Description

Color management for manufacturing systems

The present disclosure relates to manufacturing systems and, in particular, the present disclosure relates to color management for printing operations of sheet materials, for example, in manufacturing systems for apparel manufacturing.

Mass production of apparel has gradually automated. For example, there are a variety of software tools available to aid design and production. One type of software that provides great flexibility is the pattern management software. The current pattern management system allows the user to lay out and adjust various components that become a garment once they are all tailored together.

There are various limitations to the currently available pattern management software. For example, the components of the garment are only displayed by the contours of their individual shapes. In some instances, this approach is feasible; however, this can be problematic when manufacturing is close to production.

Explore the production of apparel that includes materials with heavy patterns, such as striped materials or plaid materials. The fabric "pattern" is completely useless throughout the production process. The third party application takes the outline of each of the patterns that are drawn from the pattern management software and then allows the user to fill the outline with the pattern and color. While this can help designers visualize a product; however, this approach does not provide the necessary level of manufacturing control.

For example, exploring the colors that are important to the designer. Moving these images between applications can have a tendency to worsen any color inaccuracies. Accordingly, initial production may require careful inspection of an initial production result, adjustment of the production process, and repetition. This wastes costs and loses production time. This production process can be quite expensive if adjustments are needed.

Accordingly, there is a need in the art for techniques for improving color management in fabric manufacturing, specifically to produce printed fabrics for use in assembling garments. In particular, the fabrics are used to provide a workpiece or component to be used to assemble a garment pattern. These methods and devices will improve the software used in apparel design and reduce the cost of manufacturing.

To provide a specific background to the invention, specific terms will now be introduced.

CIELAB(或是L*a*b*或是Lab)被設計成用以產生一種比其它色彩空間更為感知線性的色彩空間。 YIQ以前基於歷史原因被使用在NTSC(北美、日本以及其它地方)電視廣播中。 As discussed herein, the term "color space" generally refers to any of a number of models or standards used to define colors. In general, there are five main models that can be subdivided into other models, CIE, RGB, YUV, HSL/HSV, and CMYK. CIE may also be referred to as "CIE 1931 XYZ", which is the first attempt to create a color space based on metrics of human color perception and is the basis for almost all other color spaces. CIE can be provided in a variety of modified forms. An example of this is CIELAB. CIELAB (or L*a*b* or Lab) is designed to produce a color space that is more linear than other color spaces. RGB (red, green, blue) describes what kind of light needs to be emitted to produce a given color. Light will be added together to create a shape from the dark. RGB stores individual values for red, green, and blue. RGB is not a color space, it is a color model. Many different RGB color spaces are inferred from this color model. YUV, YIQ, YDbDr, and related models provide luminance (luma) and color/chrominance metrics. YIQ was previously used in NTSC (North America, Japan, and other places) television broadcasts for historical reasons. The system stores a luminance value and two color density or chrominance values, which roughly correspond to the number of blue and red. It closely corresponds to the YUV technology used in PAL (Australia except Australia, France; SECAM in France); different systems, the YIQ color space is rotated 33 degrees based on the YUV color space. The YDbDr technique used in SECAM TV is rotated in another way. HSL/HSV provides a measure of hue and saturation. HSV (hue, saturation, numerical value), also known as HSB (hue, saturation, brightness), is often used by artists because of the hue and saturation compared to additive or subtractive color components. Imagine a color that is often more natural. The HSV is a conversion of the RGB color space, and its composition and colorimetry are based on the RGB color space of the HSV. HSL (hue, saturation, lightness/luminance) is also known as HSL, HSI (hue, saturation, intensity), or HSD (hue, saturation, darkness), very similar to HSV, It replaces "lightness" with "brightness". The difference is that the brightness of a solid color is equal to the brightness of white, while the brightness of a solid color is equal to the brightness of a medium gray. CMYK is used in the printing process because it describes which ink needs to be applied so that light reflected from the substrate and passing through the ink produces a given color. One way is to start with a white substrate (canvas, page, etc.) and use ink to subtract color from white to create an image. CMYK stores ink values for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. There are many CMYK color spaces in different ink, substrate, and embossed feature sets (which change the dot gain and transfer function of each ink, and thus the appearance). A wide variety of other color space models are known.

As discussed in this article, words such as "color narrative file", "ICC narrative file", "device narrative file", and other similar words usually represent a material used to characterize the color response of a color input or output device. set. In some embodiments, the color narration information is defined by standards promulgated by the International Color Consortium (ICC). The narrative file describes the color attributes of a particular device or viewing requirement by defining a mapping between the device source or target color space and a Profile Connection Space (PCS). In certain embodiments, the PCS is one of CIELAB (L*a*b*) or CIEXYZ. The mapping can be detailed using a table, which can be done by interpolation or by a series of conversion algorithms.

Each device that captures or displays color can be described. Some manufacturers offer color narration files for their products. Similarly, there are many products that allow end users to create a color narration for a device. Generating a color narration can be accomplished using a tristimulus colorimeter or a spectrometer.

As discussed herein, the term "color space conversion" generally refers to the transfer of a color representative from one color space to another. This typically occurs in a background that transforms the image represented in one of the color spaces into another, with the goal of making the transferred image look as if it were the same color as the original image.

As an example of color conversion, the system to be explored has data associated with a particular RGB color space and must be converted from the particular RGB color space to a CMYK color space. The first step is to obtain an ICC narration file of the input device and another ICC narration file for obtaining the output device. To implement the conversion, each RGB ternary value is first converted to a narration file connection space (PCS) data set using the RGB narration file. If necessary, the PCS data set is first converted into an intermediate space that provides a well-defined conversion system, for example, an intermediate space between CIELAB and CIEXYZ. The PCS data set is then converted to four values of CMYK using the second narrative file (i.e., the ICC profile of the output device).

Thus, a narrative file will provide a mapping from one color space to another and facilitate the conversion. Conversion may involve the use of multiple color value tables, some of which may have to be interpolated (conversions in each direction may require different color value tables) or by using a series of mathematical formulas.

As discussed in this article, the term "pattern" is used in general in two different contexts. In the first context, the term "pattern" generally refers to the layout or depicted geometry of a plurality of material workpieces (also referred to as "components") to be used to assemble a garment. In this context, the pattern describes the shape and size of each component of the garment, as well as the relationship used to assemble the components. To avoid confusion, some examples of the first background will describe the "component" or "workpiece" of a pattern where appropriate. In the second context, the term "pattern" generally describes an appearance. For example, a series of repeated flowers can describe a flower pattern, and the flower pattern can be used as a printed pattern of a material. In this context, the pattern can be applied to a blank cloth or applied to a fabric that already contains a base pattern or color. To avoid confusion, the patterns in some instances of this second background may be referred to as "appearance patterns."

Therefore, a patterned component (or workpiece) can present an appearance pattern. Accordingly, a plurality of components can be assembled to present a garment of a particular appearance. Therefore, the "appearance pattern color narrative file" is an abbreviation which generally indicates the appearance or appearance of a pattern that can be used on a cloth, and further includes color narrative information.

Generally, a sheet material (for example, a roll of cloth) is split into a plurality of different parts. The components represent portions of a given pattern that are then used to assemble a garment. For example, the components that the assembly is used to provide for the garment can be implemented by a tailor. Typically, the material components or workpieces are cut from a larger supply material (eg, a roll of cloth). This cutting process may involve conventional cloth cutting equipment and/or other suitable techniques. The techniques disclosed herein are not limited to workpieces of a particular shape or size.

In an exemplary embodiment, the sheet material may comprise a roll of cloth, such as a mesh material (ie, a woven material). The appearance of the fabric can be completely blank, with multiple colors and/or patterns on it. Any pattern to be incorporated can be repeated, randomly appearing, and can convey any appropriate information. For example, the cloth can contain images, text, graphics, and other design(s). As provided herein, the raw materials may be decorated with dyeing, which may have the form of a pattern, including icons, brand information, and other similar dyeing effects.

The user interface 121 can be configured to have various devices, such as a display equipped with a robust graphics adapter to improve the performance of graphics intensive applications, a video controller, a capacitive (ie, touch screen) display. And similar. The user interface can include a keyboard, an indicator device (for example, a mouse), a microphone, and a speaker. Other user interface devices can also be incorporated where appropriate.

The control system can include a wide variety of additional computing resources as is known in the art. This includes data storage, graphics devices (eg, drawing pads, touch pads, additional imaging devices, touch screens, and other such devices), additional network connections, and may further include output devices, for example, at least A regional printer (which includes a color printer), a network printer, and/or another proprietary device.

Generally, the control system includes machine readable instructions stored in a machine readable medium (eg, ROM, RAM, or a plurality of storage units). Machine readable media can also be referred to as "non-transitory" media. These machine readable instructions (also referred to herein as "software", "applications", "client programs", "processing programs", "plug-ins" and other similar terms) are usually provided in this article. The functionality proposed in general.

The data can be stored in any suitable type of database and manipulated using appropriate tools. For example, images and their shapes and detailed catalogues may be stored in a database such as ORACLE provided by Oracle Corporation of Redwood Coast, California; by Microsoft Corporation of Redmond, Washington, USA SQL SERVER sold; and SYBASE of SAP Corporation in Dublin, California. Databases generated using these or other tools can also be managed using these or other tools.

舉例來說,並且如本文中所提出,合宜的作業環境為WINDOWS(由位於美國華盛頓州雷德蒙德的Microsoft Corporation所販售)。 Certain software incorporated with the control system (i.e., machine readable instructions in machine readable media) may include a work environment. For example, and as suggested herein, a convenient operating environment is WINDOWS (sold by Microsoft Corporation of Redmond, Washington, USA). For example, the software provided in this article can be developed in the SQL language, which is a cross-vendor query language for managing relational repositories. The aspect of the software can be implemented using other software. For example, the user interface can be provided in XML, HTML, and similar software.

Third party software can be used in conjunction with the imaging system 100. For example, a software for controlling the illumination 111 and the imaging device 115 can be used. Specific third-party software can be integrated with the control system to provide seamless operation for the user. Accordingly, the control system can have at least one interface for interfacing the auxiliary software or system.

In one embodiment, an appearance pattern (i.e., an image appearing on sample 101) is first imaged using imaging system 100. Next, the control system or another system (e.g., a remote computer) may obtain information such as the color characteristics of the imaging device 115 and the characteristics of the illumination 111 to provide a color narration of the appearance pattern. The resulting appearance pattern color narrative file is stored electronically and can be stored in non-transitory media.

In another embodiment, an appearance pattern is generated by a computer (eg, computer 120) software. The computer 120 can be equipped with graphics software, such as an illustration or drawing set software. Accordingly, the user can create the appearance pattern in the graphics software by using the available tools provided in the graphics software. An example of a suitable graphics software is the ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR sold by Adobe Systems Incorporated of San Jose, California. The computer 120 then collects information such as the color characteristics of the graphical display to provide a color narrative of the appearance. The resulting appearance pattern color narrative file is stored electronically and can be stored in non-transitory media.

In general, the appearance pattern color narrative file contains appearance information such as colors and patterns in the sample 101 (whether imaged or generated via software) and device features. That is, the appearance pattern color narrative file can embed color space information related to the tool used to generate the color pattern of the appearance pattern. For example, the appearance pattern color narration file and related information below: wavelength of illumination used during imaging, color sensitivity characteristics of the sensor for imaging, and imaging data. In another example, the appearance pattern color narrative file can include a screen color generation information (to address the visual bias presented to the graphic artist) and graphics data generated by the graphics software.

In some embodiments, the user interface 121 provides a user graphical user interface that allows the user to interface with the pattern management software. An exemplary interface and aspect of the pattern management software is provided in Figures 2 through 5.

Referring now to Figures 2 through 4, an aspect of an embodiment of a system management software 200 depicted by user interface 121. Generally, the pattern management software 200 includes a toolbar 201. The toolbar 201 can take a large number of software tools. These software tools can be used for file management and for correcting archives. The user can use the software tools to open a component file that describes a particular component of a shape pattern. Each component file can be opened under a component label 203. In some embodiments, a plurality of components are included in a single component file. For example, all parts of a particular shape pattern can be contained in a single part file. In the example shown in the figure, the part file is for a part of the ladies blouse.

As can be seen under the component label 203, a display area 204 graphically depicts the outline 205 of a given component. Profile 205 contains the shape associated with each particular component that is used to assemble the garment. The pattern management software 200 provides a separate cloth image feature interface 220. In this example, the cloth image feature interface 220 is a pop-up window. In general, the cloth image feature interface 220 is used to capture the previously created appearance pattern color statement file 225. The fabric image feature interface 220 can display the appearance pattern 230 and can include additional tools for managing image characteristics as well as color narration files, alignments and additional aspects associated with the components used to assemble the garment. In addition, a user control interface 226 can be used to manipulate the exterior pattern 230. The user control interface 226 can be separated from the cloth image feature interface 220 to provide a global application (eg, across all open component tags 203), establish default values, and apply other techniques.

226。 Referring now to Figure 3, the appearance pattern 230 has been applied to the contour 205 (shown in Figure 2). Once the appearance pattern 230 has been applied to the contour 205, the resulting appearance component 235 can be stored as an updated component file. In this illustration, the user has selected the appropriate image characteristics for the cloth and has closed the cloth image feature interface 220. In addition to this, the user has also applied the appropriate user controller and has closed the user control interface 226.

As can be seen in this illustration, the part tag 203 contains a series of part icons 206-X. Each of the component icons is associated with a particular component of the garment (in this case, a women's shirt). For example, the back of the blouse is depicted in the part icon 206-1. The collar of the blouse is depicted in the part icon 206-2. The cuffs of the women's top are depicted in the part icon 206-3. The front of the blouse is depicted in the part icon 206-4. The sleeves of the women's top are depicted in the part icon 206-5. In general, the user only needs to point to and click on one of the component icons 206-X to select the associated component of the garment. Accordingly, the process described in conjunction with Figure 2 can be easily repeated throughout the garment. In addition, certain features can be applied to each of these components as well as to a particular component file by the user control interface 226.

Referring now to Figure 4, the user has selected color space information for the input device. The color space selection menu 245 can be particularly useful for electronic files containing the appearance pattern that have been provided by an external source and without any embedded color space information. Accordingly, the color space selection menu 245 allows the user to manually apply color space information or to allow the user to override existing color space information for a given input device.

In some embodiments, the pattern management software 200 allows a user to manipulate the appearance pattern 230 in conjunction with the contour 205. For example, the user can adjust the alignment of the appearance pattern 230 on the first component and the second component such that the appearance pattern 230 exhibits continuity when the first component and the second component are joined together. And will not be interrupted by the gap created between the parts.

In some embodiments, the appearance pattern 230 can be scaled. That is, when the size and/or shape of the outline 205 is adjusted, the appearance pattern 230 can be scaled. In one embodiment, the appearance pattern 230 is stored as a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file. SVG is a markup language used to describe two-dimensional graphics applications and images and a set of related graphical scripting interfaces. The standard for SVG files is promulgated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international community of member organizations and full-time staff, and works together to develop network standards. In the United States, the W3C is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The user can utilize a scalable appearance pattern 230 to adjust the size of the pattern and thus maintain the designer's expected ratio. For example, the size of an icon may increase slightly in a larger size garment and, for example, proportional to the size of the pocket in which the icon is to be placed.

In some embodiments, a portion of the appearance information may be scaled while other portions remain unchanged. For example, the aforementioned icon displayed above the tartan pattern is explored. The user may wish to adjust the size of the icon as the size of the outline 205 changes; however, the user may also wish the geometry of the plaid pattern to remain the same. Accordingly, in some embodiments, the appearance pattern 230 can comprise multiple layers, for example, provided in a program CAD. Therefore, the characteristics of one layer can be adjusted while the characteristics of the other layer remain unchanged.

Referring now to Figure 5, there is shown a cloth printing and cutting apparatus, generally designated by the symbol 500, having a work table 502 supported on a plurality of legs 504. The second transport rack 516 carries a printer transport carriage 522 thereon movably disposed, the printer transport carriage 522 being positioned for movement in the Y direction. The printer carriage 522 includes a printhead 524 disposed thereon. In one embodiment, the printhead 524 utilizes a pigment jet printer, for example, but is not limited to dye-jet or ink-jet; however, other types may be used. Printing presses, for example, thermal transfer printing presses. The printing and cutting device 500 includes a controller 520 that transmits and receives signals on the network 510 and processes the signals. The controller 520 can include a user interface 521 that includes a video display, a keyboard, an indicator device, and other interface devices. The controller 520 can include a computer processor including a memory to implement other peripheral hardware functions as set forth herein above, and can be equipped with software, for example, to control the printing of the cloth. The communication and operation of the cutting device 500 is provided, as well as the user interface 521 is provided.

Accordingly, a user can collect a color space narrative file or a graphic file of a sample 101 and provide accurate color reproduction of the sample 101 on a cloth via the pattern management software 200.

In some embodiments, the pattern management software 200 is configured to generate an appearance pattern color narrative file 225. In some embodiments, the pattern management software 200 is configured to apply the appearance pattern 230 (with or without a color space for an input device) to the outline 205, to produce the appearance component 235, and to update and store the Component file.

IPAD。 In general, the pattern management software 200 operates on a platform such as one of: a personal computer (PC), for example, sold by Microsoft Corp. of Redmond, Washington, USA. The personal computer of the operating system, or a personal computer running an operating system of Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California, or other systems, such as LINUX or UNIX. Other devices can also be used. For example, the platform can be provided as a tablet, such as an IPAD sold by Apple Inc.

Referring to Figure 6, a flow diagram of an exemplary method for color narration management is shown. In an exemplary method 600 of color narration management, a first step 601 includes generating the appearance pattern color narration file. The appearance pattern color narrative can be generated by imaging a sample 601-1 and/or by generating a graphic file 601-2.
