balls which, coming to rest in` depressions contained on the dial surface will indicate either values or characters associated with such depressions upon the dial face. The invention in modified form may also be practised in connection with dice which are tumbled, and whose exposed surfaces will likewise indicate values or char acters as desired.

In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 represents a cross section of the game watch of my invention; Fig. 2 is a cross section on line 2 2 of Fig. 1, the dial being shown in full; Fig. 3 is a section on line 3-3 of Fig. 2; Fig. l is a plan view of a modified form of my invention with a part of the dial face broken away to expose the mechanism beneath. the dial; Fig. 5 is a cross section on, line 5-5 of Fig. t; Fig. 6 is a face view of my invention showing the dial face provided with characters and numerals corresponding to those of a card game; Fig. 7 is a face view of the dial of my game watch in a modied form; Fig. 8 is a side elevation of Fig. 7 and Fig. '9 is a section show ing the mechanism beneath the dial corresponding to the form shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3.

In the drawings 1 designates the watch case containing the movement hereinafter described and provided with the usual crystal; 2 represents the pendant comprising the ribbed stem Winder or crown 2a secured to the stem 3 projecting from the inner side of the casing 1 outwardly, said stem as shown in Figs. l, 2 and 3 being revolubly mounted in the sleeve 4- on the outside of the watch case. Secured to the inner end of this stem 3 is an upwardly projecting toothed segmental member 5 which is adapted upon revolving the stem 3 to mesh with the gear teeth 6 disposed in a circle upon the under "side of the concentrically located dial 7 said dial 7 being pivotally supported upon the pivot 8, by means of the downwardly pro- .jecting central sleeve 7 a secured to the under side of the dial.

Thev dial 7 is made preferably of lead or l.tin and in the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a flanged portion 9a, a depressed portion 9b and a preferably arched portion 9c. The depressed portion 9b is divided into y-a series of fields 9d by a series of equidistant `ribs extending radially between the flanged portion 9a and the arched portion 9, as shown in Figs. 1 and 6. The compartments thus produced form a series of depressions 9d wherein one or a plurality of balls or jother value indicating 4members will lodge "when the spinning dial is at rest. The arched portion 9c may be utilized to indicate a series of radiating fields, terminating rat the depressions 9d, these fields being preferably demarked by a paster applied to the `portion 9c, and indicating colors. As sho-wn `in Fig. 6 the face of the dial is utilized to indicate suits of cards, the various suits and `colors being indicated upon the arched face 9c, while the card values, such as king, queen, jack, 7, etc., are indicated upon the flanged portion 9a of the dial. The series of balls 15 shown in Fig. 6 would indicate, for instance, a queen of clubs, a 7 of spades, 5 of hearts, and an ace of diamonds, the values queen, 7, 5 and ace being indicated on the flanged portion 9a, the suit and colors being indicated in the fields on the arched portion 9c radiating from the center. It will, of course, be understood that the arrangement of the dial with regard to its indicating devices is adaptable to any desired game. For instance, the portion 9a may be utilized to indicate an arbitrary set of figures while the radiating strips on the portion 9c may be utilized to indicate different colors.

The operation for revolving the dial in the foregoing mechanism is as follows: The crown 2 and stem 3 are given a turn whereby the upwardly extending toothed segmental member 5, secured to the stem 3, and normally out of mesh, will be brought into mesh with the gear teeth 6 located on the under side of the dial. By sharply turning the crown 2a and its stem 3 the toothed member 5 in passing into and out of mesh with the dial teeth 6 will impart to the dial a sharp rotary movement and send it spinning about the cent-ral pivot 8,

by momentum, the balls 15 being simultaneously agitated. As the spinning dial is about to come to rest the balls 15 upon the lever 10 is pivoted upon the pivot 10a projecting upwardly from the bottom of the watch case, the lever 10 being toothed at its inner end 10b to mesh with the gear 11 provided upon the downwardly projecting hollow stem 12 centrally secured to the dial. The outer end of this lever 10 projects through a slit circumferentially arranged in the watch case and may be actuated by means of the crown 2a secured thereto at its end projecting outside of the watch case. In this construction the dial is caused to spin by giving the lever 10 a sharp push, carrying the toothed, inner end 10b into and out of mesh with the centrally located dial gear 11 and causing the dial thereupon to spin by` momentum.

Figs. 7, 8 and 9 show the spinning dial in conjunction with a set of dice and in this form of my invention it is not necessary to indicate any values on the face of the dial since the dice themselves constitute the value indicating members. Fig. 8 shows the spinning dial as made to coperate with the lever 10 and toothed rack 10", illustrated in Figs. 4L and 5 while Fig. 9 shows the same as made to cooperate with the stem 3 and toothed member 5 illustrated in Figs. 1, 2 and 3. The preferred form in which my invention is practised in connection with the dice is to make the dial cup-shaped as shown in Fig. 8, for instance, and to apply a concavo-convex crystal whereby a suiliciency of depths for tumbling the dice will be secured. The operation of this form of my invention is otherwise identical with that of the form shown in Figs. 1-5 and hereinabove described.

I claim- 1. A game watch comprising a casing; a revoluble dial pivotally supported in said casing; hand operated means for engaging said dial to rotate the same and a value indicating member adapted to be agitated upon said dial during the rotation thereof. 2. A game watch comprising a watch case; a revoluble dial pivotally supported in said case; hand operated means projecting outside of said watch case for actuating said dial and a value indicating member adapted to be agitated upon said dial during the rotation thereof.

3. A game watch comprising a casing; a revoluble dial pivotally supported in said casing and provided with value indicating characters; a value indicating member adapted t-o be agitated uponpsaid dial during the rotation thereof; a gear for said dial and hand opera-ted toothed member adapted to mesh with said gear. f

t. A game watch comprising a watch case a revoluble dial pivotally supported in said case and provided with depressions on its upper surface; hand operated mea-ns for actuating said dial and a value indicating member adaptedto be agitated upon said dial during the rotation thereof.

5. Agame watch comprising a watch case; a revoluble dial pivotally supported in said case; hand operated means for actuating said dial and a value indicating member' adapted to be agitated upon said dial during the rotation thereof.
