Abstract
: The present invention introduces a novel mechanism for imparting rotational spin to large coilgun projectiles. This is achieved through a design that incorporates two rings, each equipped with multiple angled wheels, positioned at specific locations along the projectile. These wheels, coated with high-friction rubber, are set at a deliberate angle relative to the projectile's longitudinal axis and protrude slightly from its surface. When the projectile is propelled through a coilgun barrel, the angled wheels tightly interact with the barrel's interior, generating a torque that induces a stabilizing spin. This mechanism enhances the accuracy and stability of the projectile in flight, offering a significant improvement over traditional coilgun designs.
